- Professions
-
You are lucky enough to have a parent, sibling, uncle or friend teach you the tools of his or her trade.
Your tutelage will be complete upon your 18th birthday.
You do not have to take on the profession, simply learn the skills.
Nature's Path:
You have learned the way of flora and fauna through a family friend.
(Your character can identify plant species from across Westeros and some of Essos and can identify animal tracks as well as are excellent at tracking them.)
Higher Education:
Your parents are friends with the local maester and he begins to teach you the ways of the learned. The culture, art, politics, geography and history of Westeros and Essos have been taught to you as well as the ways of medicine, healing and the natural sciences.
(Your character can heal the wounded, identify diseases/illnesses as well as be a source of information in regards to all peoples and politics known to Westeros and Essos.)
Merchant:
Your mother makes a living by selling a trading wares and you have been taught to do the same.
(Your character is extra charismatic, able to negotiate their way in lowering prices or perhaps even out of trouble from time to time.)
The Blade:
A family friend teaches you to fight. The weapons you learn to wield will depend on your region.
(You are able to wield any style of Westeros weapon with skill.)
Dancing Master:
You have been taught by a Master Fighter of your choice and have become proficient and deadly.
(You are proficient and deadly with a specific weapon type of your choosing.)
- Gifts
-
Your gift will be rare, valuable and in all likelihood irreplaceable.
Take care of it, nurture it and watch it grow.
Do not squander it.
Tools of the Trade:
Not long after your 18th birthday you will come into possession of one of the following three gifts - your choice.
The first is a full suit of plate armour of the highest make, in addition to a well-crafted shield and a weapon of your choice.
The second gift you may choose is a weapon of your choice crafted from Valyrian steel - stronger, sharper, lighter and much rarer and more expensive than any other steel.
The third gift you may choose is a weapon of your choice crafted from dragonglass. You will never break of lose this weapon.
Giant's Blood
They tell you that you have some giant's blook in you. You are not sure how that is possible but it seems you are simply naturally tougher, stronger and bigger than those around you.
You still have to work to become strong but the limits of your strength and stamina seem to be at least somewhat beyond of that of peak human.
However you are still 100% human and will never become nearly as strong as an actual giant.
A drawback is that you require more food than the average person and you require much more ale to get drunk than anyone else you know.
Valar Morghulis
Some time before your 18th birthday you unwittingly save the lives of a Faceless Man and his two companions.
The Faceless Man tells you that you have taken three lives from the Red God and the Red God will be wanting them back.
The Faceless Man will kill any three people you name, at any time, you may declare the words:
"Valar Morghulis" followed by the name of any person, the Faceless Man will kill that person.
(Cannot be used on other PC's unless agreed upon)
Animal Companion
(exotic - regional)
On your 12th birthday you found an animal. From that day forward until the day it dies this animal will never stray from you.
It's a good deal stronger, faster, tougher and more intelligent than other animals of its species and has been a great friend and able guardian to you.
(No dragons but other exotic animals do exist)
Touched by Magic
(elemental)
Magic is not extinct, it has simply become exceedingly rare and a good deal less powerful.
It seems, however, that the gods have touched you with a magical affinity.
(These abilities make you less susceptible to your attuned element: fire doesn't burn as quickly, however cold can be deadly, etc.)
- Curses
-
Incomplete:
Only those born male may choose this option:
When you were six years old for some unknown reason you were kidnapped and emasculated.
You were found and nursed back to health but the damage was done.
In addition to the obvious drawbacks you are also constantly made fun of by all members of society.
The villain who emasculated you is still out there but they are very difficult to find.
And Now My Watch Begins
Your character is destined for the Wall. Be it due to birth or the wishes of your hateful Lord,
you will one day find yourself standing amidst the criminal refuse where you will
have to take the oath of the Night's Watch.
Disfigured
You are born an oddly-proportioned dwarf or at some point in your childhood you receive a horrifying disfigurement.
Expect to be treated with varying degrees of ridicule, fear, shock and pity.
(Any type of disfigurement would be acceptable as long as it cannot be hidden)
Without a House
(cannot be a major house - Stark, Lannister, etc. but can be a lesser house)
Not born to a noble house, you have no name of your own and are sworn to a House in the countryside where you were born.
You grew up poor, hungry and praying for salvation.
The noble houses do not respect you and you will never marry higher than your stature.
Touched by Death
Before your 18th birthday you receive a nightmare. In this nightmare you die a painful, violent death long before your time.
(Details are your choice, your character dies IC and you can make a new one)
Arryn - Safton
Blackwater - Crono
Greyjoy - NanLia
Velaryon - sitanomoto
Lannister - Archon
Locke - Kameron Esters-
Clegane - D3lmoniko
