Guardian Angel
Name: Kiana Kaslana
Nickname: N/A
Gender and Pronouns: Female, she/her/hers
Sexuality and Crush/Partner: Idk yet, let me know if interested
Age: 19
Species: Android
Personality:
Kiana is a very braggy, overconfident, bright, and "idiotic" girl who has a liking to food. She is happy-go-lucky, and confident she could do anything and that she is the best. She often smiles, even if she was injured, and adores the company of her friends. She is brave and outgoing, even daring to take on challenges where her life is at stake.
Appearance:
Valkyrie Height: 5’4/163cm
Hextech Height: 7’8/233cm
Description: Kiana has messy white hair that's often tied into two big braids. Normally, her eyes are a bright sea blue but they turn into a deadly golden color when entering Burst Mode. Kiana dons a white bodysuit with splashes of orange and black scattered along it. This suit also has three mechanisms on its back that glow when activated. Two big stars dot the side of the suit legs as well. Kiana also wears another suit on top of the first which resembles a wolf in appearance and is covered in titanium with dashes of blue highlighting the metal. The blue accents glow when the mechanisms are activated.
Valkyrie Battlesuit:
Hextech Battlesuit:
Nuclear Fusion: Kiana obtains energy through nuclear fusion. Hydrogen atoms are fused together to form helium. The fusion of hydrogen releases energy which Kiana can harness and use to function.
Ammonia Cracking: Kiana obtains ammonia through waste found in the water and soil. The ammonia is broken into hydrogen gas and nitrogen gas with some heat and a catalyst metal. Nitrogen gas is released into the air while hydrogen gas is used for nuclear fusion.
Electricity/Magnetism Manipulation: Kiana can observe and manipulate electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields. This has several applications.
- Lightning Generation: Using the principles of a Tesla Coil, Kiana can produce high voltage with the coils within her body and use it to emit lightning at will from her body with great control.
- Metal Manipulation: By creating opposite rotating magnetic fields, Kiana creates polarity and opposite charges and can attract metal objects and/or herself together. This can allow her to gather and move metal objects. This also allows her to stick to and run along walls and ceilings made of metal and to an extent, fly by shooting herself towards a destination.
- Electricity Immunity: Any electricity directed at Kiana does not damage her. Instead, she can harness the electricity and use it for her own needs.
- Electromagnetic Sensor: Kiana can sense and release EM waves to map out her surroundings similar to echolocation.
Engineering: Kiana carries knowledge on engineering from her creator. She can utilize material available in the wasteland to create or modify systems and structures. She offers her skills to assist the group by providing mechanical support and improving the underground facility. This includes making gear specific to each scientist and test subject, performing maintenance and giving upgrades to gear and machinery, and creating assets for tests.
Valkyrie Battlesuit: Made of a mesh of kevlar and neoprene, this suit provides basic protection for Kiana’s body since there is very delicate machinery underneath. It is also furnished with jet propulsion, military-grade visors, and other hardware. On the back, there are three buttons available that can each activate a mechanism: Emergency Evasion, Suit Retrieval, and Burst Mode.
- Emergency Evasion: For a short period of time, Kiana’s reaction time is enhanced. She can process more information and act upon them faster.
- Suit Retrieval: Kiana is able to retrieve her Hextech Battlesuit from any distance. The suit takes the shortest distance possible to her by running on its own.
- Burst Mode: Kiana removes her limiters, releasing vast amounts of energy and multiplying Kiana’s combat capabilities. However, if this is used for too long, Kiana’s energy will deplete and force her to shut down.
Hextech Battlesuit: While her Valkyrie suit provides plenty of utility, Kiana wears the Hextech suit in addition to it more often than not for enhanced weaponry, armor, and sensors. The suit also provides her greater ground mobility in the rough terrain of the wastelands. Due to the large nature of this suit, Kiana has less dexterity when dealing with smaller objects. This suit is armed with claws and fangs, “natural” weapons that allow Kiana to do slashing and piercing damage. Kiana can also activate emergency evade and burst mode in this suit.
- Emergency Evasion: Same as the Valkyrie Battlesuit.
- Burst Mode: Same as the Valkyrie Battlesuit.
- Reserve Battery: If Kiana shuts down, the Hextech suit has a reserve battery located on the back that can provide her energy to restart. If she is not in the Hextech suit, she needs to be moved into it and plugged in in order to begin the restart procedure.
Electromagnetic Railgun: Kiana has a cannon running along each arm. There are two parallel currents on either side of her arm running in reverse directions and a projectile that acts as a bridge between the two currents. For the cannon to work, the driving current goes through the positive side, through the projectile and comes back through the negative side, using the Lorentz Force and Fleming's left-hand rule. The projectile is then propelled towards the target using the electromagnetic force at three times the speed of sound. Kiana can use anything that is mostly metal as the projectile. The larger the the projectile, the further it can travel before it is vaporized by air friction. Due to the amount of energy the cannon requires, Kiana can only use it when she has over 2/3 of her energy cap in her system.

“Let’s witness all that’s beautiful in this world together.”
For as long as Kiana could remember, she was a normal human being. She grew up in a loving family on the west coast of America. She went to school like a normal kid and made many friends. Of these friends, there was one she was inseparable from; no one could force them apart no matter what. That person was Mei Raiden. Kiana and Mei eventually agreed to continue their schooling together, going to the same college and studying the same courses. They planned to graduate and work together and promised to continue living together and experiencing all that’s new together. However, that all changed when Kiana and Mei were walking back to their dorm one night.
The road was dark with a few lamp posts dimly lighting up spots along it. Crickets and katydids chirped merrily hidden from the human eye. Due to the late time, not many people could be seen walking around the campus. Down the street, a lone man walked towards the two girls chattering away. His jacket was quite bulky despite it being just the start autumn. Kiana remembered wondering who would dress so warmly when it was still so hot and humid. There wasn’t anything else to be suspicious about besides the odd staggering that occurred a couple times, but that could be attributed to him being drunk on a Saturday night. And who could blame a college student for wanting to get trashed at the end of a week? Their distance closed and Kiana quickly recognized the disheveled face of the figure to be a classmate. Under the faint glow of the lamp post, the three could just greet each other and continue walking their separate ways. Or maybe the two girls could help the stumbling drunk to his room. But things didn’t unfold either way.
The next few seconds unfolded so quickly Kiana couldn’t register what happened until the damage was done. The man came to a halt, quivering and mumbling nonsense to himself. His breath reeked of alcohol but the girls didn’t pay that any mind. She recalled asking with concern, “What’s wrong?”
Sometime then, the chorus of insect chirps stopped and held its breath. Everything. Everything was wrong. He slowly lifted a quivering hand to reach the zip of his oversized jacket. As the hand pulled the zipper down, Kiana widened her eyes as she saw something dark and ominous gleaming from beneath the jacket.
“...your fault. It’s all your fault! IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!” the man’s low mumbling transformed into hateful shrieking as he tossed the jacket aside and beared a jet black pistol.
Somewhere drowned out by the maniacal screaming, Mei yelled for Kiana to run. The two turned their backs as they tried to make distance from their classmate.
Bang!
Kiana looked over her shoulder and saw blood splatter on the ground. Her friend, the source of the blood, screamed in pain and staggered with her arm covering her shoulder. At that moment, horror and rage filled the girl as she turned around and ran towards the monster that once was her classmate, tears forming in the corner of her eyes. He was screaming at Mei incoherent slurs as he shakily pointed the pistol at the injured girl again. “If I can’t have her, you can’t either!”
“STOOOOOP!” Kiana stepped in front of the loaded gun just as the man pulled the trigger.
Three shots rang in the still night air and then silence. His eyes widened and teared up and his eyebrows became furrowed with anguish as he realized what he had done. Previously overcome with fury, all the rage dissipated and he collapsed onto his knees and let out a single unbecoming wail.
“KIANA! KIANAA!!”
Kiana’s vision was blurry with tears though she didn’t know if it was from seeing Mei shot or from the excruciating pain flaring along her torso. All she could see was the cold light from the street lamp staring back at her with a solemn gaze. Somewhere among the ringing in her ear and the crying all around her, there was the sound of other concerned voices and a distant siren blaring.
Perhaps people discovered the tragic accident before it was too late. Black dots danced in the girl’s vision. Perhaps…she’ll still get to see all that’s beautiful in this world. That was her last thought before her world was shrouded in darkness.
-
The next thing Kiana remembered was waking up to a rectangular panel of light shining brightly down on her. She instinctively narrowed her eyes and moved a hand to shield her eyes though she didn’t need to. Wires followed, drawn up into the air by her hand. Where am I? she wondered, turning her head to her side slowly.
She could feel the softness of a bed beneath her. Snaking along the white fabric she rested on were even more wires like the ones attached to her hand. White walls and ceiling stared blankly back at her. But there, amidst the snow white surroundings, was a single woman with long purple hair tied in ponytail. She was peacefully resting her head on folded arms on the side of Kiana’s bed. Though at first Kiana didn’t recognize her, slowly it dawned on her who the sleeping lady was as she pieced together her memories. She immediately sat upright and held her breath in suspense. Part of her thought it was an illusion. The Mei in front of her was not the same as the one she remembered. She looked more mature and burdened, her shoulders slumped as if she carried a great weight. The pale skin was still the same but different at the same time. Her peaceful face carried scratches and dark circles unlike the silky smooth skin she once had. There was a smudge of oil on her cheek that she must’ve forgotten to clean off after she finished her previous work. Kiana reached gently to rub the oil off Mei’s cheek and then rested her hand on her friend’s, gradually intertwining their fingers. Under the warmth, she could feel calluses covering her hand.
You must have worked so hard, she thought with a throbbing in her heart as she pieced together what must have happened since she last “fell asleep”.
Kiana recalled the events of that night and subconsciously moved her other hand to feel her chest. Under the thin cloth, her skin felt smooth as if there was never a wound. She concluded she must have fainted from the bloodloss. How long was she unconscious for? What happened to their assaulter?
“Nn..”
The sudden break to the silence came from Mei, causing Kiana to look over at her friend in anticipation. Mei raised her head slightly and slowly blinked. The cheek she had pressed into her arm was red and had clothing folds printed in from the pressure. Her eyes landed on Kiana and began to water. She squeezed her friend’s hand as she let out tears of joy and relief. They leaned in together and held each other in one long embrace, both having so much they wanted to say. But for the moment, all they needed was each other’s touch to convey their feelings.
-
After their reunion, Mei began to tell Kiana about everything that happened while she was in comatose for 4 years. As she spoke, she braided the girl’s white hair into the twin braids she would wear when they went to school together. She told about how Kiana’s parents didn’t want to give up on her but things quickly turned for the worse. The emergence of the deadly VAMP-ALPHA virus plagued the world and sadly her parents fell victim to it. Mei explained how she managed to keep Kiana on life support despite the world falling apart and brought her to the now abandoned laboratory. Her voice was heavy with sorrow and pain beyond what the newly recovered girl could understand. Kiana learned that the US that they knew was now absent of people and had dried up from a long drought that had no end in sight. She learned about Mei’s life after the incident and was glad that she wasn’t crippled by the gun wound.
Once the braids were done, Mei helped Kiana out of the bed and led her to an adjacent room where she revealed two battlesuits, explaining that she made them for the recently awakened girl. Kiana shed the hospital gown and tried them on, moving her limbs around cautiously in her new outfit. As she grew more comfortable, she practiced running around and activating her new skills. She had a wide grin on her face as she ran along the walls and stopped to hang from the ceiling like spiderman, her twin braids dangling and swaying as she posed. Mei laughed for the first time in 4 years, wiping away tears from her face.
“Come down, silly,” she smiled, holding her arms out.
The white haired girl leapt down into her embrace, her static electricity causing Mei’s hair to stand on end with a crackle.
“By the way Mei, is that your suit?” Kiana asked, gesturing to the larger suit in the room.
“Actually, it’s yours too,” Mei said as she pressed one of the buttons on Kiana’s back. The giant wolf-like mecha came to life, sounding various beeps and lighting up its blue highlights along the shiny metal.
“Woah!” the girl gasped as the suit left its position and ran to their side. “That’s super cool! Mei, you’re amazing!”
The purple haired girl smiled and helped her into the new suit. She couldn’t help but think to herself, No, you are.
Kiana practiced moving around in her larger form and when she felt comfortable, she halted and asked again, “So where is your suit?”
This time, unable to dodge the question, Mei answered, “I didn’t make one yet.”
“Whaaaat, then use one of these!” Kiana insisted as she popped out of the larger suit and landed in front of Mei whose hair was still partially messed up from the static.
“No,” The older girl refused firmly, “You need the suit to help you get used to your body again. And the Hextech one only responds to you.”
Seeing no way to refute the argument, Kiana then promised confidently, “Fine. Then I’ll protect you no matter what.”
-
Kiana and Mei lived in their makeshift shelter for a while. On occasion, they had to go outside into the wasteland to obtain resources. Kiana was surprised by the transformation of the land and refused to believe a couple years could turn the land upside down like that. Life went on uneventfully for the two until one day on an expedition, they were ambushed.
Their assailants were quick to disarm Kiana and knock her unconscious. After waking back up, Mei was no where to be seen, kidnapped by the mysterious enemies. Kiana, frustrated by her inability to protect her friend after reuniting with her, searched far and wide for Mei and eventually runs into the group of refugees. She quickly realizes Mei is not among the group and is about to leave when she realizes now was the only time she could get help finding her friend. After some negotiations, she offers help for the refugees by providing her engineering skills and help scavenging for food and resources in the wastelands. In return, they were to also assist in searching for her friend on trips in the wasteland.

Mei Raiden: Kiana's friend/creator
Pre-Apocalypse Kiana
Pre-Apocalypse Mei
Character Theme:
Character Voice:
In Valkyrie Battlesuit:
In Hextech Battlesuit:
Other Functions:
Eating: Kiana can eat like normal humans and turn food into energy.
Waste: Kiana releases waste in the form of high temperature gas.
Self Repair: Kiana can repair her body and equipment on her own given she has the right materials.
Memory Conflicts:
The Memory Core gives her memories of being alive up to the age of 19 as Mei’s friend. She does not realize she is an android with false memories and acts like a human. There are a few changes to her memories that convince her she is a human despite the obvious differences between humans and robots.
Kiana believes she has her powers due to the battlesuits she wears. She can eat and sleep like a normal person but she can’t release waste in the same way so her memories were altered so that it seemed reasonable that she didn’t have to release waste like a normal human. The original Kiana died at 19 years old which is where her memories end. She believes that she was in a coma for 4 years instead.
Because Kiana wasn’t actually in a coma, she didn’t experience PTA after waking up. But she doesn’t know what that is so she didn’t question being in a coma.
