Atrophia Sanguinis
High Lady of Feels
Kyrell Telemson
Age:
22
Race:
Human
Personality:
He is a man of few words and whose few words count. Kyrell is as down to earth as he is quiet though his morals and selfishness have been screwed around because of his egotistical family. But the rest of him is seemingly an enigma, something that he has not really shown others, mostly due to his disposition of not trusting easily since he was a child. His discerning trust has proved to keep him alive after multiple assassin attempts that have been swept under the rug from the public. Only a select few are aware of the hidden determination, strength, and cunning he does not portray when he plays the docile Crown Prince in front of the court. His tendency to stay back in the shadows of the drapes or throne has earned him the nickname of Dark Prince.
Kyrell isn’t as socially charming as his regal family but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to put on a show. He likes to act dark and sinister, the mysterious figure of the court, to enjoy the looks of fear he creates on disloyal nobles. But he shows respect nonetheless to all those who are honorable and worthy of his input. His spoiled lifestyle has granted him distaste for disorder and messes unless it was for reasons such as swordsmanship training.
Background:
Kyrell was born to King Telem’s first wife who passed away minutes later after his birth. His father did not despise him as he grew up, his first wife doing her job and presenting him with a healthy heir. His father then married his younger brother’s mother who was born just after he was four. At only five was the first attempt on his life, a nurse maid came at him with a needle, missing his neck and impaling his shoulder. The guards had to be convinced by more than Kyrell’s screams, as he was a snivelling child, to come in and slay the almost successful assassin. Not wanting his oldest son to have to face the world without being able to defend himself despite having a second son, the King had a sword thrown in Kyrell’s hands only months later. As he grew up and learned to be a fair and proficient swordsman, the assassination attempts grew fewer and fewer until they seemed to halt as he became a young man. It was no secret to him that his step mother wanted him dead so her son could be the one to continue but he did not tell his father who was already too entangled in her web of manipulation.
Kyrell also grew up distant and isolated from the Queen’s manipulations and his own mistrust of people, becoming a socially awkward personality deep down behind his facade as a royal. Thus the court grew wary of his appearance in meetings, unsure of this dark boy who gave off such a cold, threatening aura to them. The King, beginning to grow weary from age and stress, started having Kyrell take over some parts of his rule. The Queen grew desperate, it was her last chance to end the boy before his position became solid and became an idol to his people. She didn’t trust others to carry out her work for her, deciding she must do it herself if it must be done right. When she raised her dagger at his back, she was stopped by her husband. That was the end of the Queen’s days and the beginning of Kyrell’s younger brother’s hatred towards him. As his father has continued to grow weak, he took up more responsibilities, becoming more social with the court though not enough to sway their suspicions at his father’s sudden demise.
Weapons/Combat style:
Kyrell carries hidden knives on his person and two one-handed long swords he dual wields on his hips. They are simple but sturdy steel blades with a green emerald cut roughly embedded in the pommel. He is stronger in defense than offense but his attacks are quick enough where he doesn’t stay defensive for long when he dual wields with his swords. He throws his knives or slits throats when he gets behind an opponent in a fight.
His trainer has also taught him to be unchallenged in hand-to-hand combat, his agility and martial arts borne from the highest quality teacher.
Appearance:
Black hair with purplish tint cascades down from his head, tied loosely with a strip of cloth and thrown over his shoulder so that the majority of it doesn’t get in his way. His eyes are that of his mother’s, a descendant of Fae, and they are the color of a clear sea on a sunny day. Refusing to wear bulky armor, as he prefers stealth, Kyrell wears simple plain robes and white scarf over a linen shirt and leather trousers and boots to his fashion-loving father’s horror. He wears gloves that act as protective bracers and prevents blisters on his hands but they are mostly to cover up scars that he gained when the cook pushed him into the fire pit as another attempt on his life. It is rare when he smiles, his face usually contorted in deep thought, annoyed, or mostly unreadable. His skin is mostly soft and fair, despite the occasional scars from assassination attempts on his being. Tall like his father, he stands at 6’2”, making his dark figure even more threatening as he looms over those that approach him.
