CoOperative/Competitive Team Roleplay

Otherworldly Being
Hello all! So recently I have been toying with the idea of making a roleplay in which people must have teams that rely and depend on one another. So without ado, let me show you two basic ideas and whichever achieves 10 votes the fastest, will receive the completed Roleplay (and maybe the other will too in time)!

Edge Space - This idea is relatively simple. It consists of three player teams that are sent to a distant world to colonize it but end up making their own faction. You work in a team of three: a gunman, an engineer, and a scientist. The gunman is responsible for keeping the group safe, the engineer building, and the scientist research and development. Each member will recruit/control the NPCs of their type that join the group, turning this into a nation building RP.

TL; DR
World: New Planet
Technology: Futuristic/Modern
Team Size: 3
Warlord - This RP is set on the continent of Africa, where each team consists of 2-4 members. This group is now in the running for a position loathed by most of the world, and feared by those who live in Africa. A Warlord. However, you can bring change to this continent and begin charities, actual protection of people, new research to help your people and more. However, you can also choose to be a cruel and evil warlord, with only money, power, and infamy to gain. Choose your path and engage in diplomacy, war, trade. and more in Warlords!

TL; DR
World: Earth (Specifically Africa)
Technology: Modern
Team Size: 2-4

Warlords of the Walled Continent - This RP is exactly like Warlords, except that there was a major outbreak of viral fever that killed almost everyone, and anyone it didn't kill it made them walking disease factories. To combat this a giant wall was built around all the land connections to Africa and some areas of the ocean. This now created what was known as the Dumping Ground. Most countries now empty their overflowing prison populations into this hellhole in order to save money. Now it is total Chaos and who will rise up to fight for the people? You? Or will you beat them down even further?

TL; DR
World: Earth (Specifically Africa)
Technology: Modern
Team Size: 2-4

Taken under advisement, even though I am hoping for Warlords xD
To be honest, Warlords isn't intriguing enough. It doesn't promise much that's new or changed from our world really. Other than a potentially much less stable Africa.

That's fair, do you have any suggestions on how to improve it then? I have some things I could throw in there but I do want it to be realistic, ya feel?

The events of the plot sound like they don't really matter globally. I'm also envisioning we're going to be these third world war bands running around with AK47s.

What if we added in several players to be outsider countries and their sole role is to work with/against certain countries to give them power and what not. It can matter globally. But you may be right. Let me see if I can come up with something extra spicy.

I was thinking mainly Rimworld, as I recently picked that up and fell in love.
It gave me a Rimworld vibe most of all.

Would you think of adding some, I guess, Bulletstormy/Borderlandy elements? Maybe some sorta random plot events? I think on a chaotic world it would be fun to respond to new sorts of crazy challenges every so often, but what I think would be the best is eventually some sort of military organization. Fighting a ruthless and trained enemy after a long beginning of fighting rabble rousers that can't even read feels pretty cool as a final sort of antagonist.

I will take this under advisement for sure!

Have you ever played Bulletstorm though? It might be lacking in most of the dialog, but it sure knew how to advance the plot and introduce new areas. Right after the intro you got to destroy something and it was REALLY satisfying.

I actually have not. But I will look more into it in the future, especially if Edge Space does well.

It's more of a first person shooter, you carve your way through this post apocalyptic resort planet that fell to ruin because of poor management. It was really hated by people that generally hate any game with violence when it released because there's these combos you can do with weapons that have inappropriate names, there's frequent expletives, borderline suggestive bits, ect.

But it felt really well done, there was a good amount of variety in locales and you kinda got the feeling you're changing things even though all you're doing is essentially killing everything in your path. I even cared for the two side characters. To this day I think the graphics still hold up and the world design is pretty nice. It's only a few years old at this point I believe.

I just want to make sure that those who are interested are aware they will need to get two others to join them and will cooperatively play with them in the RP, which is kinda the whole point of this specific one. Is everyone clear on that?

(I just want to double check before putting a bunch of time into an RP only to have no one want to do it because they misunderstood)

Remember one account = one character
One team = three characters

Throwing my two cents in with this. One question though, if we were to end up with the Edge Space game what kind of planet would it be?

I'm assuming a desert or a prairie would be where we're playing. At least at first. That's the stereotypical Rimworld game.
