Princess of Euthalia
King of Euthalia
Name: King Regis Mutto Euthalia
Age: 54
About: One of the most controversial rulers in Roserasia's history, King Mutto may be seen through the judgement of history as either a great and powerful leader or a ruthless tyrant. Under his leadership, Roserasia has seen much improvement in economy, education, and infrastructure (the recently finished road system funded early in his rule now makes it possible to traverse from Nezzie's Westernmost peninsulas to Saint Lyon in under one day, given no highway bandits and a top-line carriage). He is known as a benevolent family man who dotes on his daughter when he has the time, while always keeping a strong eye focused on progress.
And anything that may impede that progress....
Having to lead Euthalia through a troubling time about a decade ago when the neighboring Ceasar Kingdom decided to launch an attack, his firm and decisive throttling of the rebellion, ending in the execution of many of its leaders, still leaves a bad taste in the mouth of some. But King Mutto shows no sign of regret, and has made it clear that any such distractions impeding Roserasia's advancement will not be tolerated.
On the other hand, after news of the troubles in Lepumir began to spread, the king remained strangely reticent. Since arie live all throughout Roserasia, his decision here is particularly important. He also has his daughter's official "coming out" at her first Cendrillion Ball to think about, and her interactions there may influence the future of the world. Not to mention he is beginning to feel the ravages of time, and is perhaps not as militarily shrewd as in his younger days...
Though he loves his daughter deeply, he has never taken an active role in her upbringing and doesn't have any real expectations of her becoming a capable queen. Rather, he is more keen on her finding a suitable partner who will inherit his title and be more apt to handle his responsibilities.
Queen of Euthalia
Name: Queen Aelita Dominique Euthalia
Age: 42
About: A distant relative of the old Caesar royal line, Queen Aelita first charmed King Mutto at the Cendrillion Ball many years ago. Known for her quick wit she made a perfect balance for the reserved and equally astute king. While much beloved to the King of Euthalia and a powerful ruler in her heyday, ever since the failure of the Caesar Rebellion, Queen Aelita has seemed...much removed from herself. These days she hardly makes public appearances, under the guise of "feeling ill." However, at times glimpses of a strange figure can be see running through Waltz Castle's grounds late at night, making terrible shrieks. This has led to the onset of many rumors. King Mutto has abstained from making any official comment on his wife's status, other than she is ill of health.
Servant to the King
Name: Balthasar Buxx
Age: 47
About: A cat-based aria, Balthasar is always dressed to the nines and has a poised attitude as refined as his suits. Because of this, he is the king's most trusted servant and the Majordomo of Waltz Castle. While steadfast and stalwart, Balthasar has his own private affairs to manage in Saint Lyon, such as an adoring wife who is also a castle servant, and a daughter aspiring to become the first aria allowed to play in the Dance Hall Orchestra. While he has not yet broached this topic with the King, Balthasar is hopeful to see her play during the Cendrillion Ball's Festival of Music.
Captain of the Guard
Second in Command
Leader of the Rebellion
Prince of Lepumir
✥ The Following Characters will be Controlled by the GMs ✥
Princess of Euthalia
Name: Princess Evalyn Euthalia
Age: 19
About: Growing up in the lap of luxury, Princess Evalyn lives a happy, boisterous life, never having to think about things too deeply. As a princess she is all too happy to accept her role's benefits without taking on any of the bothersome responsibilities. If it weren't for the concentrated efforts of her constant attendant Kip, she would be perfectly content to lounge around in fluffy dresses and eat delicious foods for the rest of her life (and her appetite is no joke, said to be the biggest in all Euthalia...). However, she is also graced by a great spirit of adventure, though one might less kindly say she has a problem with impulse control. She takes pleasure in leaving Waltz Castle to interact with the people of Saint Lyon, and her friendly attitude has won her many admirers.
While an accomplished fencer and surprisingly handy at needlework, she was never very good at her studies and has little patience for politics. Above all she could never understand her country's fascination with dancing, a necessary pastime she loathes. Rather than finding a life partner through dance, she is much more keen on social interactions, though in her sparse meetings with the other countries' sons, she never seemed much taken with them.
Well, save for one exception...
The thing that people would be most likely to remember the princess by is her great sense of humor and free-spirited love of fun and life. However, it was these qualities that caused her to panic on the eve of her official political "coming out" into the world of high society, seeking an alternative route through Kip's magic.

Captain of the Guard
Name: Falkor Grahn
Age: 32
About: Son to a family of poor countryside merchants, the tale of Falkor's rise to prominence is almost a fairytale itself. Though he long dreamt of a position above his bumbling parents' status, being uneducated and living far to the southwest, near Euthalia's border with Greedo, he never knew that opportunity awaited him just north in the capital until happenstance united him with an old woman fallen on the side of the road. After Falkor helped her up and gave her his portion of food and water, she told him that he was destined to find glory in Saint Lyon. The young aria departed the very next day and hasn't looked back since. He was recruited into Euthalia's army after succeeding in a local tournament auspiciously held the day of his arrival in the capital city, and with a genuinely good nature paired with a staunch determination, he quickly gained favor with his superiors to rise through the ranks. Falkor's greatest luck of all was found during the Cesar Rebellion, where, again, serendipity placed him in charge of the squadron which took down the rebel's main force. Afterwards his position as Second in Command soon gave way to Captain of the Guard when the old Captain stepped down due to age and coming into a wealthy retirement from a deceased relative. Leading a charmed life has made the once ambitious youth rather lenient, and while his men love his laid-back, older-brother-like attitude, it seems as if Falkor's fortune may have finally turned with the arrival of an unforeseen rival from the north: the new Second in Command, Holwood.

Second in Command
Name: Holwood Bergfalk
Age: 28
About: Mysterious as he is formidable, Holwood arrived in Saint Lyon one day, rumored to have blown in on a cold Northern wind. While he says he hails from Nezzie, which would certainly align with his strict, shrewd military training, there are whispers of his origins in the Sea Republic, and tales of a similar-looking aria having participated in the Cesar Rebellion not too long ago. But such talk is nonsense, of course. Holwood would have barely been but a chick back then! Now, however, that chick has grown into an intelligent and capable commander, who came with good recommendations from a Nezzie General, claiming that he had left the harsh climates on matters of health, but was no less capable a military man as any raised on the lightning-scarred tundra. And like lightning Holwood made a name for himself, taking up King Mutto's banner of progress to suggest military reforms which have greatly increased the productivity and organization of Euthalia's guard. Having an almost uncannily keen eye, Holwood also serves as chief investigator on matters that concern Waltz Castle or the royal family, and has earned some acclaim for his ability to solve tricky cases.

Leader of the Rebellion
Name: Unknown
Age: Unknown
About: Outside of Lepumir, little but rumors are known about the mysterious rebel leader. Since the Rebellion started some months ago, already as many origin myths for the leader have arisen as people willing to tell them. An embittered leftover from the failed Caesar Rebellion...a former convict...a savage new breed from across the seas...a simple farmer finally unable to take human-to-aria abuse...Only a trusted few have come into actual contact with them. In their few public appearances, they are always flanked by their top supporters and hidden behind a helmet or mask. Perhaps no one would even be able to recognize them if they saw them without such heavy armor.
However, one thing is known for sure: The rebel leader is imbued with a deep, eternal hatred for mankind. No matter from whence that hatred originated, it powers them to the very core of their being, driving them to such lengths as to disturb a long-held peace between races and encouraging genocide in Lepumir. They say that the leader themselves was the one to kill the Quince king and queen. And likely their son, too, as no one has heard anything of his whereabouts. Perhaps his body was too mutilated even to display upon the castle's torrents alongside his parents' heads...
Under the Rebellion, arie have been encouraged to drive the humans out of Lepumir. Any that became trapped or decided to remain are slowly being scouted out and killed, with a tiny percent salvaged for slave labor. No trial. No chance for redemption. The leader believes that only such a display of force is enough to finally catch the humans' attentions after so many years of casually dismissing arie as a mere subservient race.
Still, many are shocked by the extreme violence of these displays, though others believe they are mere exaggerated rumors. But no one seems brave enough to test those rumors outside of the arie, who have begun timidly migrating towards Lepumir's borders, either out of a sense of independence or inherent violence within themselves.
Most surprising is, since the storm on Oberon Castle and initial proclamation asking arie to rise up and cast humanity away, not a word has been heard from the Rebellion. It is as if the leader themselves is awaiting their largest opponent - the Euthalian Court's - next move...

Prince of Lepumir
Name: Lysander Quince
Age: 25
About: The sole heir of Demetrius Quince, Roserasia's most ancient country's King, Lysander's birth is shadowed by controversy. This is because his coming suspiciously coincided with the King's scandalous divorce from his first wife and remarriage to a lower Avescamp noble. However, per King Demetrius's request, Lysander grew up unaware of any dubious origins, living a comparatively ordinary life outside of his unusual albino complexion. The suave prince fostered a taste for intellectual pursuits, eventually leading him into a friendship with the similarly scientifically-minded prince of neighboring Nezzie, Kiefer Arlie Avescamp, believed to be a distant relative through his father's second wife. Although last year Lysander's skills in dance were enough to win him the grand prize at the Cendrillion Ball's crowning event, soon after making the long journey home, tragedy struck. While multiple accounts (as well as the Rebellion's own bragging) have confirmed the king and queen's executions (remnants of their bodies having been displayed on Oberon Castle's gates for all to see), nothing is currently known about the whereabouts of the missing prince. To this day he has become a symbol for the innocent blood shed through the vile Rebellion, and his friend Kiefer continues to hold out hope in finding him, never ceasing in his search...
