I was wondering if I could make a character with a special connection to demons. I was thinking of making a Ketsueki Kodomo and was wondering if she could be friends with some demons, the nicer ones like the Kirin who only attack those who aren't "pure" but mainly small ones like a bunny demon or something.

@Tamotsu Fukui

So, hi there, I'd like to join this, I would, but before that I've an argument to make. Namely, on the nature of the Ketsueki Kodomos. Frankly, they look like a boring, awful choice for a player. It's like, you could be one of the dudes who are trained to superhuman levels to fight demons with holy weapons, ooooor, you could be a dude whose blood makes him a walking treat and whose role is entirely to be a victim so the other dudes get to fight and look cool around them. I get the duo dynamic thing, dig it even, but being a Ketsueki just seems like getting the short end of the stick.

As such I'd like to recommend making the Ketsueki into mages of some sort. It's a very easy transition. The reason why their blood attracts demons is because they're born with the ability to learn and use magic. This isn't readily apparent, not necessarily, it might just manifest as a few strange occurences happening around those born with the blood, early, crude and uncontrolled manifestations of their abilities. It was only discovered when Ito established the academy, and along with the Shi no Gados program the Ketsueki Kodomos are taught to harness their powers.

Why would the Gados be necessary if the Ketsueki can use magics? Think of it as allowing for a standard fighty guy+support guy combo. Gados are already set up as the dudes with actual offensive capabilities. All this does is allow the Ketsueki to chip in and help defend themselves by providing assistance to their respective bodyguard. Maybe they can even ward off lower level threats on their own, but still very much require a companion to do the heavy battling for them. I dunno, it's just an idea so it doesn't feel like a whole set of characters is just...there, acting as demon bait.

Yeah, I get it and I won't deny the fact that I was mildly annoyed but then again thats just me being an ass because someone disagrees with my rp. If you would like to discuss this with me however, I would have much rather enjoyed this long message in an actual conversation rather then placing it on my thread for all to see.

If you would like to join this do so, Ill be taking into consideration your opinion on my weak characters, however I feel that it would be hard for me to change it now that we have gotten into the rp, and would have to ask everyone else's opinions as well.

I enjoy seeing that someone has taken such an interest in my rp that they can write three paragraphs on how to improve it.

@Zerohex

I could have indeed PMd you this, but I feel stuff like this deserves a level of transparency, you know? Since I'm bringing up an idea that would directly affect people's experience with the game I feel it's best to put it up in the OOC for discussion so the playerbase can look at it and agree or disagree and maybe provide their own ideas on it all. I'm not exactly disagreeing on the RP, just pointing out that one of the PC choices feels a bit...empty. With the change I suggested they'd still very much need their bodyguards but actually get to do cool magical stuff themselves.

I would indeed like to join but I'd rather wait until this matter is settled one way or another, since opening up magical abilities allows for a much wider variety of character concepts for the Blood Children. I don't particularly feel it'd be an overly complicated change, the pair dynamic would remain about the same, the Guards of Death are still the fighty protectors for the frailer target kids, except now those frailer target kids could actually pitch in as well. It'd be simple enough to start with some manner of class where the students are made to discover their magical abilities.

Personally, I'd like my character to have magic abilities. Nothing you can use to actually fight, but stuff that fleshes out the character and gives them a reason to stay in the school.

It would be an interesting idea. Imagine what sort of tricks the Blood Child could do to help out the Guardian in a display of team-work against their foes.

Hello all! This post is to say that there is a big possibility that I quit this roleplay. My time zone apparently doesn't match with most posters, and I don't exactly fancy five pages welcoming me when I get back online.

...Yes, that's pretty much it. Thank you!

I can see from your signature that this happens a lot doesn't it, feeling the need to comment and change people's rps. I will be fixing it, we will see what will happen. Also thanks for taking that extra time to translate my words, I feel loved.

The signature is a principle thing. Yes, I'm opinionated and argumentative, I will offer suggestions on how I feel things can be improved upon and it baffles me that people will take constructive criticism and open discussion about games as a direct attack on their person. Especially since I do take the effort to try and be polite and phrase myself in a way that is constructive and not overly inflamatory while still getting the point across, and generally take the time to maybe help others further their games or consider a perspective they hadn't taken into account. You use the word "fixing" but I see it more as helping develop the game. As for the translation, eh, not like it's complex japanese and it's easier to write it out that way.

Thats quite the personality you have there. Well I changed it, so you can relax. If you have more opinions on how I fixed it which I'm sure you do, please message them to me privately.

Yes, it's called being able to present and justify arguments. What's saddest is not that people take it as a personal attack but that they can't even bring themselves to defend their own settings or provide arguments as to why the suggested changes are badwrong beyond "well I don't like it".

But yeah, that's about the only thing that struck me as being in need of changing, since it reduced a group of players to being able to do nothing, you know? Even Fate Masters, infinitely less cool than their respective Servants, can do magic n whatnot even if they're not on the same level. Tho you should probably update the CS to let people choose their magic abilities n whatnot, and people who already made a Blood Child should edit theirs in.

Ah yes I am happy that everything passed your inspection, I can't say I'm very different from the people you describe. But us people have a name you know its "Whiners". So please address us as such.

Well everything else is internally consistent, really. I could question the need for these kids to be born to rich families when just the one whose dad establishes the Academy would suffice, or even if that is actually necessary considering demons going around killing people is not a bad reason to round up and put their confirmed targets in a single spot to keep them away from everyone else. The reason for this would be to allow a greater variety of character backgrounds beyond "definitely born to rich people", of course, but it's not really necessary.

The only thing that struck me as silly was having a whole division of characters whose entire role was "sit there and look pretty and rich" while another set of characters gets to become demonslayers with holy weapons. Bit of an imbalance in the partnership there. A shame you identify yourself as someone who cannot discuss and develop their own setting with their players to try and enhance the overall quality of the game for everyone involved, oh well. As for being called a whiner, well, if you want me to I can do that. I mean I always try to be civil but if you like that...

Alright, xD I stand down. You have a very good way with words. The roleplay had been fixed just for you so please enjoy, if your not satisfied I would recommend making your own roleplay. And please don't make it sound like I have no inspiration to make this better. I went through the effort to make a roleplay for people to enjoy. Also I feel its a little insulting to call people's characters useless, people actually chose that character so I feel that you should bring this up with the eight people who decided to be "pretty and rich" or "demon bait", rather then me.

It's not about me, believe it or not. Sure I think that the change I suggested is a good idea, I wouldn't suggest it otherwise, but I feel it's a good idea because it lets anyone playing a Ketsueki Kodomo do things beyond being a victim. And since both DrBones and MechaGhoul saw merit with it, the change isn't really just to my benefit. I didn't mean to imply you have no inspiration to make your game better, but since you identified with a group of people who I criticized for that, you know, I just kind of made the link there.

I really would like ending this conversation and letting you roleplay, and I tried to a few times but couldn't. Enjoy the rp, I am super happy that you could provide an opinion and help me fix it. Please understand that I never had any intention to carry this conversation past one or two messages that ended with me changing it. However you had about 7 more paragraphs to get through that concerned you and your high horse of criticism.

Thank you very much.

I have things to do.

Alright, I'll edit my post to feature Yukku being his regular lazy self and pointedly ignoring your jabs and jives.

I noted the description for the youkai referred to it as a yokai, but one of the Nine Demons is also named Youkai. Is this just a generic demon, or is it a weird name, like a person named Human?
