I normally only do traditional art, last time I did digital was many years ago when I was a lot younger and when my tastes were.... A LOT different. But I’ve been trying to get back into it, and recently I’ve been doing some portraits and trying out different brushes and painting styles. I’m still not sure I’ve found a style that I’m comfortable with, and I definetly need to figure out a way to speed up the whole process. But I figured that I might as well share some of them here. Most of them are my OC:s, but others are just doodles. They’re all facing forward, wich is kinda boring and unfamiliar to me, but I needed to start with something simple to get the technique down. Will definetly start experimenting with more fun and dynamic angles soon!

A more rendered full-body shot of an OC! Painting metals and cloth is so hard, I really needed this exercise lol

Tried out some character designs while doodling. I liked this cat/spider/girl especially. Might try to finish a painting of her sometime...

Another portrait, this time in a more painterly style. I always struggle with male faces, they always end up looking more androgynous I feel.

I can see the androgeny, but this does look like a nice young male. Maybe drawing more aged men may help. Or facial hair?
