Laugh Like You've Won Always
Ha Naseon
"Hey, you wanna get hit?" Naseon glowered up at the pale man that was talking shit. "I'll lay your corpse-looking face to rest real quick."
Sorri ignored Naseon and greeted his new friend with a cheerful smile. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Minseo," he spoke politely to the older girl. "It looks like we got lucky. We're also looking for teammates for the Team Battle. We'd love to join with your incredible team, if you'll have us."
"I didn't agree to this," Naseon growled from the floor. "Why should I team up with people weaker than myself?"
"But I thought you planned on taking on the Team Battle all on your own?" Sorri apologized to Minseo with his eyes as he spoke to Naseon's ego. "You said yourself that you didn't care about the reward, you just wanted to beat up something you didn't have to hold back against. So if you were already carrying me through the battle, what difference does a few more people make?"
Naseon crossed his arms and closed his eyes. "Do whatever you want," he eventually said, giving the kid's argument its win.
Sorri laughed at his bashful teammate. "Don't mind him," Sorri said to Minseo. "His personality might be as bad as his shinsoo control, but I can vouch for his strength. He is a member of the Ha family after all. Ha Naseon. I'm Sorri, Sorri Sturluson. Unlike my friend, I'm not very strong, so I hope I won't slow you down." Naseon made a point of rolling away from the girl's offered hand to get up off the floor on his own, and Sorri reached out to shake Minseo's hand himself, once again matching Naseon's disrespect with his own friendliness. He doubted Naseon was oblivious enough to try and pick a fight with his own now-teammates the day before an important event, but he could be wrong.
"So," Naseon stood back up his chair and grabbed Sorri's empty drink cup, clearly intending to leave this place. He figured this team thing was why Sorri had wanted to stick around waiting here, so there was no point in staying any longer. "Which one of you is the smart one on your team? If you're fine with just winning tomorrow's battle I can do that on my own, you don't need to do anything, but if you're aiming for one of the special top prizes, then a last-minute team-up like this isn't gonna cut it, sorry."
"I don't think that's really-"
"So if you do want one of those, I expect the smartest one of you to come up with a good plan for the battle. If it's lame, I'll do my own thing and win however I want."
