Realistic or Modern Cleartown High

Leah starts humming to a song that her grandma would sing to her when she was small, and she keeps pulling grass. She loved the feel of the soft blades on her fingertips.

She looked over to Nemo and smiled, before she held up her pinky. "Promise we'll be best friends forever?"

Lupa hummed softly, "Well, admittedly, they did seem to jump to conclusions, but I cannot speak from their experiences, so I wont base my opinion on theirs." she said, "And everyone is inspirational. You're a person, aren't you? Book characters are people, too." she explained. "And if it makes you feel any less embarrassed, it wasn't so much you, as it was your words." she added.

Nicks mother greeted him, surprisingly with the information that she was going out with an old friend that night. Nikoli didn't think that she had any friends considering they moved about too much to really make them. He put the groceries away as his mother walked out the door to wherever it was she was going and looked around the messy trailer awkwardly. He wondered if the others were still at the park, and then looked out of the window, thinking. He decided that he had nothing to stay home for, and grabbed his leather jacket, heading to the park. He knew where it was, he'd passed it in the car yesterday. When he got there he saw everyone sat around. Should he join them or just go back home? They might not want him to join them.

Ashton pulls into her driveway and turns off her car, quickly getting out. She walks inside and closes the door making her way up to her room where she lays down and closes her eyes, thinking about what happened when she left school.

Kay looked up from the swing, snapping out of the thoughts of her brother and mom back home. She needed to get back, but she really enjoyed being around these people. They made her feel... normal.

She looked at Nemo and Leah, who were lying down and decided against interrupting them. They looked peaceful.

"I wish I could have that someday." She mumbled ruefully and looked away from them, towards the gate of the park.

There was a figure walking towards them. Nick.

"Hey Nikoli!" She called out, waving.

Nick waved at Kay and walked over, kicking a stone along with him. "Hey," he smiled and sat down on the swing next to her. "Turns out Linda's going out tonight so I thought I could probably find you guys here." He always called his mom Linda, she let him after all. It just didn't come natural to him to call her anything else.

Kayleigh nodded. "I assume Linda is your mom?" She said, and it came out more as a statement than a question. She pumped her legs a little and swung back and forth, something her brother used to do for her

"Yep, Linda is my mom." He looked around the park, it was very... Parky? He didn't know how to describe a park, it had trees and grass and people, like normal parks, so... Parky. He used his foot to move back and forth slightly, not swinging like Kayleigh.

Ashton sighs softly and opens her eyes, her fingers tracing the scar on her arm. After a while she finally gets up and goes downstairs seeing a note from her parents. She reads it and lets out a deep sigh. "Yeah I'll go get the things on your grocery list...." She grumbles and grabs her car keys before heading out of the house and to her car. She takes a few deep breathe before getting in and pulling out of the driveway, heading towards Tom's Super Prices.

"Well this is nice. Silence. Who knew, huh?" She smirked. Around Kay, there was rarely any silence. She surrounded herself with loud people, because she hated being alone with her thoughts. But this was actually nice.

Ashton taps her steering wheel nervously as she drives. She just wanted to be at home in her bed, sleeping. Or reading a book. Anything to get her mind off of things.

Nick half smiled, using his hand to take away the hair from his eyes. He rarely liked silence, it always felt awkward and tense to him. He had a loud family, his mother had a voice that could shout down an army, and his cousins were louder than two armies put together. "Silence is..." He raised an eyebrow trying to think of something, "silence is boring." He looked around the park again, and saw a car driving by, Ashton driving it. He hoped she'd be okay.

Ashton pulls up into the parking lot of the grocery store, not having noticed everyone at the park. She walks inside and begins to gather everything she needs.

"I'm many things, deep ain't one of 'em." He laughs, taking off his leather jacket and dumping it at the side of him. He remembered when he'd stolen that, I mean he wasn't proud of stealing or anything but it was a nice jacket and it cost too much. His mother stole all the time so... He'd just taken it, it had felt great, and now he wore it all the time.

"That's a nice jacket." Kay told him, nodding her head towards the leather jacket he had just dumped on the floor.

Suddenly, she jumped off the swing in mid-air. "Alright. Enough chit-chat. Let's do something fun!"

Ashton sighs when she has every thing on the list and quickly pays for it all. She walks back outside towards her car and pops open the runk, beginning to put everything away.

"Fun? Like what?" Nick laughs and stands up, grabbing his jacket and tying it around his waist. "You mean there's actually fun things to do in this town?" He didn't know anything about the town, but they were all mainly the same. Boring.

Kay laughed and shook her head. "Nope. But that just means easily scared civilians. It's time to turn illegal." She grinned darkly. "Well, not really. Just pranks." She shrugged innocently and smiled at Nick

"Like?" He asks, elongating the I. He'd done plenty of illegal things in his time and he supposed pranks were sort of fun but if he got in trouble or anything his mom would be angry considering they were living there for a year and he'd need to fit in.

Ashton finishes putting the grocery's in her trunk. She closes the back and walks over to the drive side, climbing in and starting her car before pulling out of her parking space and driving back towards her house. She glances towards the parks as she begins to pass it and sees Nick and the others. She bites her lower lips and shakes her head deciding not to pull over.

"Well, there's this one thing I do. I generally go over to the supermarket and drop random items in people's baskets inconspicuously. It's fun to see them wonder where the stuff is coming from." Kay shrugged. She had done a lot of silly things with the stoners around school, back when she hung out with them.

Nick raised an eyebrow, that sounded kind of lame. "Any other things?" He laughs a little, trying to think of something, slipping on his jacket. He thought about going home to watch a movie, but he couldn't just abandon Kayleigh now and it's not like he was gonna take her back to his trailer when he didn't even know her, and he didn't want her to get the wrong idea. Plus, what would she think of his trailer? Its a mess, and well.. Its a trailer.

Ashton sighs softly as she passes the park and makes her way back to her house. Once she gets there she pulls into her driveway and pops open the trunk before turning the car off. She hops out of her seat and goes to the back of her car, beginning to grab the grocery's.

"Really? Why don't you suggest something to do in this boring town, oh great master-of -pranks?" She raised an eyebrow at Nick.

(I just stepped into a puddle eeeew)
