Backstory
The son of the two titans Theia and Hyperion, Helios has lived in Greece for millennia alongside its other gods on Mount Olympus, under the rule of Zeus, where he was revered and worshipped as the god of the sun. There, temples were dedicated to him, and even though another sun god, Apollo, was also worshipped, Helios did not lose his position.
At times, he would visit the earth, for he was among the gods who protected the people, and has even fought alongside gods from other pantheons before, such as Thor, Anubis, and Sobek. With the rising popularity of superheroes and villains, Helios was easily recognized as one and became quite popular, especially in Greece, making him one of the most popular heroes of the Mediterranean region, and one of its most powerful.
However, all of this changed when a series of attacks starting from China and across the Mediterranean took place. When the attacks reached Greece, Helios was sent to investigate, and ran into a villain who called himself Silver, who had stolen a powerful artifact from China and was making his way across the mediterranean and to America so as to showcase his power. Helios misjudged, thinking he’d make quick work of the enemy, but after a brief battle was defeated and cast away. When he managed to return to Corinth, where he had fought Silver, he found it in ruin.
Helios thus followed Silver to America, seeking vengeance for his slaughtered people, and there he managed to defeat him, as the villain was fighting other heroes. He decided thus to stay there, as he quickly became quite popular there, and there was always crime to stop.
