For two thousand years, the country of Barduria has prospered. The beginnings of the nation were humble, deep in the western, green valleys of Ertha. They were merely tribes but over months, years, they became smarter then the other tribes. They had steel swords, crossbows, catapults. They quickly expanded and conquered, building a great kingdom and eventually an empire, reaching from the lively ripe homelands to the ancient beautiful northlands.
However, this success had its problems. As the population and territory increased, so did the crime and unrest. Soon revolts, riots, organized crime took to the streets. No matter how harsh the laws were, the traitors became harsher.
After the discovery of a land east to Barduria, half the size of Australia, Emperor Nerova passed a law known as "The Law of Carus." The law states that:
"He or she that is a traitor, commits a crime, and is a disgrace to the dynasty and its citizens have no place in Barduria, and they shall be banished to the island of Carus, where those who shall enter will ultimately never leave; in the name of Justice. May the Gods forgive their souls when they die, but we do not forgive them."
You are a prisoner who has been arrested by the guards back in Barduria. Whether you're a runaway slave, a petty thief, a murderer or a rebel soldier, this is your new home. Carus. A lawless land filled with wild animals, magical beasts, bitter snow, dry deserts, spooky swamps and vagabonds.

(So basically if you're too stupid to understand or you're too lazy to read, the story is about you, a prisoner who has been accused of a crime and shipped to Carus, an island with no laws, no order. You are given a few basic things such as daggers and swords to defend yourself, but you can never escape. The minimum age of prisoners are 13. Women are no exception. Once a week a ship brings 25 new prisoners to the island. You are one of them. Magic is allowed. No. There are no elves or orcs or anything. Just humans.)
