okay, before we start introductions, i wanted to give everyone who’s reading a small warning. i’ve made quite a few profiles on here before, and none of them really panned out. oftentimes, i forgot about messages, got anxious and skipped out (feel free to judge), or life just got in the way. i can’t promise that those things won’t happen again. but i will make an effort to be more communicative with the people who’ve expressed interest in writing with me.
with that note out of the way, welcome to my humble little search thread! my name is josephine, but please call me josie. it’s really nice to meet you! i’m fifteen (almost sixteen, thank god), a proud cat mom of five, and i live in the est timezone. i guess that doesn’t really matter, though, because my sleep schedule is pretty turned around, so you can find me online at odd hours. ah, anyway, i won’t bore you with unimportant details. let’s get onto what you really came here for, hm? if you’re interested, feel free to shoot me a message! please don’t comment unless you have to, though.
also, i'm sorry that some of this feels a bit... off? i wrote part of it in the middle of the night, right after i'd woken up, and didn't feel like changing it.

averaging five hundred to a thousand words per post and being able to exceed that number if given enough to work with, i’d like to think that i’m a rather descriptive roleplayer. of course, to some of you more advanced people out there, those are rookie numbers, but whatever. it’s all about perspective, right? anyway, in addition to that, i also write in the third person, as it comes more naturally to me. if preferred, though, I can use first-person.
let’s see… i’m more than open to any kind of genre, from tooth-rotting fluffy romance to gory-as-shit angsty horror. given a good enough plot, even a slice-of-life story can be fun. just let me know what you would like to do, and we can talk about it. i’m not at all picky. that said, though, there are some things i will flat-out refuse to do.
generally, i prefer to write queer pairings more often than straight ones, seeing as i've done more of those in the past than i can count. this isn't super important or anything. it's just something i thought i should mention to avoid disappointing someone who's only interesting in m/f. not to say that i never do straight romances, of course. i'm just less likely to agree to them.
as for my posting schedule, i don't have one. replies may come three times a week or once. it all depends on the school, my motivation to write, where we are in the plot... the one thing I can promise is that if a reply takes more than a week to finish, you'll know. i don't want to keep anyone waiting, after all.

#1. since my posts are on the longer side, most of the time, i’d like for my partners to be capable of writing a minimum of four hundred words. although i don’t mind shorter replies, i'm trying to get back into the game, and i want something that will definitely keep my interest.
#2. discord is a no from me. the roleplays i’ve had over there almost always get forgotten, the character limit is incredibly frustrating, and i’m not a huge fan of its user interface either. i’d much rather keep our roleplays on this site in private messages. this may change, but i doubt it.
#3. don’t have me do all of the work, please. i get that it’s hard to be creative sometimes, and i’m not exempt from it either, but when all you have to say is “whatever you want,” it will make it much harder to plot a story. i want to hear your ideas, what you like and don’t care for, what dynamic you want for our characters, etc.
#4. when you message me, tell me what you’d be interested in doing. what plots caught your eye, pairings, things like that. it makes the whole process go much faster if we skip the customary “hi, would you like to roleplay?” question. i adore ooc chatting, but that can wait until we’ve got a solid base for our story, yeah?

#1. muse a works in espionage, a very elite department that, for all intents and purposes, does not exist. they are the very best at what they do but always work alone. muse b functions within the same secret department, and although they are a few years muse a’s junior, their skill set rivals that of muse a.
one particular mission comes across that seems to be tailor-made for muse a, with one catch. to infiltrate an international weapons ring run by a suspected corrupt ambassador, they cannot act alone but instead need to assume the identity of an international weapons inspector with a wavering sense of duty - including their devoted spouse (or professional associate), muse b.
this mission will extend on for an undetermined amount of time as muse a and muse b work together in the foreign country to gain the trust of the ambassador and gather the concrete proof they need to confirm suspicions. it’s a never-ending whirlwind of black-tie galas and the finest cocktails, rubbing shoulders with the most influential, and lies and deceit as they gather the information required to bring the underground ring crumbling down.
purely by nature, the spies are reluctant to act as a cohesive whole, but duty demands they watch the other’s back at all times and maintain the facade.
as time goes on, will they warm up to one another and come to appreciate the other's talent and skills, or will they merely wait for the other to make a grave mistake and leave an opening to eliminate their competition? it’s easy enough to make it look like an accident. ( plot credit: plotsforall.)
#2. muse a, a tenacious crime boss, is frustrated by yet another news headline about a significant crime bust in the city which has ties to their own illicit operations. it seems that the mayor’s been making good on his promise to eradicate crime as of late (probably because he’s looking to run for senator in the upcoming elections) and that ultimately spells trouble for muse a.
it’s only a matter of time before someone from the mayor’s camp comes sniffing around muse a’s nightclub, which operates as a front for their money laundering, but muse a wants the mayor dealt with before that happens. as fate would have it, muse a isn’t the only one who wants the mayor gone.
muse b, the mayor’s child, sees right through the teleprompter speeches, contrived family photo ops, and the empty promises of a crime-free city. muse b has seen and heard their father conducting his own illegal practices and knows firsthand that the mayor is not a good man.
muse b has lost all respect for their corrupt father and only feels disdain and fear toward him. it’s by coincidence that muse b enters muse a’s nightclub after a volatile confrontation with their father, but it isn’t a coincidence when muse a recognizes muse b and invites them to the vip area to talk.
in this secluded area of the club, muse b spills all of their concerns to muse a, and muse a offers protection in exchange for information. muse b agrees to spy on their father for muse a, with one condition. at the opportune moment, muse a will get rid of the mayor. ( plot credit: plotsforall.)
#3. the year is 2124. due to extremely limited resources and overpopulation of the planet, once people reach a specific age, they must be euthanized. upon a person’s xth birthday, people must report to a sleep facility where they will be put to sleep by a sweet-smelling toxin. the only people exempt from this fate are enforcers of the law, who are in charge of tracking down those who attempt to escape.
muse a is an infamous enforcer with a nearly impeccable record of captures, and muse b is a rebellious citizen who has just turned of age. muse b has learned of a secret sanctuary for people who have successfully escaped and continue to live out their days in an underground society.
they assemble only the bare essentials for survival and begin the journey, but with muse a hot on their trail, will muse b be able to evade them long enough to join the handful of others who have successfully disappeared? ( plot credit: plotsforall. )
#4. according to sailor legends, merpeople are beautiful and benevolent beings who guide lost ships to harbor and bring great fortune to kind fishermen who empty their nets for a chance to hear a merperson’s song. the song of a merperson is an ethereal treat that few people at sea (and even fewer on land) have the privilege of hearing. but those who do are said to be blessed for the rest of their days.
muse a is a merperson, born to a merman and a sea witch. cursed by wicked blood, muse a’s song is doomed to bring misery and death to anyone who hears it. though it is not their fault, muse a has been forbidden from singing to anyone (human or merperson) for as long as they live. unable to sing freely like their seafaring kin, muse a is an outcast and believes they will never know the joy of changing a human’s life for the better.
always lonely underwater, muse a secretly travels to the surface in the hopes of finding companionship. merely speaking to a human couldn’t hurt, they suppose. one afternoon, muse a encounters muse b strolling along the shoreline, pitching small pebbles into the surf. Fearing rejection from the first human they’ve ever seen, muse a thinks to swim away, but muse b spots their shimmering tail and calls out to them.
they keep their distance from one another as they speak, one on land and one at sea, but are too intrigued to part ways. as it gets dark and the air becomes cold, both must take their leave of the beach. uncertain if muse a will ever see another human, muse a hastily promises muse b that they will bring them treasures if they come back.
muse b is uncertain if it's wise, but they agree to return. True to their word, muse a brings a valuable trinket from a shipwreck far below in simple exchange for muse b’s company. as the days pass and muse b continues to return, it seems that muse a has finally found a friend. all will be well, as long as they don’t ever sing to muse b. ( plot credit: plotsforall. )
#5. muse a lives in a small town just a stone’s throw away from a dense forest called the whispering woods. every afternoon, especially in the fall, when the leaves are changing color and the air is crisp, muse a likes to walk through the woods on their way home. muse a sits on the kissing rock at the mouth of the woods, straps up their boots, and inhales the fresh pine before embarking on the winding path to the log bridge.
as muse a crosses the log bridge, one foot over the over, they enjoy the soft ‘whispers’ (for which the woods are named after) of the meandering creek below. the whispers always seem louder in october for some reason, almost discernible. townspeople like to say it’s because the woods are haunted by spirits, but muse a’s never been the superstitious type. they’ve been frequenting the woods since they were a kid, and nothing spooky has ever happened to them before.
one afternoon, muse a encounters muse b in the thick of the towering pines. muse b looks lost and disheveled as if they haven’t had a shower or a proper meal in a few days. concerned for the unfamiliar wanderer, muse a offers to guide muse b out of the woods, back to civilization. muse b instead asks muse a to stay with them for a while; they want to visit the log bridge, their favorite place.
muse a can see that muse b is the lonely sort, so they agree to walk to the bridge with muse b. they were headed there anyway. when the pair arrive at the bridge, muse b struggles to recall why they found this spot so memorable, or anything about who they are to make conversation with muse a, but they can’t remember.
muse a insists on helping muse b leave the woods, worried that muse b might be suffering from amnesia or something worse. but when muse a gets to the edge of the woods, muse b, who they thought was right behind them, is nowhere to be found.
muse a calls out for muse b for several minutes and gets no response. The sun is going down, and the chill in the air is biting through muse a’s coat, so they go home. they barely sleep that night, thinking about muse b and hoping they’re alright, wherever they are. bright and early the following morning, muse a returns to the woods, hoping to find muse b again. muse b is there at the foot of the log bridge, waiting for muse a, unsure of how they got there or what’s keeping them bound to these woods. muse b is a ghost but doesn’t know it. #6. muse a gets thrust into the past where supernatural beings rule and coexist alongside human beings, something that doesn’t happen in the future. not only does muse a have to deal with being in a time where culture and social norms are different from their own time, but also with apparent supernatural powers that slowly started awakening in them.
queue muse b finding them and saving them from being killed. a powerful supernatural being, muse b rules over a part of the country with an iron fist, seemingly cold, brooding, and cruel. they only take in muse a for their awakening supernatural powers, thinking they would be of help.
as time passes, muse a manages to learn of a way to come to and from their own time, and that’s when they start to worry about what happened to the supernatural beings as they can’t feel them in their time. so they start to work with muse b, trying to find where everything went wrong, and extinction began. all the while, they start to grow close while trying to know for certain what is legend and what will impact the future. (plot credit: thcblackrosc on tumblr. )
#7. two muses that are both stumbling their way through grad school, but they’re complete polar opposites in every way. muse a loves taking risks, is always doing spur-of-the-moment things, and is a cynical skeptic about most things. on the other hand, muse b is super cautious, thinks through every decision twice before going through with it, and tends to be really idealistic about the world around them.
and even though they’re both very clever and can debate circles around anyone, they are absolute idiots when it comes to relationships and properly articulating how they feel. they’re always coming up with excuses as to why they’d never work out as a couple (we’re way too different, we’d probably kill each other, we’re much better off as friends), but literally everyone else thinks they would be such a good match for each other.
they’re just too far up their own asses and into their textbooks to see it. not to mention the fact that muse a has lowkey never been in a long-term relationship before (they always tend to fizzle out after a few months), and muse b is too scared to ruin their friendship. so these two dummies just keep grabbing coffee together, avoiding prolonged eye contact, and trying to rationalize anything that even remotely resembles romance. ( plot credit: moonchildrenhq on tumblr. )
#8. i’d love a plot where muse a is a vampire in a pastoral estate who feeds on the people in town. but, they haven't really conversed with someone in decades till muse b, a newly turned werewolf, is caught on the grounds. muse a really should kill them or kick them out, but it’s been so long since they’ve talked with someone... and muse a has always wanted a dog.
#9. a sleepy, idyllic little town with magical/supernatural realism/surrealism? yes, please. give me the werewolf who works as a bartender at the local lgbtq+ bar. the fairie that owns everyone's favorite flower shop. the cute barista who has no idea what's happening right under their nose. a vampire who's desperately trying to hide what they are from their super pretty, clueless roommate. a witch who works at that cute little bookshop and their familiar is a regular customer. literally anything and everything you can think of.
#10. a "grace & frankie" plot where established women are brought together after their husbands announce they are in love with each other and plan to get married. now, the women, who have never particularly liked each other, are forced to live together! i love the idea that one is that high-powered boss-type while the other is boho earthy, and even though they clash sometimes, they'll grow to just love and support each other.
#11. muse a, the princess/prince of the kingdom, is the proper age for marriage. they could either opt for or simply be expected to choose a partner from a group of eligible royals. most of the others go the traditional route and attempt to woo them with compliments, gifts, and a whole lot of schmaltz. however, one princess/prince in the batch, muse b, doesn’t seem to be even remotely interested. they answer with witty punchlines and sarcasm. it’s almost as if muse b wants muse a to reject them. throughout the evening, muse a grows to despise them, but instead of sending muse b packing, the princess/prince gives them exactly what they don’t want. as muse a sends some of the other more boring princesses/princes home, they decide to keep muse b around. If only to torture them with the possibility that they could end up muse a's wife/husband.
#12. ( TW: slight mention of s*ic*de )
muse a, disoriented and lacking any memory, finds themself in a mysterious facility but fails to understand how they came to be there. they’re forced to participate in group therapy where they come to realize that all of the others present, including muse b, are murderers, suicides, generally all kinds of people who did something reprehensible and who have died. they have been condemned to an afterlife where they must repeatedly go back into rooms that cause them to relive the events that led up to them being trapped there, facing their own personal hell. once a day, they attend group therapy where they are supposed to share their experience, putting the puzzle pieces of their lacking memories together to understand and come to terms with what really happened.
muse a believes that they have been wrongly convicted and manage to unnerve muse b by constantly asking questions and following them around, but soon they become allies in their strange situation. and they decide to work on an escape plan with an unknown outcome...
- they have ominous tattoos on their arms that mark them with their deep wrongs.
- they can also sneak into each other’s rooms and maybe discover something the other kept a secret from them and everyone else. Either with consent or randomly showing up for the sake of angst and drama.
- kudos if muse b turns out to enjoy their stay because there's a damn good reason why they're here. ( heartxshaped-bruises on tumblr. )
