intro
heaven is here;
florence + the machine
"How long until we reach the stars?"
Courage must conquer cowardice, if you are to survive the winter of this world...
prologue:
"they with no soul,
repulse temptation,
deliver from the depths,
to find the truest form,
of daemon bond,
cut the chain of a child,
to be released from uncertainty
Three children
and daemon,
blessed souls,
escape their world
to pay the price
of humanities sin."
The writing is faint, unclear to see, with letters scrawled off at the end as if written by a drunkard...
To cut through reality, as if fine ceremonial tape draped across an entrance to an exciting establishment. You allow yourself to open your arms, into a world that is not your own; the only familiarity of your daemon who haphazardly follows you tightly, their snout reaching to guide you into the unknown abyss.
The aurora is said to be the gateway between universes; the balance between life and death. The green, blues and yellows reflect warped visions of a hectic city hidden in the cosmic colour of light. The aurora borealis reflects an angelic artistry, unknown to man… Its craft is so intricate, stripping the title of each and every said expert, bringing them back to square one.
Seemingly something only children with their unformed daemons can dream of: angels, giant ice bear...Tales of Gobblers; perverse child-catchers that use children in their experiments... But what if it was true? What if angels are the rulers of the world and everything you know of is just a scripted prophecy?
premise:
This role-play follows three main characters and their daemons who must outwit their stationary life and grow into the children of the prophecy, unbeknownst that it danger faces their way.
With unexpected arrival of Miss Ingrid, conspiracies to begin thrive in the Sanctuary of the Scholars as an ill, yet perfectly, timed death of the Ancient Scholar, Briar, strikes.
Ingrid is an expensive and rich woman who promises of luxurious and lavish life with a mute, heavy bodied Bonobo daemon.
She talks enticing stories of new science, knowledge and mysterious land.... Praising the imaginative explorer's brilliant far-fetched tales, the angry child's strong willed personality and the the lost child's sensibility.
Charming the children very much so, Ingird offers a way to escape the confines of the Sanctuary and follow her into a world of unmistakable opportunities. Ingrid is wondrously enchanting, captivating and exotic so why would they decline?
Sanctuary of the Scholars:
a place far south, made for strenuous reading, teaching and studying. A Gothic building with mazes of corridors, haunted catacombs, secret passageways and vast libraries. The few privileged children the live there are put to work to study basic curriculum, cook, clean and serve their masters. Death has echoed through the silent halls as the Ancient Scholar, Briar passed away, with theories slithering around that he was in fact murdered by Miss Ingrid's daemon for these three children...
The three children are the only people below the age of 35 years old at the sanctuary... Are they being protecting them for a reason? Or are the scholars just as unaware as they are?
daemon clarity:
"the physical manifestation of a human soul, a human and their daemon are one being, it was physically and emotionally painful for them to separate too far from each other. Usually in the form of an animal, reflecting the human's spirit.
It is considered taboo for a person to touch another person's daemon. Humans whose daemons were touched by others generally felt a strong sense of repulsion.
Daemons are the opposite sex of their human's assigned gender."

The voice of reason for the small group... They are rather reclusive and secretive despite passionate love for their unconventional family and finds comfort in the fact that they are all orphans. They don't see it as a burden but a gift making them rather optimistic. Daemon is yet to settle...

They aren’t the best at communicating and are rather inarticulate when speaking. There is nothing really outstanding about them, keeping their intelligence to themselves. They try and succeed in joining in with the group, however are less likable due to their temper. Perhaps it is due to their age that they are considered weak. The group will protect them at any cost. Their daemon is yet to take form.

A street-wise character who has been at the Sanctuary for the longest. The head of the group who is able to balance things out: they are cool, collected and have a reputation with scholars and those working high in society. They know their job is to protect the young adults from any face of danger; whether that be to outwit a panserbjørn or tell stories of comfort. They have never really experienced death, or come close to it in the slightest... In fact, it is all a set up despite their daemon being a strong mammal or bird (for example, size ranging from a hyena to a leopard to a eagle...).
of any gender, age: 19-21.
the one who dares

A complete skeptic, The One Who Dares proves quite a challenge for the group of young adults. They are extremely temperamental with Ingird. Believing that her plan to swoop them away is too good to be true. They are some-what rebellious. Their daemon is unsettled however is soon to take complete form. (16-18, f/m/nb.)

rules:
Please follow RPN’s general rules; I do not have to list them as they should be obvious by now. However, this will include no bullying, harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
code is not necessary for character sheets and/or in character posting,
I won't put a cap on words, however three paragraphs minimum. My ideal role-play is personally full of detail and description. With that being said, quality over quantity!
Plotting is a must!
general
Face claims will need to be realistic. No anime or expressive cartoons or art. Daemons must be 'real world' animals so no mythical dragons etc...
I personally feel comfortable with players over 18. Although this is an universal series with heavy heart must I age restrict this to 18 plus.
This is not first come first serve.
Edit: ROLES ARE IDEAS. They have been created mainly for everyone to have freedom.
inside.
This roleplay is HEAVILY based on the series, rather than the books. Any book knowledge is much appreciated, though!
