Love is Love. No matter what sex.
Come on come on! Where's a damn tree when you need one?! These thoughts ran through Aviana's mind as she looked around frantically just as she was attacked from behind. Everything after that was a complete blur. She was fighting one minute and it seemed the next, she was on her stomach with her arms bound behind her back. She pulled as hard as she could to get her arms free but with no such luck. She couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen to her. She would prefer not to die but she wasnt scared of it and obviously if they wanted to kill her, they would have already. "Bastards you'll all pay for this!" She screamed as she thrashed around furiously.

“I very much doubt it, girl.”

The deep baritone voice was not the voice of the vampire that the foolish young woman had chosen to fight that night. It came from a man who looked, and most definitely was, older. The patriarch of the Windsor family walked into the street, and gave a nod to the woman who had bound the vampire tightly. “Thank you,” he said.

The woman stood and placed a heel on the back of the bound one. “Of course,” the smirk could be heard in her voice. “’Tis a good thing we got here before Michael could kill her.”

Markos gave an agreeing nod, though Mairenn’s eyes were fixed on Michael.

Michael Windsor, the dark-haired vampire, looked down. He understood the red-headed woman’s gaze, and what it meant. They would be talking later. She must have understood why he had hesitated in the fight, why he had backed out. ‘How long were you watching?’ Michael wondered, but didn’t ask. He hadn’t even known the two were nearby.

Mairenn lifted her heel, and then reached down to pull up the protesting woman. “Hush,” she suggested, “You are lucky I am letting you live,” Mairenn noted, “And may even continue to do so, if it turns out you are beloved by your clan, Avianna.”

Mairenn and Avianna had never met before, but Mairenn knew her. Mairenn made it a point to know all those of Avianna’s family, because they tried to usurp the power that she and her father had amassed over the years. They were nothing but trouble, and that day, they had thought to target the youngest.

How very foolish of them. “Who is it I should contact, dear?”

Aviana stifled a pained sound as she felt a heel in her back. She listened closely and clenched her jaw tightly just as she was pulled up. Looking down at her black skinny jeans and her purple and black halter top, she frowned and glanced up at the red-haired girl. "You messed up my clothes," she said with venom in her voice. "Now if you don't mind, you can take your unearned power and shove it straight up your~" She was cut off by an ear piercing scream that seemed to form her name.

"Aviana! I don't care what you have to do, take their power away from the core!" An older woman called with a certain vengence in her voice. "Plan on it," she said, being sure not to give away any names.

Turning to the older man, Avi narrowed her eyes and smirked slightly. She didn't hesitate to spat in his face before jerking her arm away, knowing that she could use this opportunity to get to the source of the power. So, with one last glance at her family - beaten and battered - she began walking. "Don't touch me," she said coldly, fixing her icy mint green stare ahead of her.

The fact the others were fleeing was satisfaction enough for Markos, who tilted his head up with a smug smirk on his lips. He knew he could have pursued and killed them all, but this was a far better sight…watching them go away with their tail between their legs, leaving behind family. He wasn’t even bothered by the spit. He calmly wiped it away, amused with the woman’s attempt to upset him. “It seems your family does not love you.”

He’d never do that. Countless times, he and Mairenn had risked their necks for the other, and now, for Valence. He would soon understand the bond of blood they shared, and how no one had any rights to stand up against them. It would be better for all vampires if they listened to those who had experience and long lives.

But there would always be the defiant ones.

Mairenn still had her moments. Just as soon as the woman shook off the hold and tried to walk ahead, Mairenn caught up with her and reached for the bound hands again. She would wrench the woman back if successful, but either way she would say. “Sorry, dear,” Mairenn wasn’t apologetic at all. “I don’t listen to you.” And she would try to keep a hand on the woman.

Michael glanced to her. “I really do not think it is necessary. I—”

“Your opinion is unwanted, Michael. Go get the car.”

And Michael obeyed, though it was clear he was not happy to do so. He ran off to fetch the vehicle and pull it around so that they could all get out of there quicker, and with less of a chance for their hostage to escape.

Aviana ignored the comment and rolled her eyes silently. The moment the other girl touched her again, she jerked away, turning around and kicking her in the gut as hard as she could. "Don't touch me!" She yelled again and kept walking. "If you wanted to kill me you would have already and I can't get far with my hands behind my back so dont touch me," she spat coldly as she walked faster, making no attempt to escape.

Wen she saw the car, Aviana took it upon herself to turn around and open the back door, sliding in without a word. She stared out the window silently as she tried her best to get her hair out of her face, knowing her family wouldn't give up that easy. She allowed her thoughts to wander, occasionally glancing up at the man driving, silently wondering why he hadn't hardly participated in the battle. Shaking her mind from it, Avi sighed in slight annoyance as she closed her eyes and leaned her head back.
