Blood and Water (♠ Blue Suit ♠)

Tome looked back at her when she thanked him, then just nodded and made his way out. He checked on Fawn again, to be sure she was breathing steadily and without a crackle in her lungs, then went to his own room and settled in bed.

((sorry for shortness. I gtg))

Mia sighed softly as soon as he left the room, rolling again to face the ceiling. If you're going to move, you have to do it gradually. She replayed those words on her head. She nodded and slowly sat up. Then carefully and with the help of her good hand she slid her legs to the side, to the edge of the bed. Her legs they... Felt fine enough. She wiggled her toes before she brushed her feet lightly against the floor. "Move one limb at a time" She murmured under her breath, sliding her right foot forward and firmly planting the left one on the floor "Stand" She declared, softly pushing herself up "Ah" She gasped with a triumphant smile. Her legs were fine, just a bit stiff and probably bruised but apart from that, they were just fine.

Come morning, Fawn was feeling good still, so Tome got to walk her down the stairs instead of carrying her, and sat her at the table while he made breakfast. She watched and hummed quietly to herself, just watching him move. Even if she couldn't do a whole lot still, she did like seeing him do the things she liked, and cooking had always been one thing she was interested in. 'Like science - with food!' she had declared when she was younger. He was glad enough to indulge her.

((Gonna lose internet for a bit today))

Mia had actually managed to reach the bathroom on her own. She felt as if she herself had actually overestimated her own injuries. She had, practically, just walked around her room all night long. Her legs, which at the beginning gave a dull complain, grew used to it and now she was able to stand up without requiring any help. She, of course, still had to do it slowly, mainly because other parts of her body would hurt if she didn't. She got the water from the sink running and stuck her head inside. The refreshing feeling was almost immediate, her previously rather sticky hair falling on loose curls forwards as the water soaked them.

Tome stayed with Fawn while she ate, eating something for himself just to appease her, and only left when she was almost done. He knew she would stay seated until he came back, so he went up to check on Mia and frowned when he heard water running. "Mia?" He called, knocking on the bathroom door. "Are you in there?" He shook his head. Tat was a stupid question. " What are you doing up?"

Mia blinked when she heard the knock on the door, lifting her face on response by reflex, just to hit her head against the faucet aerator "Ouch!" She exclaimed, pulling her head back and splashing a bit of water That hurt She thought to herself while rubbing the back of her head. For a moment there, she even forgot about Tome being there as she just absently caressed the hit spot.

Tome winced a little when he heard a loud bang, frowning at the door again and wondering if he should just open it without asking permission. "What are you doing? Can I open the door?" He honestly wouldn't care if he walked in on her naked if she needed help - he had seen both men and women naked before and it wasn't as if he was some kind of instinct-driven animal like others thought. He had too much control for it to affect him in anyway. He just had a feeling that if he did walk in on her without clothing she would find something sharp or heavy to hit him with.

Mia winced a bit as she applied pressure on her head, it would swell up. She shook her head to snap herself back to reality when she heard Tome's voice and slowly walked to the door, her wet hair dripping water into the floor and into her face. When she was in front of the door she reached for the knob and twisted it, opening the door as she was still kind of grimacing "I was washing my hair" She said as she looked up at him "Good morning" She added, out of habit.

He just frowned, brow furrowing at her and wondering what had happened, and it honestly did just slip his mind to return the pleasantry. It often did. "What was that sound? Did you hurt yourself again? I thought I said to take it easy for a few days." He couldn't help her get better if she wouldn't listen to him.

"I am taking it easy" She complained a bit, lowering the hand that was rubbing her head to her side "I just accidentally hit my head with the faucet aerator while I was washing my hair" She couldn't help it but huff a bit, if only he hadn't knock! But she wouldn't tell him that.

Tome's lips pressed into a thin line for a few seconds, and he finally let out a heavy sigh, shoulders relaxing a bit and one hand rising to pinch the bridge of his nose while the other waved her back towards the bathroom. "Turn around. I'll see what I can do about it." He could at least heal small wounds like this quickly, so she wouldn't have to have a bump and headache on top of everything else.

Mia tilted her head to the side a bit, brow raised. What for? The question popped up into her head. Her gaze looked somewhat confused for a few seconds before she slowly turned around. She intertwined her hands softly in front of her as she waited for him to do whatever he was planning on doing.

"This will tingle a bit." Tome warned, then just pressed his hands together in front of him and closed his eyes. Magic wasn't always about words or about motions - it was most often about feelings and strength, of wanting something enough that it happened. Perhaps that was why he was never very good at it, but this much he could do. He opened his eyes, after a moment, and blew a light breath into his hands, the air coming out a glittering sort of light that wrapped around into his palms and stayed there as he held them out to the back of her head. He didn't even had to touch her, just let the light settle over her and heal the bump she'd made on her head, the tiny little scratch that hadn't even started to bleed. It was enough.

Mia couldn't hold back a small gasp that made it's way through her pursed together lips. It had felt... Strange. That was the only word she could really come up with. What have he done? She automatically looked over he shoulder at him, her eyes a bit questioning. Then she saw his eyes and blinked, right, he could use magic, had she used magic on her? Amazing She thought to herself.

When the process was over and Mia looked at him, Tome blinked slowly to clear the daze and shook his hands out towards the floor, shimmering 'fairy dust' falling away and disappearing before it ever touched the ground, until his skin no longer glowed. ". . . Well . . . In any case, it should be better now. If you're feeling up to it, you can wash, or I can help you. In the meantime, I should go and check on Fawn." He didn't like the way she was looking at him. No one had ever looked at him in awe before - at least, not in a positive way.

(Lol fairy dust xD )

Mia was once again snapped out of it by his voice and looked away automatically as she realized she had just been staring at him like an idiot. She shook her head lightly before she, with a small noiseless sigh, looked back at him a small and grateful smile settled on her face "Thanks. I'll... Wash by myself, I'm sure I can at least manage that much" She could right? Besides, it was not like she really wanted him to help her on that matter.

((There is no other way to describe sparkly little dots of light falling to the floor xD ))

Tome nodded and turned to walk away, but stopped two steps later and glanced back at her. ". . . I was referring to your hair." He said, to clarify he had no ill intentions of trying to get her naked, then shifted uncomfortably and headed back down the stairs again. Fawn was probably done eating by now and he wanted to get her settled wherever she wanted to be.

(True. Still couldn't help it but imagine the whole thing of dropping fairy dust like... Tinker bell or something like that xD )

Mia raised her eyebrow at her remark and followed him with her sight before he disappeared on the stairs. She then covered her mouth with her hand in an attempt to muffle a small chuckle. Mostly because of the way he seemed to have shifted uncomfortably when he had been done 'clarifying' things. She shook her head with a small smile still settled on her face and slid inside the bathroom again, determined to take a bath.

((Sorry, found an app for singing karaoke and its monopolizing all my time xD ))

Tome went down to get Fawn, but instead of taking her to her room, she told him she wanted to sit out with everyone again. He took her to the sitting room, instead and got her settled, then went to find something to entertain her with. She was feeling well again, so he thought a board game would be better. Maybe Mia would be able to play the game with them once she was done washing up. He thought that would make Fawn happy.

(Karaoke? Lol no need to apologize I totally understand! xD )

Mia took a bit of time, washing herself thoroughly and watching at the bruises that brute had left all over her body. They were not that bad though, not as she had imagined they would be. Surely, because of Tome's magic. It still amazed her. It had been so... magical, even if the word seemed to be a pleonasm itself. How could she even stop herself from watching him in awe? It had been one of the most fascinating things she had ever gotten to see. After a while, she finally got out from the bathroom, her hair still slightly wet but no enough to be dripping.

When Fawn was settled and Tome went upstairs to look for the board game, Mia came out before he could get it and he pulled it down as she was walking to her room. He glanced behind him to see it was her, then held up the game for her to see. ". . . Fawn wanted to play a game. If you want to play with us." He had to play of course, even if he was never good at games. He was the only person Fawn could play with.

Mia raised her eyebrow as she eyed the game. Board game, huh? How long had it been since she had played one? She had been pretty good when she was a kid, that is if her parents didn't let her win on purpose, of course "Sounds fun" She looked up at him "I'd love to join you" She declared.

((Karaoke's so much fun :) Ever tried singing Rufus Wainwright's "Hallelujah"? It hurts but its fun xD ))

Tome nodded and let her step by him, then preceded her down the stairs in case she fell. "Are you feeling all right walking?" He asked, glancing back at her as they reached the bottom. "You can sit and rest while we play, but I want to be sure. You really shouldn't be doing so much on your own so soon."
