By "Dragon-blooded", do you mean the 2e guidebook? If so, I've already got that.

And as for the artifact, I don't see why you can't have it, though in truth I am a bit nervous about handling custom artifacts in my first game as storyteller.
No I have backer pdfs for 3e Dragon-Blooded and Lunars.

Oh, okay. Yeah, you can send them to me if you want, or I can just look at your item when you post your character sheet.

Rykon Rykon be sure to also post the item on the Onyx Path forum, there's an Artifact Workshop thread, and they will be more than happy to comment on your Artifact. Also, check it out, maybe something similar has been posted already, making your life easier.

I do plan on getting it thoroughly vetted before play.

Edit: jaydude jaydude I'll send them through a DM when I'm back home.

Hmm...so I'm on like 6 good paragraphs for my character's backstory and have only just now gotten to the point where she is on the run from her family. I think I'm going to condense it down to just some highlights minus the fluff details.

jaydude jaydude Feel free to just ask me about any of it if it doesn't make sense or you have a concern. I'll give more details then and see if that resolves it. If not I'll make whatever changes are needed.

I'd keep the long version somewhere, and mostly use the sheet space for a highlight summary. No sense in letting all that effort go to waste.

I plan on keeping a link to longer form notes on the character stored in my cloud files.

Edit: Got my notes finally whittled down on ability selection. Currently, I've got Caste/Favored marked as: Athletics, Awareness, Dodge, Investigation, Melee, Resistance, Ride, Sail, Survival, War.

Non-favored charm picks include: Tiger's Dread Symmetry, Stubborn Boar Defense, and Perfect Shadow Stillness since having a Presence, Integrity, and Stealth excellency will be very important for gap coverage.

Right now I could go with or without Investigation, Ride, or Sail, but they seemed like important options to leave open depending on where the story goes.

Am going with a Lore Supernal. I have three charms invested in Craft, but have gone into the Fact-introducing Charms of Lore, to be able to do, and add, interesting things to the game.
I decided that my character's main Craft would be Jewelry-making, so if any of the other characters likes Jewlry, that would be a cool way to have them know of each other, even before the Exaltation.

Am writing a background, and will PM it to Jaydude once I've got it mostly written.

It's not final, but should be close. Posted a sheet with dot and charm allocations laid out.

EDIT: Alright, made a lot of progress. Just need to fill out charm texts, intimacies, and the actual background to the character. Charm picks, attributes, abilities, equipment, and conflict stats are up to date.

My character will actually have an amulet with a socketed hearthstone, wood aspect. It might be possible your character made it.

EDIT: Was going to post what should be the final CS and everything, but my internet has been acting up the past 2 evening and I can't even upload a 63 KB image to it. So...

Rykon Rykon , do you have any requests on where you want your character's homeland to be located? (Northeast of Nexus, western edge of the Hundred Kingdoms, north of the Yellow River, etc.)

Hey guys, sorry about my silence, I sorta got lost in reading for most of the weekend, but I'll try and get at least a first draft of a character up tonight.

Rykon Rykon I'm a bit concerned that our characters are going to overlap a bit much in how they fight and approach command. Are there any particular aspects you want to claim as your own?

jaydude jaydude I'll have to get back to you and post a mark of roughly where I think a suitable location is.

Esbilon Esbilon It never occurred to me that you intended on taking war or leading troops. I'll get back to you after some thought, as I had intially built the character to be good at command actions (which for his style leaned on appearance rather than charisma) with only a modest capability at strategic maneuvers starting out (since that required a higher intelligence attribute).

My character will be social-primary, but with Melee and War as secondary since (to quote Sun Tzu) "The art of war is of vital importance to the state. It is a matter of life and death. A road either to safety, or to ruin."

That said, I obviously can't hog both the socialite and the general role in the group, and I won't be able to do as good a job as someone focusing on that aspect, it's just something I'd like to be able to do well enough.

ithinkcat ithinkcat , I've noticed that Riverspeak isn't mentioned as one of Opal Child's known languages on your character sheet, assuming High Realm is her native language.

jaydude jaydude Yeah, considering her backstory it made sense High Realm would be her native tongue, and she would have picked up the more generalized Low Realm during her travels, especially since she didn't stick around anyplace too long.

Yeah, High Realm being her native language makes sense. What I'm saying is that, as far as I can see, she doesn't know a word of Riverspeak, i.e. the language of the Scavenger Lands.

jaydude jaydude Edited the CS. I should have chosen Riverspeak over Low Realm anyways. For some reason I thought Low Realm was the general trade language used around Creation, when in actuality it's Riverspeak.

I think the closest thing to a "global trade language" in Creation is Guild Cant, which is only used by members of the Guild. Otherwise, each cardinal direction has its own language (Skytongue for the north, Flametongue for the south, Forest-tongue for the parts of the east that aren't the Scavenger Lands and Seatongue for the west). Low Realm is used by Realm commoners.

Guild Cant is a secret Guild-members only language. Riverspeak and Low Realm are the closest things to universal languages because such a large portion of the world's traders come from those areas.
