Hello, and welcome to Camp Lake Lodge, here we provide services for children who are... quite challenging, troubled, even. For the entire summer, we will take your child off your hands and reform them into functioning members of society. When you pick them up at the end of the summer, you’ll barely recognize them.

Here at Camp Lake Lodge, we pride ourselves on our strict disciplinary actions as students are expected to follow the rules, no matter who they happen to be. Failure to follow said rules or orders given by the camp personnel will result in punishment based on the severity of the crime at hand. Stealing something from a fellow camper will result in kitchen duty, while fighting another camper or member of the camp will result in infinite solidarity, where campers will have adequate time to consider what they have done and how they may make their mistakes right once more.

We believe that all children should have a chance at rehabilitation from a life of hardships and troubles. It is for this reason, the camp has decided to accept students of all genders (i.e: male, female, trans, asexual, etc) within our walls. We are aware of the concern this raises among parents and guardians, but rest assured, we will be closely monitoring campers at all times and shenanigans will not be tolerated. Students caught breaking these rules will be properly dealt with in a timely manner.

It is our pleasure to open our gates to the public once more, and to do whatever we can to help make today’s youth tomorrow’s success story. A camp designed to “rehabilitate” troubled youth. Sounds fun, eh?

Wrong. At Camp Lake Lodge, children from all walks of life from each state in the U.S. are brought together for three months of sheer torture. The camp is nothing compared to how it is advertised to parents, and no amount of letters sent home or complaints filed about maltreatment, there is never enough to have the place properly investigated. Instead, it is up to a small group of campers to band together and survive the camp of nightmares. What does this entail? Oh, I’m glad you asked.

Most days, exclusive to the short weekends, camper are expected and required to go to specific classes, as if in school. Between classes is a designated time where students can mingle and get to know one another. At this time, many students devise plans to push the rules to the limit, or better yet, how to escape this hell hole.

How far will they go before they are caught? Repeat offenders have plenty of experience with this place. They know the ropes, the rule of the roost, they know the ins and outs of the entire camp. They are the ultimate troublemakers, the exact type your parents had warned you against.

HISTORY

Born of a family of scientists, in the city of Portland, Maine, Absinthe grew up a rather obedient child, following her families’ rules. She was an intelligent girl, and often received the best of grades. As she entered grade four, she was often teased by her peers for what she looked like at the time, as she was considered to be overly above her weight range at the time. She was insulted for her higher intelligence, and was often bullied by a majority of the students in her school. Absinthe, at the ripe age of ten, had then developed habits to push past this abuse, to prove them wrong. Habits that involved overexposure to excerise, lack of eating, and sucidial thoughts. She would cry and cut herself in private when she felt as though she were useless, and was often to have mood swings due to lack of nutrition, the reason behind her dull personality. For the past seven years, she has been struggling to overcome this, though she may never. Her mother and father had tried everything to get her to eat, but in all the wrong ways. They yelled at her when she refused eat, telling told her she would die, telling her she was the reason she was anorexic, which caused her to feel guilt and turn toward what she once knew. One day, Absinthe’s parents received a letter from Camp Lake Lodge, informing them that their camp could fix their daughter. They applied almost immediately, failing to read the fine print. You’ll barely recognize them.

Backstrory

When Elouise was a little girl, she dreamed of aliens and faeries. She was a child of wonder. This caused a lot of bullying when she was younger, and it didn't help that both of her mothers are witches and own a shop in Pennsylvania. They made fun of her for being different. When she entered high school, she stopped showing any signs of oddity. She conformed to whatever trends there were and socialized more to people. Elouise became one of the popular kids and soon she met her boyfriend, a quarterback in their school's football team. They eventually hit it off and became the "it" couple. They both became the homecoming king and queen. Life was good. Until her boyfriend started acting differently, he didn't want her to go near on any guys including her guy friends, he became possessive of her and didn't want her to do most things she wanted. When they fight, it was usually Elouise who apologizes even though she wasn't the one who started it. He even slapped and punched her a couple times. When she broke up with him, things became worse. Her ex-boyfriend spread rumors about her cheating on him with an older man and also spread pictures of her naked. Elouise lost all of her friends and she lost herself too. She stopped going to school and locked herself in her room. She refused to eat for two days and didn't engage in any human interaction. She eventually dropped out and that's when her parents got really worried. Elouise wasn't the happy girl with bright eyes anymore. She seemed lifeless. The time came when her parents received a letter from Camp Lake Lodge promising to fix their daughter. They didn't even have a second thought and they immediately packed Elouise's belongings and sent her away.

Samantha, despite being skinny, hasn't got much stamina. This is mainly due to her asthma. She's, also, recovering from a fractured ankle. Her potential dust allergy can trigger her asthma, as well as intense sneezing fits.

History/ Backstory:

Samantha grew up in a rough household, with two older sisters. Their parents were hard-working, yet abusive towards her sisters. Samantha didn't get abused as much as her older sisters, mainly because they sheltered her and took most of it.

When her eldest sister got engaged and moved out, Samantha had been suspended from school due to a fight between her and a classmate. Around this time, Cameron had emerged into the frame. All of Cameron's eccentricities and actions added more fuel to the fire, Samantha getting diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder and getting a tirade of abuse from her parents for it.

After a heated argument with her father, Samantha hit him after he punished her for it. Her mother sent Samantha to the camp, otherwise her father would throw them both out onto the street.

HISTORY(BACKSTORY)
Morgan was born to Korean and Japanese parents that moved to America when he was still in his mother's belly. They were strict but loving parents but they had a rough time understanding and accepting how different Morgan was to what they were taught and what they were used to. He was a creative and sensitive soul, which in itself was opposed by social norms in most places. He asked tough questions ever since he was a child and not many could answer him. As he got older, he came out as gay, which was another thing they barely got used to but were trying, which counted to Morgan. They had more issues with his gender identity but since he wasn't something like, transgender, they just brushed it off. Morgan eventually started hanging out with some friends that were good people, but mixed with the wrong crowd. From that resulted in Morgan being heavily bullied which in turn worsened his depression, anxiety and almost caused him to die at some point, not from suicide but allowing himself to be bullied and not telling anyone. From which came his fear of large bodies of water. It got better over the years but Morgan began to smoke and sometimes even sneak a beer out and drink it. He began harder to handle, because he didn't want to talk to anyone and actively avoided any kind of confrontation as best he could. It made him very reclusive too, with no friends, only the occasional boyfriend his parents had no idea off, as his opinion of himself was at such a low that he had no standards. He likes to give people he meets the benefit of the doubt but so far it only caused him disappointment and depression even farther..

HISTORY(BACKSTORY)
Shawn was born to Millie Diaz-Medina and Alonzo Medina. They were both second-generation immigrants from Spain, something that the family takes a lot of pride in. Their heritage and the family that gave them, and their son, such great opportunities. If anything, his parents were most supportive of Shawn and anything he had to say to them. Sure, they taught him how to respect his elders, how to act in society, and at school. Which Shawn followed very strictly as a child; his life revolved around respect. He supposed the issues came in around the time he started school. Initially, he was bullied just for existing. No one had any true reason, other than the fact that he was what other kids considered the 'goody two-shoes'; he was so perfect, and quiet, and nice. Like he was always kissing the teacher's ass. It wasn't until the beginning of high school, when his family moved, that he had a new chance. A new beginning at a new school where no one knew him. Which made it easy to throw himself into a crowd of people that everyone liked. Even if they were bad influences. Well, at least not the best. But they were his friends and he had fun. His parents would happily disagree. He went from their amazing child to a bad apple. No matter how many times they confronted him, he only denied and lied. There was nothing they could do. Their son went out and smoked weed, at edibles, got drunk, stayed out at parties too late - and they weren't sure how to stop him when he continued to put on a normal, happy front. There was nothing they could do to see how wrong they were being. The thing was that Shawn's parents could hear their only child, their son, crying in his room at night. He would panic, but even then there was nothing they believed they could do. They just didn't entirely understand what he was struggling and why.

In a heartbeat, his parents sent him off. To a camp they knew nothing about, only with the hopes that someone could help their child. Help him make sense of himself and become better, like the child that they had raised.

He often wears his leather gloves when out in public. He only takes them off during swimming races, taking showers, treating animal companions, and sleeping in bed. Markus also loves wearing shorts, even in the dead of winter.

PERSONALITY - Markus tends to stray from large crowds he finds that are snobs or privileged. He often seems mildly irritated, especially around those he doesn't exactly know on a personal level. While he raises his voice at his teammates for doing a terrible job, he is capable of using his inside voice. He is kind once you know him but he is not exactly the touchy-feely type.

{History}- Markus grew up swimming. His father was profound coach in Mississippi. He would train with Markus and soon placed him on his team as team captian. At home, he spent time with his mother who worked at a local vet. Often she would bring back animals from vet and allow Mark to help take care of them.

While Markus was gaining swimmimg fame, he gained a special interest in fire. He liked how it flickered in the dark. He even liked how fire slowly swallowed paper into black dust. One evening, a enemy team trashed his team's cabin in San Diego, Californa. Markus being Markus, blew up his enemies' tour bus. The team quickly blamed Markus and filed a report to the police. While Markus destroyed the evidence at the time of the crime, many of his close his friends noted that he had a strange attraction to fire. Not so recently, Markus recieved burns from burning his dad's old storage cabin when he found out that he was being replaced as team captian. His father and mother were fined heavily instead of Markus going to jail. His mother convinced his father to not beat some sense to him (again). Instead, he was sent to the camp for rehabilitation for his behavior.
