Campaign Starter; Fair Trade?

(re)Starting a monthly campaign, and I'm going to try and lead a lost band of Just-Off-The-Exaltation solars into a location with the following;

*A valley with a choke point on the north east and south west,

*river flowing from each valley entrance

*Two human settlements in conflict (followers of a river god and followers of a forest god who are acting out the old feud between the two small gods).

*A band of Goblins and wyld mutants who are prowling the valley and attacking anything they think they can beat.

*What could have been an ancient military cache, but was never properly stocked / items in disrepair, buried under the surface. (nothing huge in here, but I'm thinking of taking a lesson from the local comic and leaving a broken Transport in there somewhere.

*A low level wood manse (owned by the "wood" people).

Assuming the pc's can fix what's wrong with their resources (unite the people, beat back / kill the fairies, unlock the gates in the armory, acquire access to the manse, arm the choke points), I think they'd have a huge start for a monthly campaign. But, do these problems sound like too much or too little?

The player group (More specifically, 2 ninja night castes, a twilight crafts master, a river pirate eclipse, and a new person who hasn't rolled up a character yet (expecting a Dawn or a Dragon blooded).) voted 2/5 for a game that has problems that can't always be fixed with combat, they're all solars who are new to the game, and they already have some artifacts (oddly, everyone took an artifact weapon, even though they voted for diplomacy encounters). After the area becomes sorted out, there's room for more spirit based encounters, fair folk troubles, and as little "exalted villian of the week" as I can manage (trying to make any exalt they see seem Rare).

And I'm loving the extended color options here.

It's a very nice start, IMHO.

Just a suggestion: take into account the fact that they are a circle of Solars. They will probably handle the situation with both hands tied in their back, using only their nails as weapons. Don't be afraid of throwing more difficult situations for them to handle in the future. It's ok, even good to start from the bottom, but you certainly could put an Abyssal or a few Immaculate Monks in the situation in the future.
