Clusterf@%k to the V'Neef House

Here's a thread to talk about my players' encounters with Mahina V'Neef, moved so as to stop polluting the intention of the original thread.

I have ideas of what can happen in reaction to whatever the PCs do. And yes, fleeing quickly and running straight to Sessus Lahor is at the top of the list, especially since she'll be needing to save her daughter from the rampaging demonic solars. Meanwhile the mortal martial artists hold the line, and maybe even hurt someone a little).

Yes, Mahina's daughter is with her. I figured she could give the young Heir someone to interact with, but that may not happen now.

No gaming document survives contact with my demented mind unscathed. :)

It's a really weird coincidence that you have a character named Mahina V'Neef in your game, because in the book, there's a character named V'Neef Mahina. ;)

With the use of Majestic Radiant Presence, they can't attack them so maybe you could emphazis the scene ala Tarentino. Describe that everyone aimed at everyone but couldn't "fire".

Example of lines

Mahina : "Release the boy, even if you put my gards down, i could alert every single Dragon-Blooded of this town before you cut my throat"  (Manip 3 Soc 4 and let's give her some social-fu and spend three willpower)

Dugan : "Don't , they are my friends, they saved my life."

Mahina : "Get to your sense! You are a heir of the Realm, do not allow these monsters corrupt you, you could'nt ignore their unnatural influence over us. Come with me! I know your family."

etc

Maybe they could handle the situation and don't get it worst.

I think that V'neef Mahina would initiate a social combat before engaging the suicide. It is maybe her first enconter with anahema but a wyld hunt party rely upon a legion and surprise for one of them.

Given her caregiver nature, she will not despise the havock the boogeymen can provoke in the tent city.

Plus they've got an hostage, and she could try to understand the meaning of this situation to advance the V'neef agenda.I don't think she might help them but if they conviced her that they care about the boy, she could consider that they are not just rampaging monsters.

After the encounter, her curiosity will be triggered and she could spy them by a way or another. She could have a man whose sole purpose will be to convey the intel she has gathered to the nearest large scale of terrestrial forces if they threaten her life.

If she is not caught and they are "bad" people, she will organize an ambush with Sesus Lahor in the widerness and lot of men. If they are descent people, maybe she will join forces with them to get more depth intel about them.

The PCs went full defensive while Dugan (run by a player) prostrated himself and explained their history. Mahina, not wanting Lahor anywhere near the throne but knowing she can't protect Dugan herself eventually called off the ineffectual attack and talked. dugan is still travelling with them, and now knows more about his heritage.

Lahor knows about the solars (because the first thing Mahina did was tell her daughter to flee to him). At first he only knew of one so he went to their army camp and there was a bit of a skirmish. Now he knows there are at least 4, and assumes there are five. He, the other dragon blooded in The Knob, and his 500 troops are slowly tracking the party through the wilderness towards the Fortress.

I haven't decided yet whether I'll add a Sidereal advisor for Lahor to up the stakes even more.
