Name: Riley Morgana Smith

Age: 16

Appearance:
Blue-eyes-brown-hair-girl-green-nature-Favim.com-460268_large-1-.jpg

Personality: Riley is a person who is compassionate, dependable, loyal, reliable, and also being strong both physically and emotionally. Stubbornness, aggressiveness, sensitivity and a dislike when faced with change are all weaknesses. She is strong and silent, but until you really get to know her personally, if your successful in breaking down her mental and physical walls to protect herself, you will probably not see her true self or who she really is behind her hard exterior. She is very stubborn and once her mind is made up, swaying her even a little is next to impossible. Although, she is incredibly indecisive to coming to that decision. If you do not try to push, She will come across as being laid back and reserved. Take heed though because if you anger her, it is likely that you might find a violent temper. However, her tempers generally will not flare until she is pushed to a point of feeling uncomfortable and/or provoked to act. She makes a wonderful friend, and whenever you need her she will certainly be the first to help. She knows exactly how to brighten the day of friends in need. Don't count on her to ever calling on you to return the favour. She is very in tune with her emotions and rarely display them. She is loyal and will stand beside a friend until the bitter end. Although, despite this, it is rather hard to become a friend with her in the first place. If she is in a situation where someone needs to stand up, she will.... eventually. She is capable of being a leader and all round nice person, but it's the emotional walls that keep her back.

Bio/History: Her parents often fought during her childhood. While staying away from home during one such fight, she listened to music from a band called Sad Machine that struck a chord within her. Inspired, she started to play guitar and sing, but secretly of course. Unfortunately, just as she started to make a name for herself in the music world, she collapsed while working at her part time job and as the result of a severe cerebral stroke that left her unable to sing again. The cause of the stroke was head trauma she suffered as a child while try to stop a fight between her parents during which her father hit her with a beer bottle. She spent the rest of her life in severe depression, silently cursing her fate. And because of her damaged vocal cords, she does not speak much anymore, only when she has to. Initially, there was a doctor in Beijing, China that could help her vocal cords.

Skills: Riley isn't much of the athletic type. She is more skilled in the arts, such as her primary love for music. She is talented with almost every instrument, now except for her damaged voice. Although, she is also skilled with a bow and arrow, for which she grew accustomed to in school.

Other: "I..... just want.... a life....."

Eric sit there with his head pressed against one of the windows of the plane with his headphones in listening to a band called Brand New, A reasonably unknown band, Eric enjoyed listening to indie bands, in his opinion mainstream music was dead. He watched as they past cloud after cloud and all he could see below them was the blue ocean that stretched on in every direction as far as the eye could see. He was on his way to Beijing, China to stay with his Grandma for a while, who wasnt Chinese but she lived there anyway. He looked around the plane, half of the plane seemed to be asleep while the other half were ever reading or watching a movie on the screens that were on the backs of each seat.

Jacob decided to turn on his screen to see what was on. He used the small remoted that was connected to each tv to flick through what movies were available. Men in Black, "No..way" Jacob thought to himself and skipped to the next movie, he didnt have anything against Men In Black it was just an old movie and not that great. The Hunger Games "Hmm not a bad movie, but NEXT". The next movie was Castaway, Jacob racked his mind, had he seen that movie before? He had, Tom Hanks's plane crashes on an island in the middle of the ocean, very fitting.

((bit short, future posts will be longer))

(Sorry if this isn't very captivating. I usually am a better writer, but crap's going on. In the future my posts will be longer, and more detailed. Sorry in advance)

Riley sipped some water as she continued to watch 'Non-Stop', a thriller starring Liam Neeson about terrorism on a plane. She winced as the cold water glided over her soar throat, causing it to sting and burn. She silently sighed, as if to relieve the pressure and tried to focus on the movie. But the idea of terrorism and highjacking a plane wasn't settling. And Riley hated flying. The take off and landing were the worst. Hopefully this doctor in Beijing was all he crapped up to be about being a successful doctor for throats. She desperately wanted her voice back, even if it meant flying in a metal death trap over long distances in an extremely uncomfortable economy seat.

While Riley damned her circumstances, she let her eyes wonder around the cabin. There was an overly muscled body builder in front of her, blocking her view. She rolled her eyes and stood, deciding it would be therapeutic of she stretched her legs.

But just as she exited her seat, the body builder's legs were in the isle, causing her to trip over his large feet and fall flat on her face. She felt her face flush, considering a rather good looking young man around her age was beside her and witnessed the whole thing. Could this trip be any worse?

Eric continued to watch the movie, Castaway, He was up to the part where the plane crashes into the ocean when out of the corner of the eye he saw someone fall over, it was the girl who had been sitting in the same aisle as him. It looked like she had tripped over someone's legs. He wanted to help her but he's unsocial side got the better of him, instead he just said "Are you alright?" Before one of the flight attendants came to her aid. Eric turned back to his movie when suddenly there was a violent shake which jarred him a little. It's just turbulence" a flight attendant called. Eric didnt mind a little bit of Turbulence but he couldnt say that it was exactly comfortable. Suddenly the plane gave another violent shake before going into a complete dive straight towards the ocean that was thousands of feet below them. Eric was caught by his seatbelt and he instinctively threw out his arms to catch the girl who had been moving past him to get back to his seat. He was now holding her in a sort of bear hug which made him quite uncomfortable.

The other passengers started to scream and let out crys of fear, the flight Attendants were thrown back down the plane one being knocked out cold. Eric's arms quickly became quite sore from holding the girl. Even though he didnt look like it, he was panicking in his mind, they were going to crash into the ocean, strangely just like the movie he was watching. He tried to lower the girl on the back of the seats that were now below them.

Riley groaned and nodded as she tried to regain her footing. The guy beside her asked if she was alright, and in return she just nodded. A flight attendant came to her aid, but Riley just waved her off. She didn't need help. She could stand on a moving plane. It's not like the plane's going to fall out of the sky.

Then turbulence hit. Riley struggled to return to her seat, which was just across the isle from the man. She could feel a headache coming on. Side effects of dangerous flying. The attendants reassured everyone it was just regular, normal turbulence. Riley wasn't convinced. She was practically bouncing from the momentum.

Suddenly, the plane jerked forward, causing Riley to loose her footing and face plant the isle floor again. For peats sake, she could slowly feel her face start to hurt. The realisation hit her that the plane was nose diving straight for the ground below... if there was even a ground below. She had been seated in the middle seats, so she had no idea where the plane was at that moment, which scared her even more than the fact that they were falling. She was going to die, and she didn't like it at all. Then again, who would?

At that same moment, which seemed like hours but was just about a second, she felt strong arms catch her before she fell towards the front of the plane. The boy beside her had caught her, and now sat her on his lap for safety. In any other circumstance, Riley would feel undoubtedly uncomfortable. Although, the screams, shouts and the inability to grab onto anything other than a stranger terrified her so much that she wasn't thinking about how she felt other than fear. She wasn't ready to die, but at least she'll go down with a man, which is more than she could say with a lot of stupid, popular girls at her high school.

She did feel sorry for him, in a way as well. She was practically holding on to him in a bear hug for dear life. He also was probably uncomfortable, if he wasn't a go getter sleaze. He didn't look it, or seem like it though, so in some ways that reassured her. But that didn't stop the fact that if she let go, she would fall to her death... earlier than she would if she held on and waited for the plane to crash.

Just then, the boy grimaced as he tried to lay her down on the seats vertically in front of them. She understood and obeyed, climbing over the seats to sit and buckle her seat belt as fast as she could, while her mind screamed for it all to be over. What were the odds of this happening? 1 to a Billion? No wonder Riley hated flying.

Eric was being pushed back against his seat as the plane continued the vertical dive that it was in, it felt like they were picking up speed, He looked out the window, he could see the sea of blue below looming closer and closer by the second, they were going to crash into the ocean. Screams of the passengers continued, Although Eric was almost silent, He wanted to survive, but what were the odds when the plane was going to crash at who knows how fast straight into the ocean where there was nothing for thousands of miles. Suddenly there was a loud and intense bang and the left wing of the plane was pulled straight off by the force of the wind taking with it, part of the left side of the plane leave a huge gap, Eric watched as people seats were ripped off the base off the plane and they were sucked into the air, It was lucky that he was on the right side of the plane. He held on tight to his seat, The screams became almost impossible to hear over the extremely loud wind.

Eric watched as the body builder who was sitting next to him was ripped off the plane and thrown into the air, instantly dissapearing, oh no, it was going to happen to him too. Suddenly water rushed up to meet him hitting him like a brick in the face, The entire plane was quickly consumed by freezing cold water, He was spinning, his seat had become detached under the water, The water hadnt quite cleared so he was basically blind, He thumbled for his seat belt and quickly managed to unlocked it, He felt himself hit what he assumed was the inside of the plane, The water cleared after a few seconds and he could see, but he was running out of breath, fast and the Plane was quickly sinking with every moment he spent still there, He swam towards the huge gap in the left side of plane, He was panicking but he still noticed some people frantically trying to excape their seatbelts who were in the process of drowning, people who were already dead, he didnt see anyone swimming around, but he wasnt really looking.

He swam out of the gap, He had to breath, He frantically used all his energy to swim upwards, he could see the light, He couldnt hold his breath for much longer, He opened his mouth to catch a mouthful of freezing cold water before finally breaking the surface of the water and gasping for breath. He looked around him, bits of plane were sloating in the water even though the water was freezing cold part of it seemed to be on fire.

Before Riley knew it, the left wing was ripped off, following with the whole left side of the plane opened like a giant vortex to your doom with rapid winds a couple hundred feet above ground... water. Riley shrieked when multiple people were thrown out of their chairs, or with their chairs and out into the vast open air to die. Even the overly sized body builder was ripped out of the plane, chair and all.

At this moment, Riley's heart was pounding a million miles an hour. She wouldn't be surprised if she had a heart attack before her inevitable death via plane crash. And all the while this phenomenon was happening, she didn't let out a single breath. No scream, no cry. Facing death as Riley was, was utterly frightening, of course. But like the doctors had said before she left, screaming would be useless and would most likely damage her throat even more. Great... she couldn't even scream to who ever was up in the clouds waiting for her to fuck off. She wasn't ready to die. No one was really. But in her head, not even the most evilest person in the world would approve of her chosen last cuss (Curse) words.

As Riley contemplated on what would happen next in this unfortunate event, Riley was throne forward with a jerk from the force of impact of the front of the plane to the ocean water. More faster than Riley thought, the water rushed in through the smashed windows and open gap on the left side of the plane, causing the remaining survivors to drown as the plane sank deep below the ocean.

Riley desperately tugged on her seat belt, but apparently it was stuck. How cliché. She pulled and pulled, but it wouldn't budge. She was running out of air, and soon she would be fully engulfed in salty water. Luckily, just as her head was fully submerged in water, she was able to wiggle out of the seat belt and swim up.

However, with the ongoing momentum of the plane heading down, she was sucked down with it. She could feel her lungs decreasing from lack of air and she was starting to feel dizzy.

The only thing Riley could think of was a ballon. She remembered the life vest and frantically searched for one before she ran out of air. Finally, she found one on a young girl around 5 or 6 years old, already dead with a teddy bear tucked in her seat belt beside her. In any other circumstance, Riley would feel bad. But now, she was dead if she didn't grab that life vest. With her last remaining breath, she pulled on the life vest, blew into it to inflate it with air and swam upwards as it helped her float up and away from the wrecked plane. All those years of safety procedures before a flight payed off.

Unfortunately, she used her last breath for the inflation. Halfway up, she could feel herself loosing consciousness, and just as she broke the surface, she blacked out.

(Sorry about the ending. I realise it's a bit cliché with the whole guy saving girl thing, but I think in order for their future to be successful and friendly, I guess Riley needs to feel obligated to hang around your OC other wise she would be to stubborn to stay, you know? Sorry if my plans ruined yours. Can Eric make a pit stop, saving a lowly girl?)

Eric tredded water looking around for something to float on. Suddenly something popped out of the water giving a bit of a fright causing him to go back under the freezing water for only a few seconds, When he resurfaced he realised it was the girl he had caught when the plane had suddenly nose dived only minutes ago. He's first thought was that she was dead, he decided to check her pulse, he put two fingers on her neck, There was a steady pulse, not to strong but not to weak ever, she was only unconscious.

The Life vest she was hearing greatly helped him keep her and himself up but he was getting tired quickly, suddenly a voice called out "Hey! HEY! OVER HERE!" He heard a man yell, he turned his head to wear the voice was coming from, there was an african american man with one knee on the edge of a yellow life raft, Judging by his uniform he was flying the plane, maybe the captain? Eric pulled the unconscious girl along as he swam towards the life raft, maybe he would live for a little while longer.

After what seemed like forever he finally reached life raft, The Captain pulled the unconcsious girl up into the life raft and then helped Eric himself up. Eric lay there in the life raft for a moment, it wasnt to comfortable, rubbery and wet and not exactly spacey either. "Is she alive?" The Captain asked Eric franitcally, obviously he wasnt coping to well with the crash "I Dont know!" Eric said as he moved over to the unconscious girl, He started giving the girl CPR, Minus the mouth to mouth because despite popular belief its not really necessary all the time.

He could still hear the roar of one of the plane engines as it sank into the water, suddeny a large wave hit the life raft, it didnt flip it or anything but it did push it out of the wreckage a little bit. Would they survive? No food, No drinkable water.. Eric wasnt sure.

Riley coughed up the water that had been in her lungs, and took raspy deep breaths to regain her composure and breath. When she opened her eyes, she was on a life raft with the boy from before leaning over her and what seemed to be the Captain, judging by his uniform. With a nod and small smile to the boy in thanks for reviving her, she sat up and breathed "Thanks..." The waves were gigantic, splashing into the life raft, making it disorientating as it also rained down. The darkness of night didn't seem to help either.

Although the large waves did make it seem that they were floating away from the devastation of the wreckage, Riley knew what deep shit she was in. With a plane wreck like that, in the middle of the ocean, Riley had no hope. And what little she had went to her guitar. She'd lost it forever. Hopefully it went down undamaged. Even the chance of survival was slim. With no food or water, or even a block of land insight, Riley wondered why she was even still alive.

The 3 watched in silence as the plane's last remaining engine exploded, and the plane finally fully submerged down into the water. There goes her chance at fixing her voice...

((sorry for late reply been really busy, cant believe its already saturday and you posted that on tuesday, wowowowow))

"No problem"" Eric replied, fiving a weak smile as they watched the last engine of the plane die out, then all was silent except for the rain that was slowly getting heavier, Eric looked up at the sky to see heavy grey clouds rolling at a decent speed across the sky towards them. Suddenly the silence was cut by a high pitched voice "HELP ME! HEELLLP!" The voice called out, the 3 of them looked around frantically until Jacob spotted a man and what looked to be an unconscious woman hanging onto what looked like part of a plane seat, they were about 30 metres away. "SWIM OVER HERE!" Eric called out to the man.

The man started to kick his feet frantically slowly moving the seat with unconscious woman ontop through the water. Eric would of liked to jump in and help but the thought of the cold icey water freezing his muscles scared him into staying aboard the life raft that had saved his and the other girls life. After a few minutes the man reached the life raft, Eric and the captain leaned over the side and lifted the unconscious woman onto the life raft and then helped the man up onto it.

(( It's alright. I've got writers block, so sorry if this is short ))

Riley softly smiled as the boy replied, but the tension in the air from just loosing everything kept her from being truly grateful. She was soaking wet, and freezing cold. She had just lost her luggage, and one of the most important things in the whole world now sat at the bottom of the ocean. She was not amused.

The sudden calls for help snapped Riley out of her depressed state. She watched, not sure how to help as the Captain and the boy helped the survivors. There seemed to be an unconscious woman and a man, who's features she couldn't make out from the salt in her eyes. She rubbed them, and kept back from the chaos as the boy and Captain went to work on helping the survivors, and exchanging information.

((Hi! i will post ASAP, sorry i havent posted, to be honest i have major depression and i slit my wrist.. ive been in hospital for the last week so yeah.. ill reply soon!))
((I think we'll do a bit of a time skip))

The last thing Eric remembered was a storm, the loud thunder and the huge flashes of lightening as he club to the life raft, then there was a wave, 50 feet high atleast, then everything went black.

Eric gasped for air as he awoke from his unconscious state, He was on his back looking up at the grey sky, it was still raining and this combined with the thunder made an extremely loud nopise that blocked out everything else, Eric could barely hear himself think. He realised he was not in water but on a wet and soft ground, he moved his hand to pick up a handful of brownish sand. He was sore every part of his body was aching, he sat up groaning. He was facing the ocean, it was churning violentley. He looked around he was on a long stretch of sand, an island, behind he was a large and vast jungle of trees and vines. There was no sign of the captain, the girl or the man and the woman they had helped save.

{YAY! Time Skip!}

There was Darkness. Cold Darkness, as if Riley had been swallowed up by the chaos of the storm. Maybe she had been. No... she couldn't have. Riley slowly grew consciousness of the soft, wet sand she lay on, the ocean water lapping her feet. The smell of fresh air, the air after a storm mixed with salt. The ruffling of leaves, the sound of the surf and seagulls calmed her. The gentle glow of the sun shown through her closed eyes, warming her in a comforting way. She could feel herself smile, and run her hands and feet through the wet sand.

However, she hesitated. As she slowly opened her eyes, she remembered everything. It wasn't the worst night of her life, no that was when she lost her voice. It was a very, very close second. She had lost everything before, but now she literally didn't have anything. Her clothes, her guitar, everything. She even almost lost her life. She sighed and brought her knees to her chest, then wrapped her arms around her legs and bent her head to rest on her knees. She felt like breaking down and crying. She had nothing, and it was depressing to think she was all alone in a foreign place with foreign things.

No.. she wasn't alone. What happened to her rescuers? She owed the boy her life, and probably much more. But she was to depressed to move and explore to find people and food. Even as her stomach contracted at the thought of food, she couldn't move. Her body hurt, her head hurt and her heart hurt. She was broken, and the ocean in front of her couldn't heal it. Not after what it did to her the night before... if it had been the night before. How long had she been out? What happened to the others? What would happen to her?

'Shut up!' She thought and groaned. She decided to block her ambitious thoughts and chill for a bit. She didn't know when she would be able to again.

((I dont cut, like regularly, I cut my wrist in an attempt to.. well you already know why, I'll text you when i get my new phone, my old one broke :/ ))

Eric managed to push himself up to his feet, it was quite an effort as he could feel his body aching quite bad, probably from being tossed around roughly in the water before washing up on this strange island. He was glad that he was on land, but he thought it kind of cliche, a plane crash and then washing up on a seemingly deserted island. He stood there, unsure what to do, then he spotted something floating in the water a few meters in front of him, he ran towards it, wading through the water with some effort.

He reached the object as the cold ocean water nearly reached his shoulders. It was a suitcase, a very large suitcase. Definitely not his own. He grabbed hold of it wet leather handle and slowly pulled it back to the shore, He doubted there would be anything still useable in it. But he had nothing, nothing to survive with, gather food, make a fire with.

He dragged the suitcase up the sand, to where the vast jungle started, it became immediately dark and hard to see, as he looked into the jungle. It didn't look very friendly, or safe for that matter. He quickly unzipped the suitcase to a thick layer of wet clothes, He used his hands to scoop them all up at once and threw them down on the sand next the suitcase. Under the layer of clothes were some wet books, a toothbrush and a pair of ice skates.

Riley must have fallen asleep curled up on the beach. She opened her eyes, and the rain had seemed to completely stop, and the sun was slowly setting below the horizon. Riley frowned, and groaned. She was running out of daylight, and needed to find shelter and food soon before she died of starvation. As if that's the way she'd die. How original (sarcastic).

With difficulty, Riley managed to stand and properly survey her surroundings. How cliché could this be? She was stranded on an island with dense jungle overflowing the island, with beach stretching out to the East and West. No way in Hell was Riley about to trek through that foreign, seemingly dangerous jungle. Riley couldn't even yell for help for fear of drawing unwanted attention, and because, of course her voice was busted. So much for surviving the old fashion way. Could the boy, Captain and Couple have survived, or even washed up on the same island? Hopefully... Riley didn't know what she would do alone on a deserted island.

Yes, Riley didn't mind being alone. But one fear she's always had was the fear of the unknown. This island reflected this fear, and rendered Riley useless. Typical female, in desperate need of saviour. Cliché and non original. Great (sarcastic). Now what?

Riley slightly jumped as a large round brown rock thing fell just inches from hitting Riley's head. She frowned, and inspected the element. To her delight, it was Coconut. She smiled, and looked up at the palm trees surrounding the edge of the jungle line to the beach and almost jumped for joy over all the coconuts littering the ground, and still have yet to fall that were green and in Riley's mind, beautiful. FOOD! Now... how to open this thing?

Just then, out of the corner of Riley's eye, she thought she saw a large yellow blur. As she turned around, she heard the sound of rubber hitting rocks. Also to Riley's surprise, the yellow life raft in which the boy had saved her from the threatening waves of the ocean was washed up on the beach, being pushed against large ocean rocks just off the beach. Quickly Riley jumped in the water to save the raft, for which Riley definitely thought she would need.

After saving the raft, she let it rest on the ground just off the jungle edge, and set to collect as many coconuts as possible. She still hasn't figured out how to open them without a weapon, but she'll manage. Hopefully before the sun sets. She wasn't ready to encounter the demons of the night of this island. Luckily she was wearing denim somewhat ripped black shorts and a ripped black t shirt and her black sweater was ripped to shreds.

Riley groaned in aggravation and annoyance. She really liked this outfit. However, she couldn't find her shoes or socks anywhere. Barefoot it is.

Now... Riley stared at the life raft and coconuts. Palm tree leaves and
dead dried up leaf shells also littered the sandy ground. As Riley looked from the Palm shells to the raft, she suddenly grasped an idea to use the raft as a shelter of sorts, and use her ripped sweater as a blanket to sleep on the raft, then use the palm shells to stick in the ground around the raft in a security barrier. However, if she needed to escape, it would be hard. Oh well. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. Understandably, she was probably the only one on the island. Maybe a few animals here and there.... That didn't satisfy her either.

As the sun continued to set, it got darker and darker. Fire! She forgot about fire. She wasn't necessarily cold, considering the hot sun had dried her earlier, and only her legs were wet from retrieving the life raft. But the sand she was coated in kept her reasonably water resistant. Maybe fire was a bad idea. The smoke would draw attention to herself. She didn't want unwanted attention, not without a weapon.

Riley was alone, and didn't know what to do. Therefore she started to work on creating her shelter. After she was done (after about 20 minutes) she shoved off her sweater and laid in the reasonably dry raft, using her sweater as a blanket. Riley wasn't tired, not really. The unknown demons of the night still haunted her, and with the absence of her voice, no one would come to save her.

With the last remaining light, she watched the sun set and daydreamed of an alternate reality where she safely made it to Beijing, fixed her throat and voice, and continued her career in music. Oh how she missed her guitar.
