Constructing warstriders.

any guesses on why Warstrider construction follows different rules from constructing other artifacts.:

(note: It is alltogether under the new rules easier to construct a royal warstrider then any other kind of Level 5 artifact)

second any guesses why MORTAL THAUMATALAGY would be needed for the process?

Incorporation of all, besides, the Celestial won't craft every damn plate onthe thing, enlist the Terrestrials and mortal population to do it. A mortal may not have the acumen and puissance as a Solar in making things with raw will, but by God, he can whittle. And that's exactly what they did, whittle out parts from blocks of jade and steel.

I like that it's different, gives the game something more to it. Plus it would be boring to simply say, I craft one. Instead, it's a great endeavor for the entire nation that held the factories. Think of it like a public works project. Employed everyone to a great cause and funded the economy. Plus all the 'boot polish' in raw material shaved off would fund other artifact projects and sacrifices to the Gods.

yes... not sure if it would be difficult to get a construction team with the appropiate abilitys. since thats QUITE an education.

I'd go with essence squared, unless it's written down somewhere.

Or Lore squared.  That would make more sense.

I don't think it's listed in the book and I prefer it that way for the Solar charms at least.  I like the thought of a Solar being able to teach absolutely as many people as they can have congregrating around them from 1 disciple to 10,000 soldiers all at the same cost.

Of course all the written training charms require touching all of the recipients so that might take some work with a group of 10,000+.   ;)  I don't think it's unreasonable for higher essence charms to allow people being trained to just see or hear the teacher.

For the other Exalts I think I prefer a cap of magnitude or a scaling cost.  Especially for Lunars with that second option, I think it would be great if it was cheaper for them to train small packs (magnitude 1, maybe 2) than Solars, but much more expensive to train massive groups of people (mag 3 or 4+).

Well, you'd only have to do it once or twice a generation to keep the masses prepared to cover the efforts; after you grant 10,000 citizens 4 dots of Lore, Occult and Craft, they'll never, ever, work a farm or gaurd a city wall again.  It'd be poor economics if you worked that sort of training for every 5 Point Strider you make; no more sandwich makers or garbage men.

I'd go with "essence" magnitude, so that at first its only a dozen or so... but gradualy you can train whole armies.

And yes, eventualy it WOULD mean the end of garbage, men, and sandwich makers.I think they can have automata for that by then.

I haven't gotten myself a copy of Wonders of a Lost Age yet. Can anyone tell me how different is creating a warstrider from a regular artifact? And what is the minimum dots for the common warstrider?

Commons are Artifact three. They require factories and a year's work to craft with many finely made parts and pieces. It would take a bit to describe how long it takes and what goes into making them.

it requires its Artifact level +1 times 10 successes, to a maximum of 60 for a royal warstrider, instead of the 250, for makng any other level 5 artifact...

am I being silly?
