So my ideas are based on Cinderella. If you are interested there are a medieval theme or a modern theme.
Option 1:
Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived with her mother and father. One day her father passes away, leaving her with her mother who often received gold from her childless Aunt who lived in the Northern part of the Kingdom. Her mother was often out visiting her Aunt and one day the girl's mother returns with a man and his two daughters. They quickly look around the house and mention things about how old the house was and how dirty the little girl was. After a few visits like that the man and her mother marry, and instead of the mother and daughter staying, they leave to move in with the girls new step family. The girl's mother continues to make visits to her Aunt and eventually the two get sick, and unfortunately only the Aunt survives. The step father is quick to bury the woman and continue life as it was before. Soon the girl wasn't allowed to eat with the family, not speak unless spoken to, until finally she was forced to wear rags and sleep in the attic. Her name was Ella and then they began calling her names. Ten years later and Ella still remains in the house and is forced to be a servant. She remains kind through it all.
This would start after the time skip and the ball is only a week away. I would play Ella, the step sisters, the Aunt and anyone else that is needed at that time. If you could be the Step Father and the Prince that would be awesome!

In a small town there lives a mother and daughter who work hard to pay rent on time. The mother works at a local cafe, where the daughter loves to hang out. One day, while working the girl's mother meets the next love of her life. The man has a nice steady job and one daughter that is a year older than her Katie. They go on many dates until finally they get married. The man then moves them to his penthouse apartment. Life was looking good until Katie's mother passes away on her way to work. The man becomes cold to the child, calling her a burden and how all of her mothers debts are now her problem. The girl quickly becomes a live in servant to the step family. Katie had to fight to even go to school since the man thought that it didn't matter. She saves every cent that her step family gives her since it didn't "feel right" to have her work for free. She hopes that one day she could leave and maybe go to college. Then one day it was announced on the local radio that if someone designed a dress for a contest they would get $10,000 and an article written about them in the best fashion magazine "Thread and Fabric". Katie wants to enter, but her step sister has a different goal in mind. To meet the editor-in-chief's son, who is the most eligible young men in the county. No one knows much about him, besides those who are invited to the elite parties. Like her step father.
So this would start on the morning of the contest announcement. Once again, I would be Katie and anyone else who is needed at that moment, and if you could be the Step Father and the "Prince" character.
