I'm looking to start a character driven world but it's my first time attempting it. The first thing I need to start building this world is investors. Investors not of money, but of time and mostly ideas. I've had this magic system floating around in my head for a few days now, and I really want to put it to use, but first I need a world to use it in; thus, I want to create a fantasy world where villains and heroes, rebels and kings, adventurers and powerful monsters, all write their own story. The foundation of the world will be made by us here in this thread, and then it will be given life by everyone who resides within the boundary of the new world. I'll place the magic system in my head into a spoiler below, let me know what you think.

Tier Two - The Astral Elements
Light - Holy and healing magics
Dark - Illusion and curse magics
Void - Used to reduce the space between magic anc matter (enchantments)
Tier Three - The Primordial Elements
Chaos - used to join two conflicting elements such as fire and water.
Harmony - used to join complementary elements, such as fire and air
Spacial - used to create gateways through the other elements.
as a side note, spacial gates can only connect to places the element you use naturally occurs in, eg. A water gate cannot connect into a desert, unless there is an oasis present. Spacial magics cannot be used without the use of another element, light cannot be used with spacial magic except through a ritual by 4 or more mages, the number depends on the mana reserves of those present, some exceptionally strong individualy may be an exception to this rule.
The magic system is a little complicated at first glance but since you're here give it a look. It's based on a 3 Tier system. Each tier is harder to learn than the last as would be expected.
