The one mark on the map, Spirits’ Crossing was the sole settlement for the band of explorers. The King had sent them out to expand his empire, although the results had been less than fruitful. Their first settlement was unknowingly established upon land claimed by a tribe of what were assumed to be savages. At their hands, what had been an army had been reduced to only a small band.
A number of days had passed, as the warriors and explorers decided what move to make next. They only had enough food and water left to sustain them for a week at best, and then there was the problem of who or what they would come across.
A decision was made to stay true to their quest – to find new land to conquer, to chart the uncharted and claim it for their kingdom. And so the expedition continued. Walking across the grassland that stretched beyond their field of vision, occasionally making notes on the map they had slowly been completing.
