? ; camp is located on a segregated island in alaska, u.s.a. that is hidden from mankind through a glimmer
? ; the camp was originally introduced as a formality to encourage friendly bonds between those of other realms and as a safe-haven/safety precaution to make sure no demigods have mysteriously disappeared over the summer
? ; the camp runs over the winter, celebrating yule (the winter solstice) and other norse festivities. there are many activities which encourage socialisation and skill building for all those who attend e.g. archery, blacksmithing, sparring, team building and other training.

OTHER INFO
? hermod: when calling upon the name of this god, he will appear and help send messages back and forth from camp and to the outside world. saying "hem-ring" and whispering his name would most likely evoke the god. ( mostly called | summoned by skadi )
? rataskor: a squirrel who helps in sending messages to the outside world where another being will take the letter and mail | send it off ( mostly called | summoned by skadi and sometimes campers to pass messages during camp activities if it calls for secrecy ). rataskor is used for secret messages due to the animal's small size.
? dory: not only the mascot and transportation, but both brynn and dory ( caretaker of camp ) are in charge of sending off letters and receiving mail if campers want to send off any letters to a loved one outside of camp. sometimes they will receive news of the outside world.
note: cell lines do not exist at camp. phones do not work. there's a bare minimum of electrical usage, however, there are power generators and such. nevertheless, the camp is lit up by lanterns, candles, etc.
? ; Elves vs. Humans - In Norse Mythology, the Alfars [ Elves ] were considered both good and bad and were separated between Ljósálfar [ light elves, the 'good' ones ] and Dökkálfar [ dark elves, the 'bad' ones ]. Ljósálfar's lived above ground or in Álfheimr ( one of the nine realms ) while the Dökkálfar lived below grounds, much like dwarves. The Light Elves' appearance are considered more beautiful, slim, tall creatures with pale skin and hair while the Dark Elves have a darker complexion though still beautiful and slim. In relations to humans, both Elves are considered alluring and mesmerising to gaze upon. As for stature, the Elves would be slightly taller than an average human so most female Elves would be around 5'8 and most male Elves would be around 6'0. All the Elves do have the classic pointed ears (which is very cute) so they do have the classic Tolkein-esque features! Some Elves were considered gender fluid and some did not adhere to sexual roles.
At Camp, there are Elves who stay on the island with Skadi. The Elves there are teachers who can provide lessons in healing, archery, and the use of one's senses to listen, smell, touch, and taste their surroundings. Great survival instinct tools.
? ; Dwarves vs. Humans - The dwarves are much shorter on an average of 4'6 in height. The dwarves will definitely have varying sizes and weight, but the majority of male dwarves will have a stocky build, long facial hair, and brute strength. We imagine them to be the dwarves you see in Tolkein's world. The dwarves live in Svartalfheim ( one of the nine realms ) which is underground and may sometimes be known as Niðavellir. The appearance of the underground resembles Moira in LOTR since Tolkein branched off of Norse Mythology in some aspects in his writing.
At Camp, the dwarves who stay on the island with Skadi are usually blacksmiths and craftsmen who provides armory, weapons, and such for the campers and are sometimes even teachers.
:whale: ; Relations - The personality of the Elves and Dwarves are most definitely similar to that of what Tolkein has written to what we imagine. The Dwarves are much more prone to getting into trouble and are eager to get more involved in the brute and scheming of things ( not afraid to get down and dirty and quite crude ) while the Elves are much more prone to least likely getting involved with mortals and others.
Outside of Camp, I imagine this is how the relations is between Elves and Dwarves. They may respect each other's crafts, but they still have this big rivalry (sometimes hostility between each other ) and all of that. There may be huge disputes and disagreements between the two races, but the Camp will help in bringing more harmony among the two.
Inside of camp, I imagine there's a much more civilised unity within. There may be some who may not like the compliance of being in the same company of others but, they still have to strictly adhere to being civil with each other as they are learning about each other's culture and learning to get along with one another.
?; Language and Dialect - Elves ad Dwarves do have their own language and dialects!
? ; Psychologically - All of them ( elves, giants, dwarves, humans ) eat the same nutrients and they can all be affected by the same if not similar diseases. Although some of the ailments may be different, they are still able to be affected all the same. The elves, dwarves, humans, and giants may have different ways to treat the diseases and ailments.
ELVEN MAGIC
? ; the light elves are able to cause human illnesses, but they are also able to heal humans. they have "sorcery" most similar to say a sorceror such as spells and such. at the same time the light elves built a magic ship called: Skidbladnir’ possessing several amazing attributes such as sailing at sea, traveling across land, and flying in the air to reach a certain destination.
? ; the dark elves were enemies of the sun’s beams of light that turn them instantly to stone. so they thrived in the underground (much like the dwarves), surrounded by darkness and appeared only at night. they usually caused chaos with disturbing nightmares and annoyed animals, particularly horses.
note: there are times these dark elves are called "dwarves" because of their mischievous nature and need to be underground in Svartalfheim with the actual dwarves. (( there are some dark elves who resemble human corpses )). also, there is magic containing in "stones" or even "gems" for dark elves to "appear" in the sun's light
? ; light elves and dwarves (plus dark elves) still do not "mix" well because of these natures.
[ ? ] Elves:
Long ago, when Freyr the god of sunshine, rain, light, peace, and fertility ruled the Ljósálfars ( light elves ) , there were 4 Elven Brothers who were blessed with magic also known as sorcery. The 4 Brothers received different areas of land in Alfheim, seperated by North, West, East, and South. The Eldest brother of the Four reigned the North, bringing the practice and skills of light sorcery which included magical barriers and protection. The Second brother of the Four reigned the West, bringing the practices and skills of healing through enchantments and spells, sometimes different herbs. They could cure or bring about illnesses. The Third brother of the Four reigned the East, bringing practices and skills of earth sorcery as all of the enchantments and spells are earth-based magic. If they did not choose magic, most became hunters or warriors of the such. And lastly, a tricky one the Fourth and youngest brother was given the Southern areas of Alfheim, being involved in educating and teaching about constellations and stars and the culture of Elves.
Everything was at peace in Alfheim, except, one day, the Fourth Brother was found practicing dark arts and magic that caused him to be banished from the realm. The Fourth brother was hoping to revive his dead wife as Elves can only love once in their lifetime. When word spreaded of Fourth brother's dark magic in necromancy and twiddling with other dark arts such as fortune-telling and shadows, the magic threatened to plague all that was pure in Alfheim. In the end, to cast off the darkened magic, the Fourth brother was cursed by his family ( His Three Older Brothers and Mother plus Father ) and casted out of Alfheim and sent underground. The gods did not help Fourth Brother no matter how much he pleaded with them.
Due to the Fourth Brother's misguidance and treachery, those who wanted to follow the Fourth Brother were welcomed to, but for those who did not want to follow him into the darkness were allowed to stay in Alfheim. In the end, the Fourth Brother found a place in Svartalfheim with the dwarves. Those who followed Fourth Brother became the Dökkálfars ( dark elves ). Most of those who were under Fourth Brother came with him, never leaving his side and slowly their numbers grew in Svartalfheim. But, not only did their numbers grow underground, but so did their hatred and disgust against the Ljosalfars.
Ever since the betrayal and time passed, it was forbidden to ever speak of the Fourth Brother. Only the history of the 3 Brothers and their Parents lived on, forgetting the Fourth Brother ever existed. So now, only [ 3 ] Houses exist in the Land. The North, The West, and the East. The family line continued and those who were descendants of the 3 Brothers were considered nobility, royals, even. They were well-loved. ( The same could be said of the Fourth Brother and his followers in Svartlfheim ).
Note: The Brothers, The Parents, and the Names of the "Houses"/"Lands" do not have names yet and will be given as soon as possible.
P.S. Because the [3] Brothers sort of erased their 4th Brother from history, I imagine the Light Elves now have no recollection or idea that the Dark Elves are actually brethens to them and used to live in Alfheim with them too [ or they are just forbidden to speak about it still for those who are still around ]. So the Light Elves were just taught to see the Dark Elves as "evil" beings who can never touch the sun or be pure without their "handicap" item. Oof
[ ? ] Dwarves
The Dwarves have lived in Svartalfheim for eternity. They are ruled by [ one ] King. At the King's side, there are different positions that are considered the King's council members. There are noble houses that are associated with each of the council members of his court. There are [ 3 ] classification of dwarves : upper class, middle class, and lower class. The lower class have the trade of mining such as coal, ores, stones, and gems. They are able to make jewelry as a result. The middle class have the trade of blacksmiths such as being able to make armors, weapons, and other products needed through fire and etc. Lastly, the upper classes are great at business transcations. The upper class will be able to be tutored in different crafts such as jewelry making or even being a craftsmen. They have more leniency into doing what they want to do while the lower and middle classmen have specific trades they're frankly good at.
The Dokkalfars and the dwarves have good standing with each other. The Dokkalfars are considered the dwarves' "sorceresses" while the dwarves are considered the Dokkalfars' business ally. Both parties have a deal with each other. If the dwarves helped the Dokkalfars get back to Alfheim and get their revenge of the Ljosalfars then in return, the Dokkalfars will cast magic for the dwarves. In the end, different maps , similar to a Maureder's Map, has been made for the Dwarven kingdom to hide their secrecy such as their gold and different passageways of the kingdom. On the other hand, a gem / stone has been made for the Dokkalfars to step into the light once more. However, passage for Dokkalfars to get back into Alfheim has not been successful.
Note: Imagine the parties these two have is absolutely crazy down in Svartalfheim ! For those who do not know much about dwarves and Dokkalfars, to the outside world, they are considered one and the same, but that is not quite true! I can imagine a lot of prejudice and hate festering with the Dark Elves, Dwarves vs. Light Elves. The Light Elves know much but do not try to dissuade people's opinions of dwarves and Dark Elves. Will there be a war? Who knows, but that is why Camp Winterian Wyrd has also been made, to learn from one another and realise there's more to the story than just surface level!
P.S. Names for the King and the kingdom has yet to be determined.
[ ? ] Giants
The Giants have lived in Jotunheim for eternity. They are much more separated and secluded from the other realms, preferring to stick to their own kind. There are some symbolic Jotuns such as Skadi and Loki who have had relationships with the Gods/Goddesses, but most of them stick to themselves. They prefer to stray from the Elves, dwarves, and especially humans, not trusting in them at all through stories and past grievances. The Giants live by tribes and are ruled by their chieftain. But, regardless of the different tribes, the Giants are peaceful creatures, staying in unity and solidarity with each other. They do not have magic, however, they were blessed with superhuman strength. The Giants are harmless unless provoked, especially stealing or invading their lands. They will not hesitate to struck others down.
At Camp, the Giants are the ones protecting invaders from coming in, especially monsters and beast alike that may harm the campers. Wyverns, krakens, loch ness, and etc. are very real creatures that can harm.

we have decided to go with something different in regards to cabin division! the cabin listings are as follows:
(( demigods have four cabins [ will add more when the time comes, but for now, other god/goddesses who don't have a cabin, the dwarves at camp would make statues in their name] ; and the elves, giants, and dwarves have one ))
The Demigod cabins are unique in terms of being temperature regulated as the cabins have an "open" concept. The back of the cabin is doorless which allows air to freely move in and out of the cabin allowing for breezes to come in. However, during snowy, winter nights and days, the cabins are protected by magic as an invisible "wall" or "globe" surrounds the cabin to keep the cold out but the demigods can still enjoy seeing a first-hand view of nature without an obstacle of a door. Also, for each "room" for each demigod, doors aren't used as privacy, instead wool, silk, or any type of curtain or drape is used to cover one's bedding area ( as seen in the third photo ) with a lounging area. Boys and girls section are separated in the cabins. The right side of the cabin are for the girls while the left side of the cabin are for the boys. There is a common room inside the cabin to meet up as seen in the middle photo before leaving the cabin. Last but not least, in the first photo, it shows the cabin's entrance and the outside area where demigods can hang out.
note: there should be at least one counselor per cabin , currently Yarrow
, Unrlstic
, and Chione
are counselors. if your character wants to be a counsellor let us know, if not they'll be NPCs
The Elves, Dwarves, and Giants live in their own singular cabin. The cabin accommodates towards each race. The lower ground area are for the dwarves ( including the dark elves ) , the middle ground area are for the giants, and the top area are for the elves. Their cabin is surrounded by trees and green on both side as shown in the photos. The photos are self explanatory with the middle photo being the middle ground for the giants, the upstairs area as shown in the first photo are for the elves, and lastly the last photo is for the dwarves ( quite cozy ).
