↬ it wasn't until after the bombings that he trekked his way into the bigger cities, surviving up until now.

↬ a cat that has somehow, someway, managed to survive the war and the bombings literally just follows this dude around.
↬ he couldn't get rid of it at first, but I mean the company's sorta nice, so whatev.

EXPERIENCE not that impressive, to be honest. i've been rping for almost four years now on various different platforms.

NAME vladilen everett kaustinen.
TYPE enhanced.

[ .: ] doesn't remember much about his time during captivity, less because of his age and more because he's forcibly disassociated from it. spent seven years being used as a lab rat (from age 5 to age 12) before being freed.
[ .: ] the scientists focused on attempting to enhance his strength, through experimenting on his muscles to his bones and even various neurotransmitters/hormones.
[ .: ] it was, admittedly, quite hit-and-miss, which didn't bother the scientists but resulted in excruciating pain for him. finally, when he was nine, they reached a breakthrough.
[ .: ] never one to take something lying down, much less when he had the power of enhanced strength on his side, he rebelled again and again, often almost succeeding but never quite getting there. needless to say, the scientists quickly learned that he needed to either be sedated or heavily restrained.
[ .: ] doesn't know what happened to the lab he was in because, the moment he was freed, he ran and never looked back.
[ .: ] even someone as confrontational as he was knew when to lay low, and so that was exactly what he did during most of the war. even when the lure of more populated areas called out to him, all it took was to remember what he was put through for the better part of his life, and he was deterred from attempting to find a group.
[ .: ] fended for himself for so long that he's long since settled into the 'lone wolf' mindset: every man for himself, it's a dog-eat-dog world. now, it'll be a struggle getting him to cooperate with anyone.
[ .: ] remembers having an older sister and he's tried to find her, but no luck. he doesn't even know if she's alive.

[ .: ] little to no impulse control oops.
[ .: ] a very proud person besides. his pride is what little he has left.
[ .: ] very solitary and (understandably) wary of those who try to talk to him. constantly expecting people to have an ulterior motive. he's distrusting of people and it takes him a while to warm up to them.
[ .: ] aggressive and hostile. his first instinct is to lash out, or otherwise scare people off before they can hurt him. hates the feeling of being defenseless like he was in the lab, and he's promised himself that he'll never let himself feel like that again.
[ .: ] extremely honest, which can be a good thing, but he borders constantly on being blunt and tactless. a little awkward in social situations, but hey, who can blame him?
[ .: ] surprisingly not a bad person underneath all that. yes, he's constantly got his hackles raised, but he'll never kick someone when they're down or stab you in the back. extremely genuine and trustworthy. the kind of person who cares but does so in a very gruff way.
[ .: ] hates needles and the feeling of being restrained. either will probably send him into a panicked frenzy.
[ .: ] still has night terrors from his time in the lab.

[ .: ] she grew up in a ward, of sorts. a more blunt term would be orphanage, but she only had the most loving and affectionate memories of her time there. there were only five other kids, and none of them were ever neglected.
[ .: ] when the caretakers and the rest of the ward went into hiding, she slipped easily into the role of the mom friend, a mantle she's kept even now.
[ .: ] they made a habit out of moving around constantly and never staying in one place for too long.
[ .: ] she and two others were scavenging for supplies when a misplaced bomb struck their current shelter. they dropped everything and ran, but it was too late. there was no one alive underneath the rubble.
[ .: ] that incident only cemented her as the matron of the group, but it was so much more difficult when there was no one to share the burden with.
[ .: ] of the trio, one of them later died from an infected wound that she didn't have the proper materials to treat. they died in her arms and the guilt has stayed with her since.
[ .: ] eventually, near the end of the war, she and the one who was left agreed to part ways. the other was an excellent hunter and combatant and she knew that, in the case of conflict, she'd only be dragging them down, but it'd be a lie to say that it was a totally selfless decision. she didn't want the burden of another death on her conscience.

[ .: ] will probably never give you a straight answer on whether her hair color is natural or not.
[ .: ] probably wants to adopt you.
[ .: ] has a knack for noticing things that other people don't and managing to find either food or other supplies where someone could've sworn there was nothing.
[ .: ] very gentle but not a pushover.
[ .: ] reasonable and level-headed. she manages to keep her calm even in situations where everyone else is panicking.

Gil was 20 when he decided he wanted to join the army, seeing what was going on in the world. When he went for his physical he found out he was partially deaf in his right ear, preventing him from joining. Upset, he dealt with it and moved on until the beginning of the war 4 years later. After the end of the war, he survived throughout the shitstorm. The past 10 years have cost Gil a lot. His girlfriend from before the nukes. His wife of 2 years he met on his journey. Their 6 month old daughter at the same time thanks to that groups of fucking punks. The six of them held Gil and the rest at gunpoint and just slaughter several people for no reason. Other family and friends have perished along the way and now Gil is alone. He is seeking revenge for the six that killed his wife and daughter and is seeking to avenge those who have fallen to the evil hands of the weak in this world.
