Conversation Participants List

Naxtaroth

The Raven
I think it is very cluttered to keep people who have left the conversation permanently in the participants list. It would be nice to see a feature where the creator of the Conversation can remove them from the list. I figure once someone has permanently left the conversation, there is no need to keep them in the list. If there is already a way to do this, I would like to know. If not, it should definitely be something to think about. :)

Please and Thank You

Just to give you a perspective of what Lup is talking about...

Currently how your conversations are handled is managed directly by the Xenforo forum software. So we would have to investigate if what you want is possible without requiring an entire addon for it.

I have looked into this in the past day or so but unfortunately things don't seem to work in the way I thought they did. Otherwise we could have made a toggle option similar to the "Site Index Shoutbox" option to hide people booted from the conversation. It looks like it would require more than a few style edits and back-end options to do what you want.

The staff will look further into what we can do though.

In re-reading your response, I believe there has been a misunderstanding. Yes, hiding the, would do the trick, but it isn't the solution I was looking for. I meant actually being able to remove them from the whole thing. It seems odd to have a conversation of about 20 people if only 13 are really in the conversation. This makes it hard to remove and add new people since eventually you reach the limit of how many people can be in a conversation. Would there be a way to remove them from the conversation entirely. For instance if there are 20 people, you remove someone, it drops down to 19, then you add someone else in. Rather than merely adding one more person, it would be as if they are replacing the other person. This would solve the whole removing/adding people and hitting the limit problem.

I understand now and such a topic has come up before from others users. Unfortunately what you ask for is not within our capabilities at the moment. Replacing people is not a part of the system in anyway (especially since people "leaving" can actually come back into the conversation in same instances) and would require (possibly major) alterations to the forum system directly. For the time being, we do not have the resources to have such a thing built by ourselves or commissioned. Sorry, the matter may be looked into in the future.
