"The world is not as we know it. Darkness lurks withing the depths of the shadows, waiting to strike upon an old enemy. But we ignorant humans are oblivious to an oncoming war. No one ever sees it coming. They take you in the night, pulling you from the world you knew and into theirs. One moment you're safe withing your bed and the next moment you're on a ship, with 6 others who have been taken just as you have. Then out of nowhere a storm appears, striking the ship with a crack of lightning. This happens again and again until suddenly, the clouds disappear and before you looms an island like that of no other...The Hidden Island."
"Seven mortals, of not this world, shall take up arms against the shadows.
Then seven more, from land as home, they carry into battle.
Heart of dragon, blood of elf, is they who you shall seek.
If nothing else, and all else fails, the darkness preys the weak."
Hidden from the world in The Devil's Sea is an entire mass of land, untouched by any man or beast other than the ones that strive there. Creatures that we once thought to be myth...are no longer legend. Dragons, Elves, Faeries, Demons, Dwarves. All are real. Protected by the power of magic, they have remained in this world under the radar of every human being.
But now, a great evil is rising, preparing to destroy this land and every one of its inhabitants. All hope was thought to be lost until...a prophecy. Seven mortals on the backs of their bonded, shall battle against the darkness, in an effort to save a land that they never knew existed. Will they rise to the task and trump this ancient shadow of evil, or will they fall in defeat, and die with the rest of them...

Surrounded by spells put in place eons ago, the hidden society is concealed within the Devil's Sea. Hundreds upon thousands of ships have been lost to the magic of the land, vanishing into thin air, never to be found again. This stretch of sea is controlled by powerful sorcery that is upheld by the riders. For years, mortals have set out to explore the mysterious waters, and each time they would either end up dead or missing. The legend of the Devil's Sea is no legend...creatures live beyond the borders of the triangle; thriving in a society that no one ever thought to be possible.

Stretching 450 miles wide, the Hidden Island expands immensely across the Devil's Sea. This massive expansion of land is occupied hundreds of creatures, both mythical and mortal. The Northern coast belongs solely to the Dragons. Along the West however, the coast is the land of the Dwarves. That leaves the South to the Elves. All three territories come together at an intersection know as the center of the Dragon's Triangle. It is here that the Council meets.

At first there was nothing, not light nor dark, star nor world. Nothing. And then, out of the nothingness came Light, and with it Darkness. The Light illuminated everything that was nothing and life was born. Galaxies upon galaxies were made in the presence of Light. Then within these galaxies were stars, and worlds, and upon the worlds creatures began to form. But Light was particularly fond of a specific world, and that world's name was Earth. She basked the planet in her holiness, and it flourished, not in size, but in life.
Five Races were born in her image: Elves, Dwarves, Faeries, Dragons, and Demons. All of which lived together in harmony, but this peace was not long lasted, for Darkness was a mischievous being. He lived to ruin everything that Light created. So in an effort to wreak havoc upon earth, Darkness entered the world as a new being; Man. He began to embed each of the races with cruelty. Elves with Dishonesty. Dwarves with Narcissism. Faeries with Mischief. Dragons with Pride. And Demons with Maleficence.
The world started to fall to pieces. At first it was just the Demons battling with the Dwarves, but then Man sided with Demons, and War broke out. Faeries, Demons, and Man joined together as the Sicarius. Elves and Dwarves as the Custos. Dragons, being the prideful creatures they were, chose not to enter the war, henceforth leading to Man's takeover. Without the powerful wrath of the Dragons, the Custos were no match for three races.
Sicarius annihilated them, to the point of near extinction. The loss of the war sent Elves and Dwarves into hiding. By this time the Dragons had sided with the Custos, but were unable to do anything against Man and its allies. So the once magnificent beasts concealed themselves in the place now known as The Devil's Sea. Man, Demon, and Faerie ruled side by side, but Man was full of greed. He turned against the Demons and Faerie, forcing them too into secrecy. And the Age of Man began. Elves, Dwarves, Faeries, Demons, Dragons. All turned to myth...but the truth is they still live among us, hiding withing the human world.
With scorching summers and mild winters, the Hidden Island has a climate similar to that of Mexico. Mountains are plentiful on the southern region, just as rolling hills line the northern peninsula. Rivers run rampant throughout the island, and lakes aren't uncommon. However in the mid eastern region there's a desert known for its burning heat. Volcanoes aren't uncommon, and neither are forests. But over all the island is just a regular island...despite its inhabitants.
The native language of the Island is Latin. However the people have adapted the English language and therefore only use Latin for writing and certain words.

There are 2 forms of Magic
:Lux and Mali:
Each of which can be used in 4 different ways;

- Natural
- Graveolentiam (Offensive)
Luxian Magic is used by the Custos for purer(the greater good) reasons.
Malian magic is used by the Sicarius for evil, more malicious reasons.
---
Magic comes from the heart, but the strength of Magic depends on the mental and physical strength and endurance of the user. In order to increase physical and mental strength a user must practice with magic. The longer you practice the more experienced you become.
Levels are the rank in which you cast. They're dependent on the users strength, endurance, experience, and skill.
:Levels:
- Beginner
-Intermediate
-Advanced
-Expert
-Master

Elemental Magic
Self explanatory. Magic consisting of the use of elements in any way.
-Fire
-Water

Vindex
The use of magic for Protection. For example; The casters who uphold the island's magic barriers use Vindex Magic.
Natural
Magic used for natural reasons other than combat.
Graveolentiam
Offensive magic used during battle, combat, or practice. Many of these spells are used to harm or even kill an opponent.
Here upon the Hidden Island, Government takes on a different form; Council.
As Man took over and they were forced into hiding, a new society was born. The Custos fled to a giant mass of land, just off the coast of what is now known as Japan. They concealed the massive island with the magic in which they possessed, safe once more from the treachery of Darkness. But safe as they were, the people were weak and without a leader. To make it worse a terrible plague was killing them off, one by one, spreading across the land like wildfire.
When all was lost, and Man ruled the outer world, a Light shone through the Darkness, and the Riders were born. Watching from above, their creator sent them one last gift: The Bonded. A Rider and Dragon, sent to lift them back up to greatness. And so...there was hope once more. The first Bonded pair came to the Island with health and prosperity, healing them from the plague, and pulling them out of the shadows into which they had fallen. And the
Custos willingly followed. Kingdoms were built out of ruins and they flourished once more.
The Dwarves ruled their kingdom, the Elves theirs, and the Dragons ruled the Skies. Each race had representatives upon the Council. And so they became The Leaders of the Land. At this time the single Bonded pair ruled over everything, including the Council. But the people accepted this. Soon after Dragons began to bond with riders, and the power that the Bonded shared became unstoppable. The peace has lasted, that is until now. Darkness threatens the Island once again. Their magic is weakening, the protectors are faltering, and the spells that once protected the island are fading.
Council consists of the following...
The Imperators (A Dragon and Its Rider)
4 Representatives from each land. (Elves, Dragons, and Dwarves)
Islanders believe that everything is a part of the great chain. An order in which Light stands above all, and Darkness rots at the end of the link.

Elves:
Elves, like Dwarves, are Children of Light and thus are very similar to Dwarves. Unlike Dwarves, however, they are immortal, in that their bodies do not age once they have reached maturity, so that they do not seem to become elderly or die of old age. They can be killed by physical injury however, or they may come to death from wasting away if after long eons of life they lose the will to live. Elves are generally handsome of face and body. They have far better vision and hearing than Men. They also have skills and abilities, and perception of things around them, far greater than that of Men. Whether this is an innate quality or is the result of experience after having lived so long is not known. Being as they are believers in Light, the Elves possess the ability to use magic, and when bonded with a Dragon partner the Elves power is greatly magnified. They also have a great love of nature, evidenced by their architecture. The elves love art and music, filling their homes with beautiful things. Poetry is likewise appreciated and organizations are dedicated to preserving these songs. Most elves are more gifted with magic than the other races, and have an innate knowledge of their true power, thus making them more powerful than other races.

Dwarves:
Dwarves were one of the only races native to Earth. Known as lovers of rock and stone, Dwarves have a long lifespan and often lived in large, underground cities in the Mountains. Though their lives are long lived, Dwarves are not immortal, and are often outlived by Elves. Dwarves are a proud and stern race, made to be sturdy to resist the dangers of their time. They are physically very strong, have great endurance, especially in the ability to resist heat and cold, and they made light of heavy burdens. Dwarves live longer than Men, often up to two hundred and fifty years, but not longer than most Elves. Dwarves are typically stubborn, secretive, and fiercely loyal to their friends. They care greatly about mining, crafting, crafts, gold and gems, their acquisition of which often fueled the envy of the Elves. Dwarves are easily offended by rude comments, and have a propensity to hold long-lasting grudges. Dwarves are often seen as greedy, but their nature gave them resistance to many external influence, including to the evil of Darkness. Whereas the Men were corrupted by Darkness power, the Dwarves were unaffected, save by an increase of their goldlust and hatred for anything that stood between them and what they perceived as their treasure.

Faeries:
"Do not sign any contracts or agree to any bargains with faeries. Faeries love to haggle but will usually do so only if they are sure they will win. Do not eat or drink anything a faerie gives you. Do not go attend their magical revels under the hills. They will paint a beautiful picture of what awaits you there, but its beauty is false and hollow. Do not tease a faerie about their height. Do not expect direct answers to direct questions. Do expect indirect answers to indirect questions." - Unknown
---
{After the war the Faerie species, who fought on the side of Man, were betrayed by their Mortal Allies and were forced to blend in with the new world. Present Day Faerie easily blend in with Man, but have lost their immortality, and now only live for as long as Mortals.}
Faeries, also known as the Fair Folk or fey, were once an extremely cunning immortal race of Earth. They have both Light and Dark blood, attributing to both their beauty and their malevolence. Being children of Light and Dark by origin, the faeries are associated with the beauty of angels and the viciousness of demons. Also as believers of Darkness, the magic in which they possess is Mali. The Fair Folk are known for their unearthly beauty and fair skin, appearing in various pastel hues of blues, greens, and violets, even pearl, to name a few. Faeries commonly incorporate flora and multiple forms of vegetation as part of their ensemble. Many faeries are extremely attractive with delicate and regal faces and exquisitely colored features, such as their eyes, with colors "as clear as glass." They are known for their cunning and their cruel sense of humor, and they especially delight in tricking Mortals. The Fair Folk are also unable to lie. They might, however, tell what they believe is true, even if it is not. They may also expertly weave lies into sentences by using methods such as not telling the whole truth, letting others assume things, or not correcting the people with whom they're speaking; this does not, however, apply to half-fey; who are a race of human blood and Faerie.

Demons:
Demons are the least understood of all beings. They, like the Faerie, were betrayed by man and forced to blend into modern day society. Not much is known of these secretive beings.
Lifespan: Unknown
Appearance: Humanoid
Casting Ability: Unknown
Population: Unknown
Blessed/Cursed: Cursed
Magic: Mali
Deity: Darkness

Dragons:
Dragons are an ancient race of sentient creatures native to the Hidden Island. While most roam free and do not commonly associate with the civilizations of other races, a significant number are the mounts and life-long companions of the Dragon Riders. The dragons of Earth are reptilian, with scales, sharp teeth, varying wing types, and a tongue that is covered with hooked barbs. They develop the ability to breathe fire as they mature, and their color varied from dragon to dragon. Dragons can grow to be larger than most houses and some older, ancient dragons can be confused with large hills. They are unfading and do not die, unless by wounds in battle or by sickness. There is no limit to a dragon's size, as they grow continuously. Dragon's scales are very strong, capable of deflecting bullets, even on the underbelly. The wings are the weakest part of their body, yet also the most important. Females tended to be more aggressive, vain, and stronger than males. As believers in Light, a Dragons power is greater than any Humanoid race, and when bonded with a rider their magnificent power is magnified.
