As Roderick finished his answer, she smiled and hoped the cover of night would hide her slightly reddened cheeks. She ate another bite of stew and was about to say something when she was interrupted by a slight rustle in the distance. It was near the southern tree line where the human eye couldn't see more than past the first two trees. She stood up fumbling for her sword and almost falling directly into Roderick's lap. She was hoping he didn't notice her clumsiness.
It could have just been her companions returning, she tried to reassure herself. It didn't quite sound like human foot steps, but Asbjorn was an unusually large man. She tried to calm herself and steady her hands, she gripped her sword tightly. Her stance strong, her eyes piercing into the night. She never received the best marks in school for her sword skills, but never the worst. She looked over to Roderick for comfort briefly, before slowly moving toward the dark tree line.
