"Kingdoms are like buildings,

When the architect miscalculates,

The building will surely have its flaws,

When it misses even a single brick,

It will fall,"

Set far into the future by 30,000 years, humanity has left Earth and resided in a larger planet with the atmosphere being similar to Earth's. This planet was known as Vur'al and is ruled by several families who were known as the Circle of Unity or as the Great Houses of Vur'al who pledged their allegiance to the Emperor of the World. Due to its setting in the far future, humanity's level of technology far exceeds to those of the ones prior to their migration to Vur'al.

Although the technology of the humans are far more advanced, high levels of artificial intelligence are prohibited in order to avoid history repeating itself as Earth was taken by an artificial intelligence 30 centuries earlier. But, humans will rely on normal AI to complete tasks. Over the centuries, a small percentage of humans have developed the ability to possess supernatural traits known as the Seers but those who can, will be sent to the Emperor to serve as his watchers to look over the planet.

While the Emperor rules over Vur'al, the Right Hand of the Emperor acts as the military force, usually lead by a family of the Circle of Unity. Other than that, trade and economy is managed by the Vur'alean Trade Guild (VTG) who manages trade routes from a specific settlement to another with the agreement of a family member (more details later).

As the Emperor of the World sat on the All-Seeing Throne, there are people who conspires to overthrow the Emperor himself and take the throne, to put the planet under one banner.

The Land of Larea

The lush green lands and forests of Larea were home to many fantastic beasts and wild creatures, ranging from the titan rhinos to the ferocious Wargers. The noble family of Andreus rules these lands with just and thus, they prospered. Located south to the Northern Reach.

The Northern Reach

Glacial_Moutains_1920x1200.jpg

The frozen mountains of the Northern Reach pierced the skies, showcasing their might and beauty. Home to the noble house of Artydea, the Northern Reach becomes a symbol of the strong for the weak have no place in this place. The harsh weather makes them stronger than any man.

The Scorching Lands

The Scorching Lands is essentially a large desert, with great cities were built upon its burning sands. Governed by the noble family of Caryna, these desert lands is also home to the mighty Vesarion beasts. Thanks to the rule of the House of Caryna, merchants from this place can trade their greatest spices in other towns across Vur'al.

The Sunlands

The Sunlands was considered as an industrial capital, possessing superior technology than most of the other locations. Home to the noble family of Varius as well as the Emperor's family themselves, the rulers of the Sunlands constantly keep their citizens safe and their pockets full.

The Seven Isles

Home to the most richest noble family in the planet, the Seven Isles is also the richest place all across Vur'al. None can match its beauty and prosperity, the Seven Isles is also home to thousands of soldiers and is ruled by the Lothrons. However, their prosperity is constantly threatened by the Artydeans for their ideals - only power can make the weak seemed strong.

The Vissuran Islands

This is where the fearless Lords of the Iron Circle, who stood strong in their duties and faith. The Acryeans lead their people into a society that revolves around honor in actions, similar as the Artydeans. With annual hunting seasons, the victors of each year will be initiated as an Iron Guardian, the most fearsome troops across the planet.[/HIDE][/HIDE]

Political Powers of Vur'al

The Circle of Unity

The Circle of Unity is the governing families of Vur'al, each family pledged their allegiance to the Emperor of the World who rules all over the planet. Each of the Great Houses have their own strengths and weaknesses. Some of the families are rivals against a different House because of their own reasons.

House Lothron – The noble house of Lothron is home to the family who occupies the Seven Isles and the current head of the family is Paul Lothron V. The richest in all of Vur’al, the House of Lothron has been known to possess large armies. Their most notable location is Sandstorm Fort. The Lothrons have a feud between them and the Artydeans, distrusting each other for most of the time mainly for their own respective ideals.

The House of Andreus – The Andreans are noble, and perhaps recognized as the most honorable family in all of Vur’al. The family currently occupies the lush green lands of Larea. Most of the Noble Houses recognized them as the family who possesses the powerful Knights of the Reaping Wolf. The current head of the family Jacob Andreus. Most notable location is Howlsmoon. The Andreans remains neutral in any war, perhaps to keep their subjects safe from the brink of destruction. They are also protective of the citizens under their territory which is the only reason why the Andreans do not wish to become hostile.

House Artydea – The Artydeans occupies the frozen mountains in the Northern Reach, a place where the strong lives, that’s what they say. The armies in the Artydean family are mostly infantry but they are indeed strong. The family are widely known for their analytical minds, the masters of the field of war some might say, those who can get the Artydeans on their side have a great advantage. Current head is Gerard Artydea.

The House of Varius – The Varian family are currently serving the Emperor of the World as the Emperor’s Right Hand. Because of their status as Vur’al’s ‘protectors of the planet’, they are now staying in the prosperous city known as the Sanguine City. Possessing the powerful Varian Legion as their main units during wartime, the Emperor’s forces remain strong thanks to the leadership of the Varian family’s head, Severus Varius who occupies most of the Sunlands.

The House of Caryna – The family of Caryna occupies the Scorching Lands. The members of the family as well as their powerful Quharan troops are capable to ride the planet’s powerful Vesarions, winged dragon-like creatures. The Caryneans and the Andreans remained allies for many centuries. Their current head of the family is Lady Qurin Caryna, replacing her husband who died of sickness.

The House of Acryea – Acryeans are powerful, even feared by the Lothrons and the Varians. The Acryeans are commonly known as the Lords of the Iron Circle. Backed with the Iron Guardians, the lands of the Vissuran Islands are untouched due to its location, far from the Sunlands. Lord Sirius Acryea leads the family with an iron soul and is willing to protect the family at all costs. Also being widely known for their blacksmiths, they forge the best armor that only the worthy families can get.

Emperor of the World
The supreme ruler of Vur'al who sits on the All-Seeing Throne. Some even considered the Emperor is the embodiment of Vu'uthar, the god of creation and existence.

The Emperor watches over the world, keeping the whole world in peace while not interefering the disputes between the noble families.

Essential World Information

Technology

destiny-concept-art-leak-bungie.JPG

Technology in the current century far exceeds those in the ‘ancient’ days. With force shields, hovering bikes as well as cars, holographic projections which acts as the current ‘video calling’. However, development of advanced artificial intelligence are prohibited in order to prevent history from repeating itself (to control the whole world).

Weapons and armors in Vur’al are mostly based on medieval times, with the existence of swords, spears, lances as the society of the planet thinks that these weapons are far more honorable than the weapons used by ‘cowards’ (i.e. guns). Some individuals have supernatural powers different of those from the Seers and were known as the Guardians. These individuals are able to teleport short distances and use force shields to protect themselves and thus, bullets aren’t very effective against them. Most nobles (i.e. members of the Great Houses) are Guardians.

Cybernetic versions of animals that were made for transportation also exists such as horses. These cybernetic animals are far more cheaper to make than hover bikes. Thus, cavalry units are equipped with them. Battle machines such as huge robots also played a big part in a war but requires more money and time to construct one.

Economy & Currency
45e33519077649.562d49efde65b.png

Raegans are the currency used in the world of Vur’al. They have different values depending on which ‘color’ they are coated with (look below):
Bronze Raegans have an economical value of 1 (equivalent to £1)
Silver Raegans have an economical value of 10 (equivalent to £10)
Gold Raegans have a value of 100 (equivalent to £100)
Emerald Raegans have a value of 50 (equivalent to £50)
Azure Raegans have an economical value of 20 (equivalent to £20)
Dark Raegans have a whopping value of 1000 (equivalent to £1000) but are pretty rare.

Pure gold can be harvested in mines that are located across the world. The Vur’al Trading Guild (VTG) manages trade routes from a specific settlement to another. To do this, the Guild requires the agreement of the owner of the settlement to allow merchants to travel to. Usually during in the times of war, the warring factions will usually close their trading routes to their opposing side’s settlements.

Culture
The Vur’alean government is based on monarchy with the Emperor of the World being as the supreme ruler of the planet. The Right Hand of the Emperor serves their liege as the forces who organizes the military forces during wartime. Each of the factions in the planet have their own culture.

Religion
Religion of Enlightenment - The Great Houses/Circle of Unity worships Vu’uthar as their true god. This has been known as the Religion of Enlightenment as worshippers believed that Vu’uthar is the source of all life and creation. Those who worship him also believed that when doing something good, a reward shall be received from the god himself either as a blessing or something else (i.e. victory of a war, wealth).

The Pantheon of the Known Universe – Half of the citizens of Vur’al believed that there are 7 gods that watches over Vur’al. Each god represents a certain aspect of life, such as hope, despair, discord and others. To lead these 7 gods, there is the Great One who creates all, protects all.

The Cult of the Serpents – This religion was practiced by the Quldara, a faction of sand dwellers who roams around the deserts of the Scorching Lands. The Cult mainly revolves around sacrifice and rituals. Believing that the serpent goddess will grant them power the more they kill in her name.

Faith of the Machine - A theological religion based on knowledge and technology. Worshipped by Servors and Exors, the Faith of the Machine believes that Omniron as the embodiment who bestows all life the knowledge to build, and prosper as well as technology.

Races of Vur'al

Humans

5008089937_cab8e51341_o.jpg

Humans are the most dominant race on Vur'al. They migrated to Vur'al to escape from the terror they left on Earth - an artificial intelligence that seeks to destroy the whole world. When they reached Vur'al, the humans received a universal energy known as the Arima although most humans are unable to use it for tapping on one's Arima energy is nearly impossible.

Exors/Servors

create-kyart.jpg

Exors and Servors are essentially the same race created by humans. Exors are robots that served humanity as law enforcers and sometimes soldiers on the battlefield, capable of wielding weapons similar to humans'. Servors are robots that helped humans in their lives, either in factories or simply babysitters.

The Ah'nur

411602.jpg

These natives of Vur'al are the masters of hunting. Although humans themselves are great hunters the Ah'nur are simply superior. They live in a society that is always about honor and the thrill of the hunt. However, when humans arrived in Vur'al, the Ah'nur respects them and teaches them into becoming better hunters. Several Ah'nur clans despise the humans and occasionally raids human settlements.

The Arima, Guardians & the Fallen

For millions of years, humanity had believed that magic does exist but they never actually encounter such energy. Since the beginning of time, all creations in the Known Universe have Arima flowing in their veins. But in humans, the Arima's existence is... vague in their eyes, obscure from the eyes of many... when they are still living in Earth.

Upon reaching Vur'al, this 'magical' force or energy is stronger, allowing certain individuals to tap into their Arima powers and use it in different situations. Powerful individuals with a strong connection with the Arima serves the Emperor as his watchers while similar individuals simply uses it in war, most notably the members of the Circle of Unity.

Arima is essentially, the life of the Known Universe. Those who managed into their hidden powers are indeed powerful. When awaking one's Arima, he/she must not force it for doing so will result in dire consequences such as having their face distorted, losing their ability to talk or even death. It requires time and patience, recognizing one's true weaknesses and endure it. However, vengeance, hatred, and perhaps fear can unleash one's Arima almost instantly.

Basically, it's the Force.

Guardians are an order of individuals who chooses the path to utilise their Arima for the sake of protecting Vur'al from its enemies. They are simply allied to no one, to prevent themselves from being used as a weapon in their own personal wars. Guardians lived on the code that they shall never betray or they will become on the Fallen.

The Fallen are actually Guardians who breaks their moral code for their own personal gain. Because of this, the Guardians and the Fallen are at war between them, fought secretly, unknown to the world.

Basically, Jedi & Sith

Hey, this looks pretty interesting! Think I'll stick my foot in the door here. You've put a lot of effort into the worldbuilding, and it shows.

What sorts of characters would be requested? Is everyone gonna be in one group/have previous experience with one another, or are we all crossing paths for the first time? Just want to know before I start formulating ideas.

This is interesting here.

Questions though, has human life expectancy extended itself? Is a person able to live to the age of 300+? (I don't mean like 1000 years however)

Also what type face claims are you limiting here?

I prefer characters that are either know each other, some even just total strangers. These type of characters can be forged through their backstory. You CAN have your character be a relative of another one.

@Lorkhan

Yup! Exactly!

@JujuBee

Yay! You're in!

@KaldorDraigo

Kaldor was gone out of the Warp to join this? Interesting...

@Lord Shaxx

Umm no. Humans are not able to extend their life expectancy up to that point... yet. However, some managed to live over 100 years (with the exception of the Emperor himself which extends his life for over 500+ years)

Alright, So what type of characters are available or what professions are generally not open for use in this roleplay? I ask because I'd like to have a Soldier/Warrior but from what I'm reading I don't see any other form military other than the Guardians and the Fallen so I don't know.

Also by Medieval based would this be the type of armour I could expect to see here?

@Lord Shaxx

Ah yes. There are other military factions though. Each of them serving different Houses and each having their own strengths which is mentioned in the Political Powers section.

Some of these factions have been disbanded such as the Reapers of the Gale and others. Which gives you an opportunity to create your own disbanded faction - if you do, post it here or PM me.

Soldiers, infantry, elite calvary units for the noble houses? Armed forces protecting the interests of the various religions? Mercenaries in the pay of merchant-traders? It's basically medieval times 30000 years into the future :)

@GalahadAlso, a seperate info paragraph on what Seers and Guardians REALLY do and their significance in this world would be really helpful.

I must have overlooked that, I'll give it another read over mate.

Comin' right up!

Essentially, Guardians are the protectors of the world, using their Arima to safeguard Vur'al from outer and inner threats while a secret war of their own against the Fallen. Remember, the Guardians' job is to protect Vur'al.

The Seers however, looks over the world and are much powerful than the Guardians. They can fight but their duty is to look over the planet alongside the Emperor himself. They are also known as the World Watchers.

Nice.

So basically the Guardians protect Vu'ral as a world, from whatever they decide could threaten it, yes? So if the Emperor was decided to be a threat to the world, they would rebel against him?

The World Watchers are loyal to the Emperor then?

Yes. And yes.

That is the Guardians duty, "To protect the world, with our lives as its shield,"

I... just realized when that happens, it'd be epic.

Oooh.... the seven houses... the Religions.... the cults... all clashing when/if the Guardians decide the Emperor is a threat to Vur'al.

Horus Heresy :P

Actually, this a question that has been in the back of my head.

Are these weapons physical weapons like a regular sword in real life or are they energy swords where the hard-light blade is projected from a hilt/handle?

Power weapons. They look like actual swords but energy has been projected to its sharp sides (or the blunt sides in hammers/maces)
