Fantasy Caught in a Nightmare (( Now Open all are welcome!))

What did you do before you put out the light?


Read a good book, argued with your lover, studied before a really important exam? Whatever it was, maybe you should just kept on doing that. The least smart thing you did tonight was turning of that light and crawling down under your cozy sheets. Maybe it felt like a great idea in the beginning, being able to relax, letting go of everything and just fall asleep. Well, that was until it happened.


Suddenly, standing in a completely black ocean, nothing could been seen. Was it a room? Did you even have anything around you? How could you know what was in front of you when you can’t see? Maybe it was just a dream, a nightmare, a strange nightmare. Feeling cold, feeling nervous and somewhat curios. Wanting to get out of that dark room, taking a step forward, trying to find the light switch. But there is no light switch, there is nothing around you. Falling down, falling forever. It could have kept on forever, afraid of hitting the ground, thinking you should be waking up by now. Because that’s the way nightmares work, right?


But no, not this one. You just kept on falling, hitting the hard ground. The soggy cold ground. Dazed you rise up looking around, where are you? A graveyard? What kind of dream… nightmare is this? You should be awake by now! Hearing the thuds around you, looking down and seeing three others wail on the ground after the hard fall. You all look equally astonished, not knowing what the heck had just happened to you.


But you’re not alone on that inhospitable graveyard, you were being watched by some others. Sitting a short distance away watching you closely. This was surprising for them too, because all of them had been alone for such a long time – some shorter than others however. Being alone, wondering if this really was that heaven people had told them about, because they were dead. And they are your only way out of this land. They are your guides but, do they really want to guide you? Well give them a damn good reason to do that then! Fool them, charm them or just try to survive on your own if you think you can do that. But look out because those peo- things are not the worst things out there. This is the land were all nightmares comes from. So all creatures created by fear are lurking in this strange kingdom and what wouldn’t they do just to have something fun to do. Well, you are that fun thing so watch your back well.

So you want to know a little bit more? No? Well either way I am going to explain how this strange thing works and how it happened.


By falling asleep the humans got sucked into another dimension, not their physical body but their mind. So their souls are trapped in the land of nightmares, but it’s not only theirs souls who are caught. Those dead guys, they are kind of trapped to, it’s not their physical bodies either but their minds as well. They were supposed to travel to the afterlife but got stuck on the way, being trapped in a lonely prison they can never get out from, being all alone – until now. What has happened to their mind after what happened to them, all alone for what could be decades and now suddenly some people who are not even dead just happened to land on their graveyard. Brining a lot of troubles.


So your soul is stuck in another dimension with a bunch of spirits of dead humans and creatures created by the fear of man, how do you get out? Well there is an exit, but you just have to find it and get there. In one piece.


If you do that, you survive, you get to live your normal life again. You will wake up from this horrible nightmare. Or is it really a nightmare? Yes it is a struggle but on the way, don’t you get close to each other? Aren’t you friends in the end, maybe not, you might as well kill each other’s in the end because you can’t take the pressure.


Well if you do find the exit sign flickering over that lonely door in the distant you can get out, it’s just a simple door. Looking like every other exit door you have seen, will you get there? Will you be able to leave, do you want to leave? Well it’s your choice, just try to keep your head on while traveling okay.


The Humans

Well they are just unlucky fellows who got dragged into something they actually can’t control at all. They can be from anywhere in the world, in any ages, with any background. Hey they can even be bank robbers if you want that! But they must come from our time, no sci-fi and no medieval characters here.


The Dead

They are neither zombies nor ghosts, they are just souls of people who died that got caught in this land of horror. You can touch them since they have the same form as the humans and the other creatures - spirit form, a form that can’t be seen by a normal human but lurks in your mind either way. They can’t be killed but they do feel pain. These characters can come from any time you want except the future, they could have died hundreds of years ago or just yesterday.


The nightmare

These creatures can have any form, they can be animals and they can be human like – with other words anything you want. They can use magic if you want them to, but the magic they use should be connected to what kind of nightmare they represent! Well only your imagination can prevent you on this, they can be any kind of monsters (vampire, werewolf, bogeyman, the creature under the bed). Just have fun making up some monsters.
