House Cainhurst are a family of powerful Necromancers and Dark Mages that rule the northern lands of Aether - a feared land known as Hollowvale.
From the formidable ancient fortress of Blackrock Castle, the Cainhursts have ruled with an Iron Fist over the surrounding cities for a hundred years. With an army of Undead at their command, it has been a relatively prosperous and peaceful era for those who have submitted to Cainhurst rule.
But all is not well in the Land of the Dead.
Lord Ulfric Cainhurst grip on sanity is slowly fading. The most powerful Necromancer in ten generations, there are none who yet dare stand against him despite his advanced age and paranoia.
His orders are becoming crueler and the inhabitants of Blackrock castle live in fear of his increasingly erratic nature, with servants and loyal supporters alike finding themselves accused of treachery and imprisoned without trial.
Rumors of rebellion whisper the isolated land, and war looms on the horizon with enemies both outside the borders and within.
But you are a Child of Cainhurst.
Trained from childhood in the ways of Dark Magic and subterfuge, you have so far survived the backstabbing and machinations of Court.
But with your mad fathers eyes ever watching, will you allow everything that the Cainhursts have built crumble into dust?

INTRODUCTION
Hello there! I return to RPnation after almost two years away with a rerun of a favorite RP concept of mine that was rather popular - CAINHURST is a character led role play that follows the stories of the Cainhurst siblings and other inhabitants of Blackrock.
n depth lore is already in place to ease you into the world, and will be a fairly small scale affair - focusing on the sort of drama one might expect living with a bunch of Dark Mages, Necromancers and Undead servants. There will be a vague overarching plot, but Ideas where the story should go are welcomed, and player interaction is actively encouraged.
In terms of roles, the Cainhurst children are the main roles available with only the eldest sister role being unavailable.
If you'd like to play as one of the younger children, still learning the ways of Dark Magic - that's A-OK. If you'd rather play as one of the older siblings, fully versed in the ways of darkness and political wisdom - that's great too! A zombie obsessed maniac? A expert of arcane sword craft? A Dark Healer? A more politically focused character working at court to delay Ulfric's madder orders? The only vague rule is that all the siblings are rather close, and work together to survive their fathers madness.
Other roles are also available, if you'd rather play as one of the servants of Blackrock (Not the easiest life), a guard, or anyone else you think might think would be an interesting addition to the cast.
More lore will be forthcoming to assist with character drafting, but I'm hoping this will be a fairly fun little RP.

Considered to be children blessed by the madness of Dark Blood, Ulfric's children are all quite extraordinary - as to be expected from those born from the Dark Lord. Born into a world of manipulation, dark magic and paranoia it is somewhat amazing that any of them have survived at all. Each is constantly probed and tested for signs of weakness by their Father, who is determined to forge a new Bloodline that will cement his dynasty over Hollowvale - none of the children have been brought up with any parental kindness or warmth, perhaps save from overly familiar servants and each other. Ulfric has sired over two dozen children during his reign, but only four now remain - considered to be the most resourceful, deadly and intelligent of his line.
The eldest sister is called Severa, and is widely known for both her beauty and her questionable grip on reality. Some fear her just as much as her Father.

The elite combat mages of Hollowvale, the Bloodguard are recognized throughout the Land of the Dead for their opulently lavish robes of deep crimson and their unflappable attitude to all that dare stand against them. Trained from a young age in the traditional dark arts and combat skills of their Cainhurst masters, the Bloodguard boast versatility not only as mages excelling at Necromancy and elemental magicks, but as masters of the blade. While perhaps lacking the raw physical strength of the warriors of other nations, the Bloodguard make up for it with versatility. They are the pride of Hollowvale's military and a example of what Blackrock can offer children with magical ability. The mindless Undead can be a powerful foe, but an Undead army with a squad of Bloodguard is a fearsome thing indeed.
To be a Bloodguard is to be acknowledged as the best, and the right to be a part of their order is hotly contested amongst the trainees and guards who frequently compete to be a part of them. The Bloodguard take their role seriously - with some even going on to become trusted agents of a single Cainhurst child, or even Ulfric himself. Defeat means Death, and To show fear means you can expect to be cut down by your fellow Bloodguard without hesitation or mercy.
Not to mention, they're awfully stylish.
