Character creation questions

Hi, myself and a few friends has just recently started getting interested in Exalted. We are trying to find a DM to run a game for us but in the mean time we have been going through character creation to familarize ourselves with the rules. We had a few questions and were wondering if anyone could help.


Firstly, if a character was using Thunderbolt Attack Prana (from the Athletics charm tree) could they do so with a throwing weapon as a throwing attack. More specifcially making the attack using a throwing knife.


We were also wondering if a god-blooded character (say a child of an elemental and human) exalt into a Solar? If so are there any pre-written rules for it in any splat books?

About thunderbolt attack prana: I'd say it is intended for the use with a close combat attack.


About godblooded: Yes, they can exalt but it overwrites the godblooded powers.

I've allowed Thunderbolt Attack Prana too be used with ranged weapons as well since it can cause all kinds of cool shit.

 Depends on the powers. Half-Castes get almost completely overwritten, but God-Bloods, Demon-Bloods, Ghost-Bloods, and changelings can retain some of their specialized powers. They pay for it with hindered development, though...the higher the Inheritance, the more penalized they are.

The Charm works with any attack the character makes.  This includes Brawling, Melee, Thrown, Archery, and Martial Arts.  Interestingly, I don't see a lot of MA Combos include this Charm...
