Clarisse Maxim

Saying Clair was bored would be stating the obvious. She was the opinion that the freshman were getting dumber and dumber every year. She even had a bet with Andrew about it. A bet that she'd already won.

She stood up for the tenth time that morning. "First years. You were and are requested to kindly hand in your registration forms to the members of the Student Council. We all wear badges like this one," she pointed to a little square on the breast pocket of her blazer, "And don't look utterly clueless like the rest of you. Thank you!"

She slumped back down on her chair behind a table that bore a board announcing that it was the 'Help Desk', something that none of them were taking note of. It almost looked like they were a herd of ruminants, slowly chewing their cud while taking their own sweet time to hand in their forms.

Sam walked up to the help desk and saw clarisse, well its our illustrious vice president. Came to see how the new years were looking this year. I was wondering if I could make a quick speech before they go to their first class because I want to give them a quick tip and I want to introduce them to the dangers of working with molten metal and how they'll end up if they don't pay attention.

Jade sighed heavily as she finished filling out her form as was bumped into for the fourth time in the past 10 minutes. "This place is so damn crowded..." she grumbles under her breath starting to become irritated with the crowd. She scanned over the mass of students who were sanding around and talking, mixing in with those who were actually doing what they were supposed to. Jade adjusted the bag on her shoulder before slipping through the crowd and managing to get into one of the shorter lines wanting to get to class as quickly as possible and hopefully to a quieter place.

Alder stares around at the huge crowd of first years using the time that they should be trying to get through the paperwork to socialize. Figuring he's filled out most of it, and hoping he managed to do so successfully in his semi-sloppy writing. He walks up to a shorter line, right behind Jade. He figures this girl is someone he could at least talk to, perhaps even befriend. He taps her on the shoulder. "Hey, crazy line ups huh?" He's trying to be genuinely friendly, and hopes the notion is returned. He holds out a hand. "I'm Alder, nice to meet you."

Andrew lazily was stacking all of the registration forms he was being given to all of the new students. He was supposed to be signing them and getting them ready for the School Staff but when did Andrew do anything he was supposed to. The new students were eyeing the stack that was reaching a dangerously high height. There were whispers all around as they handed Andrew their forms.

"This is...weird."

"Yeah.. isn't he the Student Council President?"

"He doesn't seem...qualified for his position.."

"I wonder how high that stack can go?"

"I'm really hungry..."

Andrew just smiled and continued to stack. Finally a student approached the subject.

"Um. Mr. Student Council Pres-"

"Andrew is just fine."

"Oh okay.. Andrew. Why are you stacking all of our registration forms?" The student asked, crossing his arms, a tad annoyed by the lack of leadership their President showed.

Andrew glanced at the stack. He shrugged.

"Oh I'll finish them later." He replied and went back to stacking. The student stood there awkwardly. Finally he once again spoke up.

"I don't really like how you handle things." The student said boldly.

Andrew laughed loudly, bringing many stares. He pointed to where his Vice President sat; Clair, who was also taking registration forms although she was doing it correctly. She had her usually glare and was nagging and yelling at another student. The student cringed and quickly apologized, hurrying away from Clair.

"Please feel free to take your registration form to her. I do believe your form is somewhere in this stack. Would you like it back?" Andrew said, smiling. The student shuddered at the thought and staring at the rising stack, shaking his head. He too hurried away. Andrew laughed again and went back to stacking.

Naomi handed in her registration form and she tried getting out from the crowd. So much for a perfect first day. There were so many kids that they actually shoved her onto the floor, trying to get by. She sighed "This people have no manners.." she stated, getting up, only to be pushed back down "Hey!" she yelled, pouting

Antonio waded through the crowd, a scowl on his face. The last thing he wanted was to be waist-deep in this sort of... filth. He, however, had no choice in the matter. Looking around, he could tell that everyone that he laid his eyes on had no skill, at least none that could match up to his. He let out a deep sigh and shoved a few people out of his way. He wanted to get his paperwork submitted and get to a spot where he might be able to breathe without worrying about catching the failure that these other students were putting off.

He shoved his way up to the registration desk and put his paper in front of what looked like the student council president. He scowled at the boy, his dark, narrow eyes piercing. "Lose my file, and you will regret doing so, boy." he hissed darkly, flipping his hair from his face. He turned on his heel and made his way out of the crowd, nearly tripping on a girl that had fallen. "Watch it!" he hissed at her, before grabbing the back of her collar to pull her to her feet. "Are you crazy? Laying on the floor like that, you could seriously injure someone." he growled, storming off before she could answer. He didn't have time to deal with morons right now, and simply wanted some time to himself.

Naomi was pulled up and she growled following the boy "I'll have you know I was shoved on the floor and nearly trampled!" she snapped, hitting the back of his head "You do not talk to me like that!" she snapped, crossing her arms "I bet you wouldnt like it if I yanked you up like you did with me and then yelled at me for something I didnt do!' she growled slightly "You wouldnt like being shoved to the ground either."

Mira bit her lip nervously as she pushed through the crowd, cluthing her registration form to her chest. There were far too many people in the room for her to be comfortable-not to mention that they were all taller than her. She flinched and ducked past yet another student, her bright blue eyes searching for a Student Council member. There was a girl on the other side of the room who was taking the papers, but Mira had already deemed her to terrifying to approach just yet.

She finally saw a boy about her age, maybe older, lazily stacking the registration forms instead of signing them. She took a deep breath, and made her way towards him, carefully stepping around the other students. Mira finally got to him, and handed the paper to him while smiling timidly. She caught a glance of herself in the reflection of a window and sighed inwardly.

I look like a terrified bunny.

Antonio growled deeply, rubbing the back of his head. "First of all, I didn't -yell-." he said, scowling in pain. "Would you have preferred that I leave you on the ground to get trampled by the brainless fools who didn't have the presence of mind to look down? You would have been severely injured had I not picked you up, and what do I get for thanks? Violence." he said, sighing. He shook his head, sliding a hand through his hair. "So, do I get to know your name? Or should I just call you 'the violent one' whenever I see you?" he asked, smirking a bit.

Hand me some of those forms Andrew, I'll help to lower that towering mess of papers on your side. I'm just waiting for Clarisse to answer my question that I asked her a few minutes ago and I have nothing better to do until first period. Sam began to look at the registration forms of the new students and put them into a pile next to his desk and began to stack up like Andrews.

Jade tensed slightly her her shoulder was tapped and glanced over her shoulder, she didn't know anyone nor had she dropped anything that she knew of. "uh oh yes... fairly annoying really mostly because people wont pay attention." she muttered studying the boy turning slightly to face him a bit more. "I'm Jade, nice to meet you as well." she shook her hand, no point in turning down a potential friend.

Clair wiped her brow with the back of her right hand as her left was set signing the forms before her, her eyes scanning them immaculately before each of them earned a squiggle at the bottom. It was only after a few minutes that she formulated an answer for Sam. "You do realize that no one here, except you, works with molten metal right?" she asked, exasperation evident in her tone, "We joust. We don't make weapons."

After setting aside the bundle of forms, she lifted her bright blue eyes to him, "Maybe you could address the Chatelaines on the care of weapons, not their making," she emphasized, "It isn't in mine or Andrew's power to approve anything more than that. If you are still insistent about it, I would suggest you take it up to the Dean."

Clair was tired more than anything. Even though it was morning, the constant shouting had drained her considerably, making her even more cranky. As she looked around for Andrew, she caught him involved in a balancing act. "Andrew!" she shouted, enough to make her voice heard over the crowd and even silence them completely, "Get over here. Right now!"

Andrew took the form and stacked it with his others.

"Welcome to Chevalier Academy." He said, with a reassuring smile. "If you need any assistance, don't be afraid to ask. Except asking Clair. Be afraid of that."

Andrew was lazy but is the Student Council President for a reason. Students had to know that they could come to him easily. Out of all the student council, despite being the President, he is the most requested. He's lazy but quite friendly and easy going. It also helped that no one wanted to go anywhere near Clair.

"Andrew! Get over here right now!"

Speaking of Clair..
Andrew sighed and shuffled over.

"Yes?"

Naomi sighed "Sorry. You just pissed me off when you picked me up and practiclly blamed me for being in the way." she dropped her arms and spoke "I'm Naomi." she looked at him "And whats your name?" she wasnt too cruel to people. She just tried to be nice as she can, no matter how much of a butt they were

I'm not going to talk them about making the weapons but tell them how to be careful and pay attention when they are in the class and want to introduce them to this year. Don't worry I'll tell them to have a nice to them but I just want to show them what happens if you aren't careful and to show them what happens to people who don't pay attention and to knock some sense into them.

Alder nods. "I know the feeling, nobody is getting anything done really, anyway. I'm a chatelain, what are you training to be?" Alder surveys the crowd before he gets an answer. Then he speaks again. "I'm really nervous...I probably shouldn't be." He laughs. "I have no idea where anything is or how things work here, how about you?" He laughs. "Sorry if I ramble on, I'm a bit of a wreck right now and I tend to talk when I'm nervous."

Clarisse Maxim

Clair was fuming. If you looked close enough, you could almost make out the steam escaping from her ears. Almost. She glared pointedly at the pile of papers, her hands on her hips and her foot tapping impatiently under the desk. "What are those?" she asked, "And before you give me a wise statement about them being forms, you know better than to piss me off right now."

She reached a hand up to grab a form from the top of the pile. Unsigned. And another. Unsigned. And another. Unsigned. Her face turned a bright red in anger. "Just when do you think you are going to go through them? We have to hand them all in in 2 hours. And we have class in those two hours."

Then she turned to Sam, her eyes narrowed in irritation. "Feel free to make the first years stay beyond their class hours to listen to your talk. I sure won't be doing it. And no physical violence, please. I don't want that sort of shit on my head," she said. Despite her small frame, her presence practically filled up the yard.

Jade smirked slightly "I'm a chatelain as well. Its alright, I have a fair bit of knowledge about all this because my Father used to be a Chevalier. I wouldn't really worry much, it's only the first day just keep your ears open and pay attention" She advised before hearing someone yell silencing the crowd for a moment. Jade looked over seeing a particularly feisty girl lecturing a guy who didn't look like he wanted to be there. "I'm guessing that's the student council..." she thought to her self taking not of the blue badges.

Alder says aloud to Jade, but not very loud. "Those guys are the student council? They look more like they're fighting then working together for our sake...I hope the guy being yelled at is going to do something." He sighs. "On the other hand I see his point, these sheets are a pain..." He laughs. "So your dad was a Chevalier? Those are some big shoes to fill, hope you can handle it." He says with genuine concern. "So what do you have for first class?"

I'm only going to take a minute, don't worry. Sam calls the first years to calm down. My name is Sam and I just wanted to tell you all about how to be careful when working and practicing. I know you are all why I am wearing this mask and I wanted to show you all what not to do and be careful when working or training with dangerous materials. Sam began to unhinge the latches on his mask and showed the first years the scars and his burnt face down to the muscle. This is what might happen to you. And for that I just want to welcome you guys to your first years at the academy. Ask any of us a question except Clarisse, she looks angrier then i am when dealing with students who don't pay attention.Sam puts his mask back on an continues to go through papers.

Jade looked back to Adler and nodded. "I suppose so but I'm used to it. The work is not an issue with me really, its the partner I'm more concerned about..." she pointed out before looking up as one of the council members started to make his speech. She winced slightly seeing the scars and burns wondering what happened for that much damage and scaring to occur. She was no stranger to the dangers of jousting and had every intention of getting through the year with as few incidence as possible. With the aid of a third person the line moved faster, Jade ended up handing her form over to Sam.

Alder nods. "I don't really mind who I get as a partner as long as they're nice." He laughs. "To be honest, I'll probably just weigh them down so someone who can put up with me would be great." With three people everyone is moving faster, but lines are getting jumbled, he ends up handing his form into Claire. He's not really scared of her, in fact he's sort of wondering why she's so miserable, He guesses dealing with un co-operative freshman can be a royal pain in the behind at times. "Hey, sorry about all of us, we must be giving you a terrible time." He says with genuine kindness.

Antonio nodded, watching Naomi for a moment. "Antonio Lucioni. Perhaps we both got off on the wrong foot. I have had one hell of a journey to come here, and I'm not in the best of moods." he said, extending a hand to shake. "Nice to meet you."
