Bot Mod

Dugym

One Thousand Club
You know all the bot raids that have been happening? What if a bot was created that could detect bot accounts and delete them for the moderators? I'm not sure how it could detect them; perhaps the bot mod could automatically delete topics with links in the title?

That sounds a bit complicated for something we can already deal with, I'm not sure if anyone on the staff team can even program new bots like that ^^;;

Instead, as long as people keep reporting them, it's really no trouble for us to flag them as spammers- takes only a few seconds. If we see them before anyone reports them we'll get rid of them anyways, too.

All in all, the process of reporting something you see, and the staff deleting it/flagging them as spammers should take less than a minute assuming someone's online to see it. The effort to make the bot wouldn't be worth the reward, basically.

Additionally, the cost of having an anti-spam bot could be prohibitively expensive to commission and keep updated.

Further to this there is also the possibility of a bot spam-flagging false positives, resulting in legitimate users getting flagged and having their content removed and their ability to post on site blocked.
