• The Story

  The day began like any other for the inhabitants of Raccoon City, the sun shining, the birds singing and families waking up to get themselves ready for the daily routine. Yet this day would end in a way that nobody would have foresaw.
  
  Many had heard the stories and rumours about what happened in the Arklay Mountains and the missing S.T.A.R.S members, but they were so fantastical that they could never be true. The mansion had always been a source of great tales and even in the modern day little had changed, but at least now, the tales would forever change the face of Raccoon City.
  
  Deep beneath the ground in a facility that few in the city knew about, mistakes happened to unleash a virus unlike anything the world had seen before. Animals and humans alike weren't safe from its effects, mutating those exposed to it, turning them in the blood hungry monsters. Elderly neighbours, friendly shop assistants and the happy dog next door, all reduced to snarling, frothing beings driven only by the need to feed.
  
  Not everyone would fall to the initial onslaught of creatures, some would even see themselves through to daylight, but very few would live long enough to get out of the city...
  
  
• Plotline

  The RP takes place just as the outbreak gets a grip on the city. Characters will be starting in a diner, whether they are on a lunch break, working there or just popping in to get a drink to go. Either way, it is an easy way to get things started. They will be unaware of anything that is happening in the rest of the city because remember, this takes place in the late 90's and mobile phones weren't as reliable or prevelant as they are now.
  
  From there, depending on numbers, people may be split into two groups to help with the flow of posting. To keep things moving i'll be looking at having a weekly posting limit of one post per week where I will look to do an admin post every Sunday. If we ever have a few people behind then I may extend a few days, but mostly, i hope everyone can get posts up in those time frames.
  
  In terms of the characters, I really would like to see some good variety. There are plenty of "manly" jobs out there, not everyone needs to be a retired army veteran or a police officer to be able to survive the outbreak. In fact, it probably puts you more at risk as people rely on you to do the work. I want to see binmen, hairdressers, people who deliver pizza...the kind of jobs that normal, down to earth people do.
  
  The overall aim of the RP is to survive the monsters long enough to be able to escape before...well...you know...
  
  
• Note

  I don't want to overload people with rules and restrictions, but I have been in Resident Evil RP's previously so there are some restrictions that you'll find below. These are needed to avoid the rush and clamour to be the typical, go to characters that these RP's tend to attract.
  
  

  Rules

  The rules are:
  
  - This RP is explicitly 18+ only, this is both in terms of players but also characters.
  
  - This RP is survival horror in nature and so may feature themes and scenes that could feature potential triggers for people.
  
  - Standard RPN rules apply.
  
  - Posting expectation is once a week and more than just a few lines. I don't demand essays but a couple of paragraph would be great.
  
  - One rule that goes without saying, but i'll mention it just so I can refer to it if someone is, don't be a dick. This is an instant ban and your character will find themselves meeting a most unfortunate end.
  
  - Characters are open to be pretty much whatever you want, all genders and sexualities welcome. The only real restrictions are that nobody can be an Umbrella Mercenary, all characters must be original characters (no canon characters) and while not compulsory, I hope people avoid the generic police officer/army veteran route.
  
  - There may be some RPG elements involved with dice rolls to help decide the outcome of events. It won't just be, "oh look i found an assault rifle with unlimited ammo!"
  
  - Characters are not Rambo and are susceptible to harm. In some cases, characters may well die but that would be some absolutely terrible luck.
  
  - Knowledge of the Resident Evil games (1, 2 and 3) is beneficial, more for the monster knowledge than anything else.
  
  - Characters don't know what any of the monsters are.
  
  - There will be no psychic shenanigans or superhumans in this RP.
  
  - Some other things will come to mind but until then, please feel free to ask any questions.
