The World Of Eldrida
Welcome to the world of Eldrida,
Eldrida is a land teeming with life, and civilization. The people of this land thrive upon the power of magic as well as technology. While finding pockets of civilization in this world is of little challenge at times, the land holds many secrets and mysteries that are still to be discovered. These secrets can either lead to tremendous riches or imminent death for the most curious or bravest of travelers who wish to live their lives to the fullest.
Those who wish to live much more peaceful and serene lives can decide to either live in one of the many floating archipelagos cities that liter the skies or the other many smaller towns and cities that cover the ground. With either choice, the people of Eldrida are always given opportunities for nearly any type of career that wish to go for. Whether the career might be to become a scholar, a farmer, a politician, or even one of the royal guards of the Kingdom of Aradia. Whatever the choice someone would decide upon, it is considered a mandatory task that all the people of Eldrida must attend the Academy of Zephyr, where all people learn about the history of the land before being taught the understanding and control of how to operate most if not all magical and technological devices that the world of Eldrida revolves around.
The first lesson to be taught is of the power of the Eternum crystal, otherwise known as the source of all magical energy. Little is known about the sparkling light blue crystal other than the fact that historians state that it was one day found during an excavation in one of the mines southwest of the royal city of Aradia. When first discovered, the crystal gave off a strong pulse of energy that launched nearly every single miner from the mines due to the large pocket of it found within. After endless amounts of research and experimentations were done, they were able to extract the large chunk of the crystal from the mine only to find that they were soon able to harness strange abilities that differed from one person to another after just making contact with the crystal itself.
Experiments continued after that day and eventually the excavation for more of the crystal became a major investment. Within the span of a decade or so, the understanding of the crystal caused the evolution of technology to spike rapidly, new weapons, new forms of transportation, and even new ways of communication sprung up like wildfire. It was only a matter of time before the largest pockets of the crystal was decided to be used upon other pieces of land to see if it could be used in other ways. To everyone's surprise, the first subject to be used was the royal city of Aradia, installing the largest chunk of Eternum into the ground itself and with the help of those who had mastered their power, they were able to lift not only a ginormous chunk of land into the air but also the royal city itself into the sky. Strangely enough, after a certain altitude, the city and land itself stabilized in the air, no one understands how or why but the advancement was on everyone's mind that it was not of any concern at the time.
Soon after the first of rising the city itself into the air was done, attaching and causing other objects to fly through the air was trivial at best. Ships soon flew, eventually even people that did not have the ability to fly originally were given a chance to do so by strapping a device to their backs. However, strangely enough, with this device it appeared as though the energy from the crystal could be drained into the user's body causing the crystal to apparently 'die' before dropping the individual until another crystal would be installed. Scientists still ponder on how and why this appears to be so with people and animals but when it came to ships and land, it apparently did not ever run out. It is speculated that when attached directly to an individual, the power of the crystal is being drained into the user's body to compensate for the weight of a lifeform rather than an inanimate object, but yet, this is still simply a speculation.
The second lesson to be taught at the academy is how to control, learn and understand one's own abilities as well as how technology and magic works throughout the world.
Since, everyone is different when it comes to gaining their power at birth, at times it can be difficult to help individuals understand and control their power since at first, the instructors are unaware of what an individual is capable of as well as what their limitations and weaknesses are. Because of this, the first few weeks can be nothing more than testing out different simple situations for the individual, whether it be if they can breathe underwater, set fire to a small piece of paper, have super strength, etc. After learning about their power and what they are capable of as well as what their limitations are, they are taught through tests of their abilities that grow more intense with every few weeks that go by until they've grown a mastery of their abilities. During this time, they are also taught that every device, vehicle, and object they ever may come into contact with will always have some form of the Eternum crystal installed into it. Depending on what they wish to do with the object, or device, they simply need to place their palm over the crystal and it will react to their command. For privacy and ownerships, Eternum crystals can be modified by those who originally installed it to cause it so that only the owner can activate the object, device or vehicle. The same user is also able to cause it so that certain other individuals can use the same device as well.
After these first two lessons are taught and completed, the lessons that follow after are information regarding the royal family, royal guards, authorities, laws, and other smaller details. After everything has been taught, individuals are given a final test to see what they have learned to make sure they have mastered every subject before they are finally allowed to graduate from the Academy and go forward with their lives.
This is where our story begins.
Captain of the S.S Infinity, this particular individual decided that he did not want to live the normal life simply to work for the Royal family, just to spend every single day of his life toiling away just to be paying taxes so that the rich could get richer and the poor just to become poorer. So, instead of heading to the academy to learn about his power or any of that, he decided to learn to control his own power his own way. While this meant his methods of learning were much more extreme due to him battling against wild animals in the process, he eventually mastered his power on his own and soon became lost in his own mind about how everything worked in the world. The fact that Eternum was suddenly found all of a sudden out of nowhere after centuries of it being hidden from sight, the fact that it was able to hold up so many large pieces of land, the fact that when used to have people fly, it drained quicker than when inside an object, all of it made no sense to him.
With his questions unanswered and with no book or person able to give him a direct answer, he decided that he would go in search for an answer on his own one way or another. Crafting a giant pirate-like ship through the use of his own bare hands and installing together the largest chunks of Eternum he could mine or steal, he eventually set sail for the open seas and skies in search of answers. All while recruiting as many individuals as he possibly could that would help him on his journey, no matter what stories it may lead him through.
The Rules
1.There will be no god-modding or power playing within this roleplay. That simply will not be tolerated.
2.Do not add lore into the roleplay that you are unsure whether or not it will be approved. If you would like to add addition plot to the story, please inform me prior to doing anything like that so that I may review and approve or edit your idea as needed.
3.DO NOT edit your character after it has been approved without letting me know about it.
4.Character Sheets that are approved will receive a 'Heart' reaction. Character Sheets that are incomplete that do receive the reaction approval are allowed to post yet still must have Sheets done eventually to continue forward after some time.
5.Although the tab may only show four characters, more characters can/will be added. Those four are simply the ones available for this code to be used. If you wish to come up with a role, please inform me and I shall add it if it is deemed needed.
6.Keep all OOC drama out of this. Plenty of IC drama can happen, although if you happen to have a problem with another person. Please feel free to speak to me about it, if not please be kind and respectful to all your fellow players.
7.Character Sheets that are approved will receive a 'Like' reaction. Character Sheets that are incomplete that do receive the reaction approval are allowed to post yet still must have Sheets done eventually to continue forward after some time.
8.While writer's block is understandable. At the very least a decent paragraph to two per post is much appreciated.
9.Everyone's life is busy and can be overwhelming. However, if possible, at least one post per week would be greatly appreciated. If for some reason you are unable to get a post in for a longer period of time, please inform me or anyone to relay the message to avoid removal from the roleplay.
10.Rules are subject to change at any point in time. Announcements will be made if changed.
11.Playing as a different race is allowed. However, there are limitations as to what race you are allowed to play as. Demons/Angels/Phoenix are completely banned from being used as for characters, as well as basilisks, and other crazy mythological creatures. If you will be using a different race, it must be as close to humanoid as possible. Some examples would be as elves, dwarves or mermaids. This is to avoid issues with those who wish to end up putting a 'physiology' of said race and end up with multiple crazy powers that are far too overpowered.
The Characters
[TAKEN BY NOTHINGNESS] Captain of the S.S Infinity. A man on a goal to find the true history of the land, to understand just where the power of the Eternum crystal originated from, and how it came to be. While the man flies a ship similar to that of a pirate's he does not plunder and kill like other pirates that roam the seas or skies. He wishes for nothing more than to find the truth behind the world.
[TAKEN BY animegirl20 ] Every ship needs a first mate. The second-in-command, when the captain is not present, this person takes leadership over the rest of the ship and its crew. Someone the captain trusts with their life and is loyal to the captain with their own life as well.
[TAKEN BY Hanarei ] A navigator. Without someone who knows the seas and skies like the back of their hand, even a crew with a captain would get lost. A navigator to lead the ship and its crew through the most dangerous of skies and water, to avoid or even go directly into the jaws of a storm to find the answers of the world or even the riches of it.
[TAKEN BY 606 ] The Helmsman. While the captain may be able to sail and fly a ship, without a proper helmsman, a captain can only steer the ship so well. Without a proper helmsman, one could end up barreling straight into danger or even unable to steer out of it when needed.
