Unyielding Flame (Artifact 2)
This crimson reinforced buff jacket is made using plates of thick jade and the finest fabrics interwoven with jade threads, allowing its wearer superior protection and the satifsfaction of never kneeling down to the harsh reality of fatigue. Though of course, only at a cost. For a commitment of 3 motes the armor works just as intended.
Further, the Unyielding Flame possesses another property should its owner be a Fire aspected Terrestrial. Whenever the wearer wishes it so, he may reflexively commit a further three motes for one scene. For that scene, the wearer may call on his anima banner reflexively, turning it on and off like the flick of a switch. Though that is only true as long as the anima banner would not flare out due to normal expenditure of essence, at which point he may no longer turn it off. Nevertheless this give the wearer access to a deadly torrent of flame with convenient ease, making this armor quite valuable in the right hands.

The Nothern Star was found wandering the icy wastes one day, famished and barely standing by the people of a small coastal town. There he perished from his wounds but not before giving them his name and more precious, his armor. Soon enough it found its way into the grubby hands of the Guild which later sold it to the people of House Cathak. No one is quite certain who forged this impressive piece of metalwork or why but there is no deying its value. At first it made its way into the hands of the Cathak War Hero known as the Wolf of the East for his brave depredations against the vile Lintha pirates until the poor man found his demise at sea, though thankfully the survivors brought back his corpse and belongings. The armor was subsequently handed down as a family heirloom to his nephew, an apprentice Immaculate Monk, Cathak Liam.
Blazing Crusader's Retribution (Artifact 2 each, 3 for a pair)
Magnificently crafted and balanced, these crimson jade short daiklaves appear to be almost possessed of a life of their own, pulsating and gently burning inside with a primordial magic that is quite disturbing to most magical beings but very reassuring in the solid grasp of a Fire aspected Terrestrial, the true and only worthy master of such a glorious and holy weapon.
As the holy vessel of those most worthy in the Immaculate Order, there is no doubt that they their true secret power will come to the fore in the time of need of any Monk wielding them. And so it is, for as long as the monk's anima banner is shown for the world to see, he may reflexively spend two motes to bathe his daiklaves in holy fire white as the impossible fury of its wielder against things wicked and unnatural, in such a state these weapons become a bane to those spirits who would challenge the rightful rulers of Creation. They become capable of striking dematerialized opponents, though help none in locating them. Furthermore, they deal aggravated damage against such entities when in this state of santified awakening.
In this state the monk is quite obvious to anyone who is willing to look, bright searing runes circling around him and allowing anyone who wish it so to read up to a spearcast comfortably.

Background:
Liam began his life like any Dynast, growing up among his numerous peers. Cathak households were always full of children, and their nurses always told them the stories of bravery and sacrifice of the many Cathak soldiers who have become legend. With his brothers and sisters, cousins and extended family, he would often recreate battles such as Cathak Ghori's last stand against a barbarian hordes. He knew the story by heart. Ghori and his men had been deserted by their commanders, with thousands of the unclean masses closing in around them. Until that day Ghori had been an unremarkable soldier, but as the battle raged on he was blessed by Hesiesh. The poets, soldiers who claimed to have witnessed this miracle, said that Ghori slaughtered so many of the filthy outlanders that you could walk around for miles without touching the ground. In these mock battles, sometimes Liam played the role of the hero. Then other times he played the role of the barbarians, dying with exaggerated gestures over and over again.
These stories, although they came to be obvious myths and half-truths, never left Liam as childhood ended and adulthood began. His inner child kept every detail of every battle his nurses told him, every battle hymn his nannies would sing to him. His dreams have been filled with glorious violence and epic heroics that urge his desire to be entered into the annals of his House's history. Like any other Cathak, he knew with certainty that he is fated either to become a monk battling upstart gods and demons or a soldier who stands against forces that would try to undo civilization. His exaltation had a large influence on his decision to attend the Cloister of Wisdom. While he was always an adamant believer in the Immaculate Philosophy, he knew the power that came with the immaculate martial arts would be a path the his own personal glory. In the legions, he knew he'd only be one faced among many, but as a holy man, he would be able to stand alone.
Despite his efforts to give the appearance that he had given his life to the Order, the monks had seen his type before. The young man stunk of selfish pride. In an effort to break him ran him through a hellish gauntlet to attempt to harvest his potential. He was given only minimal amounts of food and water. They would set him on fire to watch how long he could smolder before collapsing. For weeks at time he would run buckets of water up and down stone steps, sun up to sun down. Dressed in heavy and unwieldy armor, the monks and students alike would throw stones he would attempt to dodge. More often than not, he was left unconscious. When he moved on to his kung fu, he was always called on to demonstrate stance and nearly always punished regardless how it was performed.
This training had mixed results. It did teach him discipline and washed away his pride. This intense and cruel training has dampened his sense of empathy, one of the most important traits a holy man can possess. Even with the best efforts of the most skilled masters of the Immaculate Order, his inner child had not gone away completely. Somewhere beneath the hardened outer layers of his mind, the screaming children fought their battles with sticks and his desire to be remembered gave off a puff of smoke. His fire never completely went out.
The old monks knew they had failed with this one pupil, but one of them had a suggestion on how to salvage the work the had put into building him. He must complete a pilgrimage to one of the elemental poles, and bring back a gift worthy of the Order's blessing. This elder monk hoped that worldly experience would give Liam some insight. Liam saw it as a duty to serve. He was commanded to go, so he would go. In his charge were three mortal monks, who would help see to his everyday needs and assist him in preaching the Immaculate Philosophy. He left the Cloister to seek the destiny he can taste on the tip of his tongue.
Personality Profile -
If someone was to analyze Liam's personality, this is what they would find. He is by and large a humorless person. He understands the concept, and will even give smirk if he feels the joke warrants, but most of the time he's locked inside own head. It would also be noted he has a dependence of others, and hates to be alone for more there a few hours at a time. He does not always need conversation, simple proximity will do. Without human contact, intimate or otherwise, he will slowly go insane. He is slow to warm up to an individual, but once he trusts a person he will gladly talk to them about everything from the latest gossip to military history to proper martial arts techniques. Despite his coldness, he'd never betray a friend willingly, and would feel unbearable guilt if it was done by accident. Once one got to know Liam, they might notice he has what you would call “delusions of grandeurâ€, even for a Prince of the Earth. He obviously vividly day dreams about saving the Realm, possibly all of Creation, from some enemy unknown. Nothing in his fantasies are well defined, and he is often simply rambling like a small child on the rare occasion he opens up about them. He is slow to anger, but once his anger is ignited, it can quickly become an inferno unless someone is able to talk sense into him. Violence comes naturally to him and he quickly loses himself in it. He is aware of this weakness, and he tries to keep himself from indulging in bloodthirst. As of yet, he's managed to keep his cool more than he has lost it.
