Last year we incarcerated a man for treason. He was a man heralded as “the next DaVinci.”
He pleaded Not Guilty, but the evidence had been damning. He admitted himself that he would have given the same verdict if presented the same evidence. Yet he also claimed that he had been framed. There was absolutely no evidence to support his claim. It was quite the scandal. The trial has gone down in history as a conspiracy theory - though with few real conclusions drawn.
He was sentenced to Life Imprisonment. He was stripped of a Civilian Medal of Honor that he had received when he was 23, shortly before evidence of his treason was presented. Only 9 such medals have ever been awarded, 8 during the US Civil War.
On this day, about 150,000 people vanish. Of course, with so many, the actual count is unknown. This is an estimate. But religious people are calling it the Rapture, which calls for 144,000 being the number to be taken during this event.
Your character will be 925’s handler. It will be her job to “motivate” him to work for the Dept. of Defense. The task set before him? To determine what happened to the Rapturees.
He is expected to say no or make demands. The news and social media regarded him as some sort of Lex Luther, loved and respected until evidence of his treason came to light. But from the way it looks he is the best hope mankind has. If news of his release makes it out, other nations may even try to kidnap him and make their own offers.
Your character is certain she has not been “read in” on all the facts of the case. She has a number to call if she feels she is losing control over him or the situation … or if he refuses to negotiate and makes “impossible” demands.
Your Character
Female, preferably mid 20s. Attractive, healthy, dark or red hair as his profile indicates he doesn’t like blondes. (She can dye it if she likes.) She will need to decide how far her influence goes if she chooses to accommodate him.
Opening Scene
I will be opening this with 925 having rejected the initial offer from the first handler. He will be suffering from his incarceration. No, he is not going to be cooperative initially. It will be up to your character to convince him.
