Acamen watched with an amused smile on his face as Myrrl offered his paw to Lark and she kindly took it. It seems that he was already making new friends. Though he did notice some sort of reservation in the girl and he didn’t believe it to be fear of Myrll. He made a mental note to ask about it later.
As everyone left Acamen gave them a soft smile and wave before turning back to Myrll. “Aren’t you a friendly teddy bear after all. Lark is very pretty too” he smirked wiggling his eyebrows. Even if the beast didn’t know all his jokes he knew he had to at least have a libido somewhere deep down. “Anyways, I’d be happy to give you a tour around and get you set up in one of our rooms. For now, I will give you this,” he handed him a pendant. “Roya will be enchanting these at the welcome party tonight so that you can never lose it and it will allow you to send distress calls to all other members. Your location will be known to us immediately.” Acamen took out his own. “This will also allow me to call you to the guildhall if needed. I think that’s everything on the pendant. Let’s go, I’ll show you to the guildhall.”
Acamen had just turned to head toward the guildhall when he bumped into Lark.
“Oh no, are yo-” he was cut off as she began to wheeze out a few words.
‘Beltari’s being attacked’ were the only words he needed to hear. Immediately his body went stiff and every thought in his brain went serious. It was as if someone hit a switch on him and turned him into a complete 180 of his usual self. He quickly turned to Myrrl and Lark. “I need you two to find my daughter. Once you’ve done that, all three of you keep people away from the perimeter of the guildhall. I do not want any townspeople where they could get hurt. I believe in you two.” Acamen spoke in a low and serious tone. A smile never one appeared on his face. He turned toward the guildhall tent tapped his cane once on the floor and traced the outline of a door on the tent. As he finished the outline a large wooden door suddenly appeared. “Be brave” were his last words to the two before entering the door, it disappearing right behind him.
Acamen didn’t know exactly where the door would take him. He only willed it to take him to Beltari. He opened it and stepped right into Beltari’s room. So the door had been her bedroom door then. His adrenaline was still spiked as he saw her working on a seal on a shield.
“Beltari what is going on?” he asked rushing over to her. He could see the burned books all over her room and the cut on her shoulder only fueled his anger to unsafe levels. “Who did this?” he asked gritting his teeth.
