overview.
The restaurant industry is one of the most demanding and brutal branches of the service industry there is. With an insane amount of moving parts involved, any restaurant should be a well-oiled machine. However, we all know how the service industry is; It gets messy, corporate making the people promises that the staff is simply unable to uphold.
Luckily, there are determined individuals out there, with a dream and a fire of passion to continue serving good people with good food. A humble, talented couple from Tennessee moved out to the coast in hopes to spread the love of good, southern cookin. What started as intimate get togethers at their house when they were newlyweds quickly grew to their own restaurant right there in Nashville.
Now, the couple has opened a small handful of stores in neighboring cities in Tennessee, but their Nashville location remains to be the most popular, as that is where everything begins. If they want to try to bring anything new to their restaurants, they always test drive it in Nashville.
Like all of Americaβs best restaurants, thereβs so much more to the dream team than just the founders. Every functioning machine have multiple cogs; Cooks, Waiters, Bartenders, the list goes on and on. Every employee is a valued member of the team, whether they have a true passion for cooking like the wholesome founders of βButtered Biscuitsβ, or theyββre just looking for their next paycheck.
Things can get pretty heated with that many people on a staff working together that often. Most people just want to come in, do good work, get paid, and go home. But of course, just as in any group, there are the few, and the proud that accompany the many. Who know what kind of drama has been cooking up in this restaurant for the past handful of months. As many of the employees say:
Get to cookin, or get to steppin
summary.
Howdy folks,
This thread idea comes from the WONDERFUL minds of myself and my dear friend, Nova! Drawing some inspiration from "The Bear" and "Wait", we've really been wanting to do a restaurant themed thread!
So, like stated earlier, this is going to follow a good ol southern restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. There are going to be some adult themes, so we'd prefer if everyone in 18+. Most of the stuff we wanna say is gonna be listed in the rules so head on over there!!

Bussers.
0 / 4
Bussers are the entry point in any restaurant. These are the employees that are responsible for keeping the place tidy. They sweep and mop, they clear dirty dishes from tables, they wash whatever dishes are thrown in their sink, and even have to put all the dirty dishes BACK where they go. A lot of bussers come into the restaurant business wanting to be something higher up, like a host or a cook, but every totem pole has to have a bottom.
Server.
1 / 5
The servers of a restaurant tend to be the arms and legs of the business. Always running around, jotting down orders, relaying them to the kitchen, making sure drinks are filled at all times, doing everything within their power to keep customers happy and coming back. Everyone always assumes that servers have the easiest job, but truth be told theirs is one of the more difficult jobs with less pay. Yeah, they kind of have to fake a smile throughout their entire shift or else they donβt make a whole lot of tipsβ¦ Which sucks when you work tip wage.
Hosts.
0 / 4
Hosts are truly the brain of the restaurant. Many people like to think Waiters are Hosts and vice versa, but that couldnβt be farther from the truth. Yes, most good hosts start as waiters, but they have a completely different job description; Waiters are responsible for managing tables, simply put. They learn their waiters and know who to seat which party at which table without overloading any waiter, they know how to handle reservations, including seating them, and they seem to have an answer for just about anything..
Cooks.
1 / 5
The true heart and soul, the kitchen. Filled with all kinds of chefs and bakers, the kitchen is the soul of any restaurant. Donβt be mistaken, the kitchen gets heated and chaotic and filled with drama from time to time, the kitchen staff are also the people that get to blast their music and cook for a living.
Bartenders.
0 / 3
The night life. Not starting their day until the late afternoon, the bartenders are responsible for the βSaloonβ. Mixing up drinks, keeping tabs open for those who require, and give a swift kick in the ass to whatever creep is staring at another customer.
Shift Managers.
0 / 3
A little bit of everything. Shift Managers are essentially the parents of the crew, doing a lot of the unseen work due to having the most experience. Many newer employees like to claim that the shift managers don't do as much work as everyone else, but that is the opposite of true. Shift Managers make sure everything stays in shape, everyone stays on their job, all while working alongside other employees. It's a big task, and only the most responsible employees get this promotion

one.All RPN rules apply, especially no hate. No homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, racism, etc etc. We like to have our rps be safe environments for people to have fun and be themselves! We're all here to write and enjoy our hobbies!! No hate, be good humans pretty please.
two. This will be an application based thread. Nobody is solidified as a character until they are officially accepted by both Sunshine and Nova. Along those lines, this is not a first come first serve deal, we will select characters we believe are best suited for each role, regardless of how early or late their sheet was made.
three. As stated before, everyone applying to this thread needs to be 18+; We're setting an age range for characters to be from 20-25, which will be leading to some adult themes, so let's all be legal adults! This is also going to be a semi advanced to fully advanced level thread, so we're expecting at LEAST 3-4 paragraphs per post. I'm not one for rp samples in cses, we just know that literary level often shows through character sheets, so just keep that in mind!
