Yes! It is possible for both to have different weapons.
The Celestial is the weapon, so they have a prefered weapon form, but can also be whatever Weapon the Wielder wants.
Remember that a Celestials Last name is like a Command Prompt for them

The hotheaded yet loving prince of the fire nation, it's truly an amazing series with such cool storytelling, the fire nation, in particular, is based on China, even the moves they use to control fire, you gotta check it out!!
