arly
he/him
hi all! i'm looking for a couple more rp partners, so i thought i'd post a little search! here's a bit about me:
+ you can call me arly, or whatever else you like!
+ i'm a trans man who uses he/him pronouns
+ i'm 19 and a college student! the fall semester is officially in full swing as of now, so i'll definitely be busy from time to time.
+ i've rped on and off for around nine years now, and i tentatively call myself lazy-lit. my preferred reply length is generally around 250-500 words, though i can push for longer.
click on for more detailed guidelines!
+ OK with either discord or onsite dms!
+ i basically require romance for rp, and i vastly prefer lgbtq+ pairings
+ i'm not too picky on the age of my partners, but i'd prefer to rp with someone 17 or older
+ i would like a partner capable of multiple paragraphs per reply
+ i'm not too worried about reply times! all i really ask for is communication. if you do take a longer break between messages and i don't bump you, i probably just thought you lost interest, so please feel free to let me know if you ever want to pick something back up. (also feel free to bump me at any time, because i can be a bit of a ditz about this stuff! i will try to be a communicative as possible but i can absolutely be prone to falling off the face of the earth- i swear i'm lacking in object permanence for rps, so sometimes i just need to get bumped). also, ghost friendly!
+ speaking of communication, i'm a big fan of ooc chatter and the like! i enjoy becoming friends with my rp partners, at least to some extent. so a partner who's down for ping-ponging headcanons, making moodboards and playlists, and all that jazz is absolutely a plus!
+ OK with realistic, drawn, or descriptive faceclaims! let me know your preference, or we can just go with the vibe of the rp's setting
if interested, please pm me directly! i am very unlikely to reply to posts on the thread. sending over a little message with a bit about yourself and what you'd be interested in rping would also be greatly appreciated < 3
i've separated these ideas based on genre for general convenience. my cravings are more a vibe than a specific plot, so i'm absolutely open to receiving plot ideas outside of what's listed here! each section has a general overview of the type of rp i'm interested in, as well as some more specific ideas. i'll have starred plots i'm particularly interested in (more stars = greater interest) but i'm more than happy to do anything listed.
i've also added a fandom section, which is more of a pipe dream in this case since my fandoms of interest edge on the obscure end ;; all fandom rps will be either oc x oc or cc x cc, and i don't mix canons and ocs, just out of personal preference.
while i love adding drama and angst, the foundation of my realistic rps is usually something very slice of lifey. anything domestic, mundane, or quotidian is right up my alley. i also have a pretty obvious fixation on detective and lawyer media, and some of these plots take some super obvious inspiration from that. (if you like crime-focused plots that aren't necessarily pitch black in tone at all times, i am begging for something with this vibe!)
plots:
001. Muse A lives a double life: By day, they're an ordinary college student, but by night they're the renowned art thief currently plaguing the city. Muse B also lives a kind of double life, though they have no secret identity. A locally famous wunderkind, they began assisting in criminal investigations in high school, and their detective skills have led to several criminals getting caught throughout the years. Muse A has been having an easy enough time dodging the police, but things start getting more dicey when Muse B comes to the city for two reasons: One, to transfer to the same college as Muse A, and two, to catch the local master thief. It turns out that avoiding getting caught can be slightly more difficult when the detective sits next to you in class.
***** (begging for this one ;; preference for muse b, but i'm open to either. detective conan/magic kaito inspired. i simply cannot get enough of the detective/criminal banter vibe ok)
002. Muse A is a lawyer, fairly new to the courtroom but with big dreams. It may be those lofty aspirations that led to them taking on the case of Muse B, who's currently being accused of murder in a case that seems nearly airtight. They swear on their innocence up and down, and despite every other lawyer turning them away, Muse A can't help but believe them. Together, the two begin to unravel the truth behind the case, and start growing a bit closer along the way.
***** (open to either muse. ace attorney inspired. can imagine this one starting with the court case of muse b, and maybe eventually evolving into b becoming an assistant at muse a's legal offices or something?)
003. Muse A is on their walk home one day when they find Muse B, drunk and passed out on the side of the road. Ever the caring citizen, Muse A gives them some water and brings them back to their home to rest up for the night. When Muse B wakes up, they seem panicked by the whole affair, and they disappear in a rush—fast enough that they didn't even realize they left in the jacket Muse A gave them, and completely left their own behind. Luckily for Muse B, that jacket has a business card that leads them back to the owner. Unluckily, that means facing down the one person who's ever seen Muse B—a rather well-known celebrity with a flawless reputation—in such a state. The business card leads them to Muse A's place of business, directly underneath the apartment where they stayed the night, and the trade ends up in more than just hush money.
**** (open to either muse. details on what kind of celebrity, etc can be decided in plotting!)
004. Muse A is not a college student; They swore off education as soon as they got out of high school, and have been living that way just fine for the past few years. They are, however, a very well-known fixture among the student body of their local university for their services: Muse A will write a passing paper for any class, given the right price. The academic dishonesty business is going pretty well until Muse B gets wind of it. Muse B is a graduate TA at the school who had heard of Muse A in passing, but they don't realize the extent of their work until they learn that almost every paper they've been grading for the school year wasn't written by their students at all. Strangely, they're less angry with the cheating and more annoyed that a self-proclaimed non-academic is so damn good with the material. This leads Muse B to becoming Muse A's greatest annoyance, showing up to their place of work relentlessly in order to try and talk them into taking these classes for real. (Or, barring that, to stop leaching money from college kids on deadline.)
*** (open to either muse)
wordbank:
annoyances to lovers | university | rivalry (academic or otherwise) | fake dating | cafe | workplace shenanigans | opposites attract | single parent | in vino veritas | campy crime | pretty much any and all stupid romance tropes
this is a lot more all-encompassing than the other section, but i might as well put it all in one place! i'd be willing to do most fantasy and supernatural plots, really. currently i'm interested in things with a more light-hearted pastoral/ghibli vibe, though. the reason why historical is in the title is because i love medieval vibes with royalty and pirates and all, regardless of if explicitly fantastical elements are included.
plots:
001. Muse A is a magical being who, at one point or another, pissed off the wrong god and ended up sealed away. They stayed that way until Muse B, an ordinary person, accidentally broke the curse and set them free. Muse A is elated at their newfound freedom, but they quickly find that quite a lot of time has passed since they were originally sealed. Muse B ends up as their reluctant guide to the modern world.
***** (preference for muse b, but open to either. very into the vibe of an everyman being forced to deal with a time traveler or magical creature)
002. Muse A is a well-known witch who lives in seclusion in their tower, content to live out their days only ever speaking to those commissioning them for magic, until Muse B comes to their doorstep demanding to be taken on as a magical apprentice. Muse B clearly has a gift for the craft, but is far sloppier with their work than the renowned prodigy Muse A, and is determined to learn from them regardless of how much of a pain in the ass it makes them.
*** (open to either muse. love me witch shenanigans!)
003. Okay, this isn't really a plot, but I have an oc from an old plot that I'd love to bring back: A thief originally paired with a prince who he agreed to help for his freedom. if you're at all interested in some fantasy thief shenanigans, lemme know and i can tell you a bit more about that!
wordbank:
witches | enemies to lovers | pirate x royalty | urban fantasy | supernatural creatures | angels and demons | fairytale inspired | ghibli inspired | historical setting: medieval europe/feudal japan
sakamoto days
incredibly keen! would love to play shin asakura against natsuki seba. i'd also love to play as ocs; maybe a couple of order members, or an assassin and a civilian?
detective conan
this will always be my ride or die! would love to play shinichi kudo against either heiji hattori or kaito kuroba. (heikai could also be interesting?) as shown above, i'm also very down for detective & criminal inspired plots with ocs.
ace attorney/the great ace attorney
once again no shocker here. in terms of ccs, i'd love to play apollo justice against klavier gavin, or either end of narumitsu. for tgaa, i'd also kill to play rei and susato! for ocs, beyond what i mentioned in the above plots, i'm very interested in something specifically tgaa inspired, with the victorian setting and all. i don't have anything too specific for that, but i'm always down for brainstorming!
for cc pairings, i'm a little more likely to go for an au than strictly canon. i'm down for most aus, and you can get a feel for my interests there from the original plots above!
