Blood and Water (♠ Blue Suit ♠)

(Oh no! No worries. I had to take a bath xP)

Mia stepped a bit hesitantly inside the bar, looking around for Tome. Funnily enough, she had never been into a bar before and she couldn't help it but cover her nose for a second as the strong scent of alcohol hit her. It reeked! She shook her head and made her way from the entrance to the floor. It was clearly empty, but some of the people inside turned their heads to look at her, surely thinking the girl just seemed off on a place like that, she didn't blend in at all. When she spotted Tome on the front, she frowned and took long strides to reach him. She then took a deep breath and opened her mouth "You shouldn't be drinking like this" She declared, hands on her hips.

((And then I ate dinner and had some quality time with the parents lol))

Tome heard the footsteps approaching, and thought they were a little light for anyone he'd seen inside the bar, but didn't think anything of it until they stopped right next to him. He finished the swallowed he'd taken, glanced sidelong at Mia when she spoke to him, and just shook his head. ". . . You should be sleeping." He said, words only faintly slurred and still mostly coherent. He aimed to change that. "I'll do as I like."

((oh my god I just found this and it's totally going to be Tome's song later akjshadfhwgho >_<

Mia rolled her eyes a bit before she shook her head. Again, he was taking that childish, rebellious attitude. "Suit yourself" She sighed before she took a seat by the place he was sitting at. It was not as if she could just leave him alone there, even if he could take care of himself, Mia wouldn't be able to help it but worry. He wanted to drown everything in alcohol? Fine, he would have to face all of that sooner or later "You're impossible" She thought out loud.

(It's nice! Though at the beginning couldn't help it but imagine Tome going all "Woo ooo" Like the singer xD )

((Oh god xD That's a ridiculous but hilarious image))

Tome frowned a little at his glass when she sat next to him, shaking his head slowly. "So I've been told." He said, ignoring the fact that she may have just been speaking to herself. A moment of silence passed between them. ". . . I don't need to be policed." He wasn't quite sure if he was more unhappy about her presence or just the fact that she might try to stop him from drinking, and that if he got inebriated enough to lose some coordination she might even succeed. "You should be resting."

"I'm not tired" She said with a shrug "And I'm not saying you need to be policed, nor I'm here to do so. I'm here to drink" Mia was surprised by her own lie and how... natural and casual had it just come out of her mouth. Lord, she didn't even drink... Had never tried, had never been interested in doing so. But she didn't want Tome to force her to leave. He would be wasted sooner or later and she didn't feel comfortable with leaving him there on his own. Even if he was a grown man and could take care of himself.

Tome eyed her, skeptical even while a little bit drunk, and turned to look at the man on the other side of the bar a few feet down. He raised a hand a bit to get the man's attention and just gestured vaguely at Mia, and a minute or so later there was a drink sitting in front of her, one not quite so strong as his but still alcoholic. "Then drink." He said, taking a long drink from his own glass. He could call her bluff if he felt like it.

Mia almost made a face as the drink was placed in front of herself but stopped herself from doing so. She really was not interested on trying it. But... She glanced at Tome before looking back at her drink and reaching for the glass. A long, but noiseless, sigh escaped her before she led it to her lips, taking a short zip. As the liquid went down her throat she felt a bit of a 'burning' sensation - if that concept could fit the context - but she didn't let it show on her face. Agh, why do people like these things? She thought to herself.

Tome smirked a little into his drink when she made a face as her drink went down. Shaking his head a little, he just drained the rest of his in one go and gave the bartend a little two-fingered wave to get himself another. He didn't really have to speak for the order since he was just getting the same thing over and over. It was starting to work, but he knew he still had a ways to go. He rarely had the opportunity to curse his own metabolism, but this was one of the times he could.

Mia's eyes narrowed when she saw Tome drinking all his glass in one shot. However, she was not foolish enough to try and do the same thing with her own drink. Sooner or later, sooner or later She thought to herself as she set her glass back on the table. She felt a chill running down her spine and turned her head lightly to the side, watching from the corner of her eye as some people seemed to be eyeing them. Oh lord, she hoped she was just being paranoid. She quickly turned her gaze back to the table Please, let it be sooner than later, sooner than later She started in her mind.

Tome ignored Mia, for the most part, because his own thoughts were drifting to things just a tad more pleasant than the current journey he was on, and the reason for it. When he was beginning to consider putting his head on the bar and sleeping - he was not a loud or boisterous or violent drunk, but more of one that sat around and mused on nothing of importance, inhibitions mostly gone but still quiet - footsteps approached. Tome didn't turn, disregarding them because he was sitting at the bar and most people came up to get their drinks rather than waiting for the waitresses that were no longer working this late to come and ask them. When they stopped behind him, rather than to either side, he finally started to wonder what they were doing. He didn't turn around.
((Night))

Mia was just gazing absently, a bit tiredly and rather boringly at her same semi full glass when she raised her eyes to the front, her eyes fixing on the same people she had felt had been staring at them and who were now standing behind Tome. Her brows furrowed and she felt the panic and anxiousness blooming on her chest. This... Can't be happening. No, this is not happening She thought at the same time her eyes found their way to one of those people's eyes. She looked to the side immediately after that, nibbling down on her bottom lip and just hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

(Nighty night :>)

((Woops! Forgot it as my turn. My bad))

Tome stayed focused on the drink in front of him until a hand finally landed on his shoulder and nearly yanked him off his chair as it turned him around. By the time he was facing the small group of men, he was glaring.

The one that had turned him, obviously the impromptu leader of this group, was glaring right back. "Your kind isn't welcome here, seshin."

As if he didn't speak elvish, as if he didn't know what the insult meant. Or perhaps the point was that he would. "My money's just as good as anyone's. **** off." The words were spoken without much volume or heat, just annoyance and an almost weary sort of drawl. Either way, he had a feeling this was going to end with property damage and having to leave anyway.

(It's okay. Went on a trip and my mom told me there was WiFi at the hotel but there wasn't any, so I wasn't able to get on the begin with)

"Can you please... leave us alone? We'll leave soon, we truly don't want to start any trouble" Mia really did want to avoid any fights or something like that. Tome was already angry or upset, or whatever to begin with. She tried to look persuasive and a little bit - but just a tiny bit - of pleading there. Surely, she wouldn't get even involved in the fight, but she wanted to keep Tome out of it to say the least. He wasn't very nice, that was true, but Mia tried to reconcile that with her own voice and way of asking things. Though deep down inside, she did wanted them to get their a**** kicked for such stupid words. Your kind... How idiotic that itself was. Nevertheless, now was not the place nor the time.

((Awww, that sucks. I hate when stuff like that happens. It's always so disappointing))

The leader glared at Mia for a moment and Tome wondered how much it would gain him to attack first and slam one of his glasses into the man's head. "Quiet, human." The man snapped, as if humans were inferior, but not quite so disgusting as half-breeds. "We'll kick out anyone we want to -"

"No one's leaving." Tome interrupted, shaking his head and flipping the man off. "Now **** off. I have better things to be -"

The elf's fist slammed into his jaw, hard enough he tumbled sideways and back so that he hit the bar as well as the stool next to him on his way to the ground. He pushed up into a slouched sit against the counter, beneath the lip of the bar, and wiped a bit of blood from his lip. ". . . Okay." He could've blocked it, could've leaned back and let it glance off his shoulder - but now he could claim self defense.

(Yeah :/ Well got to spend quality time with my family to say the least :>)

Mia's eyes lowered to Tome, wide-eyed before she raised them again to the elf. Frankly, she didn't quite know how to react. But she could honestly tell, she felt angry. Not really because she had been looked down on, that happened most of the times because of what she was. Actually... She couldn't even tell why, but the moment she had seen that man's fist slamming against Tome she felt a strange burning feeling raising. Without even thinking it twice she took her semi-full glass and with all her strength and tossed it to the man's face. Was she being impulsive? Perhaps. Was she doing the most intelligent thing? Maybe not. Was she okay with getting into a fight again? Well if she did get beaten up again, by a non human creature this time, she could really end up dying, but no biggie.

The second Mia threw her drink, Tome was already rolling forward to his feet, but he didn't stand, instead launching himself at the elf leader and slamming a shoulder into his gut. Tome sprawled to the floor with the elf but was up first, even while intoxicated, and gave the man a solid punch to the head before the next elf grabbed him by the hair. Tome didn't resist, instead just gritting his teeth and shoving up with the elf's pull, slamming the top of his head into the man's face. That elf stumbled away with a broken nose and he threw himself at the last. If they'd had more people on their side, it might've been an even fight.

Mia stayed still on her spot as she watched Tome fight them. She did understand that if she even tried to interfere or help him on that, she would just be hindering him. So, as powerless as ever, she could just watch. The only comfort she could find was that we seemed to be doing extremely well on that quarrel. He had already 'beaten' two after all.

((Sorry, I went out to a late lunch with people, then spent much too long spending money at Gamestop and then Kohl's xD ))

Tome had a little more difficulty with the last elf, because the man was more aware, but it wasn't too difficult. A few good punches had the man on the ground, Tome kneeling atop him to make sure he was unconscious, and when the man with the broken nose came back, Tome kicked him in the ribs to get rid of him again. Tome stood after that, kicking the first man in the temple to knock him out, left a handful of silver on the counter, took the bottle he had been served from over the counter, and turned to walk out.

(Uh, Gamestop! :D What did you buy? :3)

Mia shook her head and hopped off the chair, as if meaning to follow him. Then again, what was the meaning of that? He could get in whatever fights he wanted and she would juts be able to stand there like an idiot. She felt as a child following her parent "Have you had enough?" She finally brought herself to ask. First he was trying to get drunk, then he had knocked out three men. What was next?

((Oh, I bought one of the "classic" controllers so I can play Ocarina of Time through the Wii's Shop Channel :) ))

Tome took a swig from the bottle as he shoved the door open and walked out with Mia at his heels. The alcohol burned the cut in his lip but he ignored it. It needed to be sterilized anyway, he thought dimly, out of habit more than any care. "Not really," He said as he walked, rubbing his jaw a bit to try and be rid of the soreness that would no doubt be a bruise later. "Adrenaline's got me mostly sober again." He aimed to fix that.

(Oh, The Legend of Zelda, is it? Have heard of it? Is it good? Sorry! I got called out for dinner)

Mia huffed a bit "Is getting drunk so important to you?" She asked with a scowl "Won't you need to be completely 'sober' to keep going tomorrow? Or do you not get... 'Hangover', is it?" She kind of wanted to add the fact that getting drunk wouldn't help at all. But maybe he would end up telling her to stop talking about things she 'did not understand'. And maybe he was right, she did not understand how getting drunk helped at all, nor how was it when someone you loved that much was taken away from you in such a way. The anxiousness, the pain, in that case she knew nothing at all.

((I haven't played Ocarina yet, but I've played all the way through Skyward Sword (which was awesome) and I'm in the middle of Twilight Princess (which is also awesome but much creepier lol). Can't wait to play :) If I disappear later, that's probably why))

Tome glanced at her sidelong, considered just walking faster and leaving her behind, but it felt like too much effort in the end and he just took another drink, wiped his mouth carefully on the back of a hand. "I want to keep my head for the rest of the journey," He said, shrugging slightly, "So I have to calm down a while." The alcohol would keep him from turning into a panicking, anxiety-ridden ball of stress and would surely knock him out after he polished off the bottle. "I don't get hungover as badly as you do. Metabolism." He would be in pain, surely, but pain was something he could deal with.

(I understand x) )

"Oh" Mia said quietly before going silent. If he said so... Anyway by the look of it, he seemed to be really displeased by her company. She felt a painful twinge on her chest and frowned, absently placing her hand on top of it. Ah... What a familiar feeling that one was. She really disliked to be unwelcome, but she had to be stubborn and keep on following him, secretly wishing he would just fall already. In a way, she really did not want him to keep on drinking any longer-

((Well. . . .yeah, so that didn't actually happen -_- I bought my game and got all set up, played for about twenty minutes, then got a call from work asking if I was coming in for my shift tonight. I panicked and checked my schedule and sure enough, I was just a derp and thought I worked TOMORROW, not today. So that call came when I was already fifteen minutes late, and then it took me twenty to get ready really, really fast and get to the store, and I still managed to get everything done barely on time, but I was in super stress anxiety mode the entire time and I never ate dinner. So I'm now eating a sandwich, Doritos, and brownie with a gigantic glass of milk, and hopefully ill be able to calm down and sleep soon OTL))

When they got back to the inn, Tome was already almost done with the bottle, and stumbling a bit as he walked. By the time he had finished the rest he was just flopped stomach down on his bed, head turned to keep from suffocating and staring listlessly at the wall. The bottle clinked quietly to the ground and he let out a long, quiet sigh, closing his eyes and just wanting to sleep. In the morning, he would have to think again.

(God. That was quite the day. But I guess a good thing you're finally done with it :> The store? Now that I think about it, where do you work at, if you don't mind me asking?)

Mia was relieved to see Tome was finally laid down and 'safe' back at the inn. She shook her head and held back a sigh as she walked to him, picking the bottle up from the floor and placing it to the side against the wall. Carefully, quietly and quickly she pulled one of the thin blankets that were on top of what seemed to be an old couch and tossed it gently over him. After she was done, she blew the lit up candle which had been placed on top of the table and tiredly hopped on the couch, too lazy to get any further than that. There she curled on herself and quite quickly doze off herself.
