Bookmark Tab Thing

Is there a way to hide the bookmark tab thing because it's frustratingly annoying to work with? If I was using a laptop or something with an enormous screen then I doubt I'd even notice. However, I'm using a mobile phone and it's extremely difficult to post with this long black rectangular shaped annoyance taking up a portion of the screen.
