NPC Characters are listed here.

General Rules (Important, make sure you read)
  1. Do not post in the IC thread before having your character sheet submitted and approved. Approved sheets will receive a like from Hanarei Hanarei if they are accepted.
  2. Any portions on the sheets I put in parenthesis () should be removed. You are free to use parenthesis yourself if you wish.
  3. All characters are all souls (those who live in soul society) and are Shinigami with no exceptions.
  4. For the sake of simplicity, squads share the same role as they do from the Manga/show. Squads 2-13 along with the Kido Corps are available.
  5. Stats should total up to 100%. Consider it your character focus as far as what they know. Academy wise the bare minimum in any particular stat you should have is 10% (meaning you barely passed). Spiritual Pressure should be left as it is (at 100) and will be adjusted as your character becomes stronger in which your % can adjust based on the characters focus.
  6. Kido wise you start off with 1 plus whatever % wise of Kido you have divided by 10 (rounded down). So if you have 60% you have 6+1, 10% you have 1+1. You can have Kido up to number 11 with 10-30%, 21 with 31%-50% and 31 with over 50%.
  7. If you have any questions send me a message either through PMs or on discord and I can help you out.

Stats Info
Zanjutsu - Your character's ability with using their Zanpakuto (using a weapon).
Hakuda - Your character's ability with hand-to-hand combat.
Kido - Your character's ability with Shinigami Spells.
Hoho - Your characters ability with Mobility techniques. Includes things such as Shunpo (flash steps) when your character might get to the point of being able to use it.
Spiritual Pressure - How strong your character is. The higher the number the stronger they are. A small number difference won't matter much but the higher the difference the more one sided it becomes.

Name: Asakura, Torokage
Aliase:
Age: 115
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: (04 / 20)
Squad: 9

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Hetero
Motivation: To be worthy of the family name, to be worthy enough to atone for his predecessor's mistakes.
Relatives:
Toshikage Asakura - Father, deceased
Kagetake Asakura - Oldest Brother, 9th Squad Captain
Kagetsura Asakura - Older Brother, 9th Squad 4th Seat
Kageyomi Asakura - Olderr brother, kido Corps
Personality: How to describe this young man, at least, young in shinigami eyes. He was, and is, the target of much expectation after the brother that came before, he grew as the family intended, strong, artistically talented, and having a pretty face was just the icing upon the already rather decadent cake. like an unbreakable mask this young man keeps a smile upon his face at all times, never breaking, never faltering, even in the most difficult of trails that smile will not waver. Or perhaps it cannot, for the plastered smile may be the only thing hiding a fractured and broken mess of a human being formed by his family so that the status quo can be upheld after a previous failure to hold the reins upon all in the family, the faint resemblance of a human being that was battered and beaten into shape so that the clan can have what they wish from him instead of a young man being born into his own person.

But thats all hypothetical.

His very form reeks of charisma, each movement strives to be done with grace, each task dealt with until it is perfect, to do less wouldn't be acceptable, you know? Due to his perfectionist ideal, his general physical beauty and role as a model student generally gives him a air of superiority, though he still does have his specialties he has a reputation amongst those who know for being in general rather handsome and a generally attractive person.

Backstory:
688px-Japanese_Crest_mitumori_mokkou.svg.png

The youngest brother amongst 4, after the "failure" that was the third brother, with his father dead and gone if fell to the brothers to carry the legacy, while the third had been a larger disappointment Torokage was put on the straight and narrow from the moment he was able to grasp a sword. Misbehavior was not only discouraged, but forbidden, he spent his childhood, and a god damn long one at that, attending to the arts, the sword, kido, and every other shinigami art as needed to better placate his father and family.

Due to this he was extremely well prepared for the academy, at least when it came to zanjutsu, the others he was at a middling performance save kido, but due to the third brother he was largely kept out of kido training outside of his academy work. And the worry of drawing the ire of a noble family was more than enough to stave off any teacher who saught to fail him. So on paper, he was average in that aspect. However, in his clan's speacialties he was outstanding amongst his peers, only trumped by those who truly, truly dedicated themselves to the craft.

But now, he was amongst his family and peers in squad 9, as his father wished, as his brothers wanted, but was he happy? Was he truely free from the yoke of his family ties? In truth, the mask he wore never broke, he regarded his graduation and acceptance with a slight smile that always graced his face. Unchanging and forever the same, perhaps the pain never ends?

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
His lithe form belies great strength, with great skill with his sword he strikes down enemies with predictive parries and striking back once the guard has been broken. he aims to complete each battle as quickly as he can and with no loss, to end a problem before it begins, clean and concisely. Against strikes he cannot parry, he will match blow for blow, if an enemy is to quick to defend against, he shall use that speed to his advantage. If the enemy has an infallible defense, he will find a way to slip past with quick precise strikes, a shield is no use if the body that wield's it lacks for blood, or perhaps allow the terrain to do the work for him.

And if need be, he had some training towards hoho to clear distances.

Weaknesses
Due to his biased training, he has little training when it comes to kido and solely focuses on others when it comes to such, to say he is a glorified squad 11 butcher is not truly to far off. He also becomes rather focused on a target when a battle gets going, not stopping until that one is dealt with and becoming quite... Disappointed.. if pulled off that target. he also has little in the way of long ranged options.

Name: Kaoru Tsujimoto
Aliase: Gaoru (Gao is a growl in Japanese), Little Tsuji.
Age: 123
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: 05/14
Squad: Squad 9

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Straight
Motivation: Kaoru's motivation is her brother and her goal is to use her strength to protect the innocent.
Relatives: Makiro Tsujimoto, Captain of Squad 6.
Personality: Kaoru is a laid back, yet confident Soul Reaper. She's friendly, a little energetic at times, and prone to crass jokes, but she's got a good heart. Despite all this, there is one thing she takes very seriously; defending the innocent.
Backstory: Kaoru Tsujimoto, like her brother, was born in Arashimachi, 77th District, North Rukongai. There was a lot of violent gang activity in the area which forced her to learn some nasty life lessons at a young age. It didn't take her long to realize that she would either have to be one of those people who gets pushed around or someone who has the bravery and strength to stand up for themselves. For Kaoru, there was no question. She taught herself how to fight and learned slight of hand through necessity. For quite a while, she was the one responsible for not only keeping her family safe, but fed as well, being the second oldest of a large, poverty stricken family. Her older brother for most of this early part of her life was part of one of those gangs. As such, their relationship was strained, but this also meant that the gang went easier on their family to begin with, which gave Kaoru the chance to grow up to a point where she could actually take care of the family. It wasn't until much later that Kaoru learned the true reasons for Maki's involvement. He wanted to keep their family safe as well, and was trying to understand what drove the gangs to do such violent things. When the time came, he made a move that fully restored Kaoru's trust in him and even caused her to look up to him. He joined the Soul Reapers.

It wasn't until her brother was accepted into the academy and was becoming a big name in his class that Kaoru started looking into becoming a Soul Reaper herself, though. She had a big desire to follow in her brother's footsteps, but it took her longer to make the final decision. At the end of the day, what she cared about most was protecting the innocent, and she wasn't sure if being a Soul Reaper would tie her up in the internal politics of things, thus preventing her from achieving her goals as best she could. Eventually she did decide to join the academy and go through training, because that would only make her stronger, but her priorities did not change. While she believes in the Soul Reaper cause, she will bend the rules and be a bit of a rebel if it means protecting an innocent.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
Kaoru is mostly close, to a mid-range fighter. Kaoru is aggressive and crafty. Unlike her brother, her hand-to-hand combat (hakudo) is strong along with her sword skills, for her level of training at least. She is great at improvising weapons as well. Where she is lacking and still needs work is on her flash step and kidou.

Weaknesses
Kaoru's biggest weakness is her overconfidence. The idea that she can save anybody if she puts her mind to it. While this can be a good trait, it can become dangerous to her if taken too far. Although working on it, her kidou is currently lacking as well as her flash step. Ranged attacks aren't her strong suit, either. She likes to get in close. The only thing resembling a ranged attack she can use is her shikai ability.

Katsura.Kotaro.full.1517082.jpg
Name:
Kageyomi Asakura
Aliase:
Third Young Master; Disappointment of the Asakura Family; Yomi
Age:
146
Gender:
Male
Date of Birth:
07/05
Squad:
Kidō Corps

PERSONAL
Sexuality
:
Heterosexual
Motivation:
The sole motivation behind Yomi's serving in the Kido Corps is actually the very slight sense of duty he has due to the teachings received in the academy coupled with how he feels fairly indebt with the Seireitei for raising him through his very long childhood - something that ultimately convinced him into joining the corps in spite of how listless he is.
Relatives:
Toshikage Asakura - Father, deceased
Kagetake Asakura - Oldest Brother, 9th Squad Captain
Kagetsura Asakura - Older Brother, 9th Squad 4th Seat
Torokage Asakura - Younger brother, 9th Squad
Personality:
Yomi is, to say the least, a person with a personality that can be perfectly described by the word bland. Even though he is indeed quite the pleasant looking individual and still has the refined mannerisms of a noble, the fact is that he not only he has a quiet and nonchalant attitude that easily make people feel that he's distant from the other members of his squad - something that he more than proves by often behaving standoffish to the point of being seemingly apathetic in nature and trying to isolate himself from his peers - but he also seems to fundamentally dislike putting any effort into anything, hardly getting involved with social activities and having natural tendency of avoiding doing anything slightly bothersome, having earned the reputation of being extremely lazy and far from reliable amongst his peers.

In fact, though, his own position is more than enough to prove that Yomi is far from being unreliable: Even though even in the rare situation where he does get involved in missions or similar matters Yomi still shows little to no regard for his companions, he does indeed hold the capacity of directly acting to finish the assignment in the cleanest way possible, being exceedingly capable in spite of how he behaves normally and showing quite the absurd capacity when it comes to effectively completing assignment due to how he does not mind manipulating others nor concerning himself with sacrificing a pawn as long as they help obtain his goal. As a matter of fact, this behaviour as well aa most of the extreme flaws in Yomi's personality are a direct result of the abnormal mindset drilled into him by his father, twisting him into an individual that thinks that life is naught but constantly struggling to gain advantage and every single person only cares about this, leaving him no choice but to see everyone around him as potential tools or people who want to use him.

Deep down his heart, Yomi is hardly as apathetic as his actions display, actually having a hidden affection for his associates as, in spite of how he sees some of them as pawns, he seems to genuinely care about a few of the people he has befriended, proving that he may not be too entirely jaded in his views. Even then, Yomi is still somehow awkward when it comes to openly expressing his feelings even in front of those he actually regards as friends - favouring a mask of indifference in place of actively interacting with others - and appears to be extremely apprehensive when it comes to actively getting attached people, deeply fearing the result that actively forming a deep emotional bond with someone may bring - especially if they end up confirming his father's words at some point.

Backstory:
Born as the third son of the well known Asakura family, Yomi was, from the very start, a failure. Being a fairly quiet and passive child from the beginning and failing to demonstrate any of the natural talent or charisma possessed by his older brothers, Yomi had always been the focus of his father's disappointments, failing to meet every single standard he summarily defined for him and directly resisting his father's dominance more than once, it wasn't even unexpected that he received the brand of a useless person and received naught but scorn from his father and brothers alike.

This kind of lifestyle would only come to a stop with the birth of his younger brother, who ultimately saved him from the burden of having to receive his father's attention due to his sheer brilliance. Finally having the golden boy that he always yearned for, it was obvious that his father didn't have the time to care for the useless third son anymore, focusing his whole attention on raising Torokage as his successor and finally leaving Kageyomi alone to think by himself after almost fourty years of constant pressuring.

Left on his own, Yomi lived a relatively tranquil life for the next hundred years, quietly spending most of his time secluded in his courtyard, free to follow his own goal yet still unable to relate to others due to his father's disturbed mindset twisting his formerly timidity into an innate incapacity to trust others. It was only roughly a hundred years later that Yomi decided to, together with his younger brother, finally join the academy - though this "finally" was actually pretty early, since he joined around the standard age for people born in the soul society - directly heading to the Kido Corps and voicing his intent of joining It - a bold move that surprisingly actually worked, as the boy previously seem as useless third son of the Asakura family ended up demonstrating an uniquely powerful talent when it came to Kido alone. Having ultimately earned an entrance to the corps, it wasn't a surprise that Yomi managed to graduate in spite of his poor results in other subjects and ultimately joined the corps as a fully fledged kido user.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
Yomi is fundamentally a traditional Kido user when it comes to combat, focusing mostly on restricting his enemies moves with Bakudo and directly bombarding them with Hado from safe distances once this is done. As such, he takes a more tactical approach than most shinigami when it comes to fighting, mostly focusing on keeping some fair distance between himself and his enemy and reading the timing of the battle to calculate the optimal time to start chanting and release his abilities.

Weaknesses
Being mostly focused on Kido based combat, Yomi has a remarkably poor ability when it comes to handling close combat and hardly has enough mastery over hoho to easily distance himself from his enemies once they manage to encroach him. Additionally, his focus on reading the other party's intentions to optimize the timing of his attacks and defenses makes it so he reacts poorly against enemies who mostly focus on moving instinctively, without any proper pattern for him to read.

Name: Gima, Rio
Aliase: N/A
Age: Eighty
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: (6/19)
Squad: Kido Corps

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Straight
Motivation: Rio’s motivation is to become an upstanding member of the Soul Society in general. She wishes to conserve the law and order within the society she is a part of, to do her part in keeping balance and equity.

Relatives: None. Rio was never adopted into any families, and the closest thing to a ‘family’ she has is the people she grew up with in the Rukongai.

Personality: Simply put, Rio is a punctual, decisive, and sometimes indifferent individual. She strives for perfection in everything she does, unable to feel remotely satisfied until she knows that task is accomplished as intended. She puts work before play, though honestly, she wouldn’t know how to have ‘fun’ if it slapped her in the face. She is serious, and definitely doesn’t know how to take a joke or when someone is being sarcastic towards her. She simply judges things at face value - perhaps it is naive, but she believes what others say to her until they give her a solid reason to doubt them. Despite her seriousness, Rio is far from being the ‘cold and calculating’ type that her apathy sometimes makes her out to be. She doesn’t hate anyone - she simply doesn’t care about what others are doing, so long as it doesn’t interfere with her own growth and so long as they aren’t causing any major harm or disturbance. Rio is also brave - or rather, she takes her role seriously enough that her own personal well being is irrelevant when she has a job to do. Secretly, Rio likes receiving attention and affection, though she deems such things as a waste of time and thus tries not to seek either out. Still give her a pat on the head or a nod of approval and you just might coax a rare smile from the girl.

Backstory: Before she entered the academy, Rio was a nobody with nothing. Just one of many ‘orphans’ of the Rukongai, from the uneventful 40th District. Rio was never mistreated there - she was simply ignored. A ghost. Unloved, unseen, and uncared for. She didn’t cause any trouble, didn’t steal or cause a ruckus, didn’t do anything to stand out in any way… why would she? What was the purpose? What was HER purpose? That was what she began to wonder. Simply drifting from place to place, alley to alley, street to street, without a goal or dream; It felt like such a waste. And so, she looked for a purpose, and there was only one reason for existing she could fathom - she needed to become a stronger so she could become useful.

So, she devoted herself to that, even at such a young age. Age was just a number, after all. She devoted herself to her goal, and with enough training and focus, she managed to land herself in the academy. She was driven in everything she did, and hung onto every word and command the teachers provided her with. She lived and breathed solely for the academy, and because of this, she did well there. Making ‘friends’ or ‘goofing off’ were never even thoughts that crossed her mind.

And, finally, her hard work paid off, and she found herself recruited into the ranks of the Kido Corps due to her proficiency in using Kido.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
Rio replies heavily on speed and her skill with Kido in battle; Her small stature, after all, doesn’t allow her to even CONSIDER depending on strength. She moves like a hummingbird; Unpredictable, delicate, and with grace. Her primary goal in battle is to avoid contact with the enemy while using her proficiency with Kido to immobilize or destroy the target.

Weaknesses
Physically, Rio is exceedingly weak, and she has little endurance. Because of this, her skill in Hakuda is essentially null, and she has a lot to learn as far as Zanjutsu goes. Her abilities work best when in a team of at least one other person, so when fighting alone, Rio is at a disadvantage until she learns more powerful skills.

Name: Natsumi Yamanishi
Aliase: Sumi
Age: 108
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: June 15th
Squad: 3

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Heterosexual
Motivation: To serve the greater good while promoting her family's name.
Relatives:
Masami Yamanishi - Father
Chikako Yamanishi - Mother
Personality: Natsumi is a very 'right to the point' type of person. She often focuses on facts attempting to very much act by the books as much as possible. She is very honest to a fault, willing to tell people things they might not like to hear being much more inclined to stay silent over attempting to tell a lie which she strongly opposes doing. She tends to not mean any ilwill towards anyone being generally caring even if it comes off in a rude way at times. She tends to do her best thinking things ahead and planning for it over simply improvising on the spot. She is very intelligent having scored remarkably well in the academy. She is very much about organization, liking to keep things tidy for the sake of being much more efficient.

While performing well in the academy and being viewed as a promising Shinigami, Natsumi tends to have a deep seeded lack of self confidence. She harbors doubts about herself that quietly gnaws on her psyche. She keeps a stoic appearance though she can easily succumb to embarrassment when complimented or tease making her fumble a bit on her own words. While she isn't one to be very defensive over herself, she is very protective of her family name being quick to berate anyone who might insult it despite its low standings in the Seireitei. She feels the need to prove herself in order to try and improve the name of her clan and to restore the honor they had long since seemed to have lost.

Backstory: Natsumi was born the only child to Masami and Chikako as part of the Yamanishi clan. Her family was considered nobles though barely holding onto such a title having long since lost its reputation nearly a thousand years ago with the exile of a Great Uncle who had committed horrid acts against Soul Society and in particular the Asakura clan. While her clan was allowed to persist, the event had stained her family, and effect that still persists to this day being practically exiled stopping just short of being forced out of the Seireitei. Natsumi was raised in relatively poor conditions compared to a typical clan in the Seireitei, though compared to the Rakongai Districts most would still view it as luxurious.

Unlike many of the other families she grew up being the only child having few of her own age to be around given the stigma of her family's name. Despite lacking children around her age her parents helped to fill the void giving her a lot of attention and being warm and caring parents. She found most of her personal fun by engaging in reading books. She felt a great sense of excitement in learning about the world. It fueled her desire to read more and more and hoping she might one day experience places she only read about in the texts. Learning of the Shinigami it made the choice much easier for her in what she wanted to do. She saw becoming a Shinigami her best chance not only to see the world but also to use it to work to repair her family's image and regain the honor it had long since lost.

Entering the academy Natsumi quickly found herself overwhelmed at first. Being much more focused on books she had been woefully unprepared compared to some others in learning to become a shinigami particularly with the physical training. Not wanting to fail at becoming a shinigami, she worked hard to better adapt to the academy. While she was never the best at any area in the academy, she managed to get high scores in all the fields putting her as one of the top in her class. She found herself suffering some ire from some students from Seireitei who viewed her for her family name. It had left her rather uneasy having many who wished nothing good of herself, though fortunately not everyone was like that. She managed to find many more who came from the Rukongai who care less about the reputation of her family who were more then willing to be on friendly terms with her.

Natsumi managed to graduate with high marks as a top student of her class. While her marks did well to make her more appealing to the squads, her lack of a clear focus alongside her family's bad reputation left her with less options then she would normally get. She had learned many Shinigami didn't tend to bog themselves down upon family name as much as being able to do their job. She set off in what was the first major step to do her family right and make a name for herself as a Shinigami.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
Natsumi is primarily focused upon being tactical in a fight usually revolving around having a plan of action and sticking with it. She is general average over all, though she prefers mid to long range combat using her Zanpakuto to attack and creating a gap in order to catch an opponent off guard. Natsumi tends to lean towards a more defensive style of fighting attempting to get an opponent to make a misstep for her to capitalize on and exploit to her benefit.

Weaknesses
Natsumi in general is very average across the board. While she has more of a grasp on Kido then many, she isn't exceptionally skilled at it either. She can be very susceptible to being overwhelmed by an opponent giving her no time to plan and react to what they are doing. She has a tendency to doubt herself often electing her to take less risky actions in a fight that she thinks she might not be able to properly accomplish.

Name: Rine Delani
Aliase: Riri
Age: 107
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: July 4th
Squad: 11, maybe 2, idk for sure yet

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Bisexual
Motivation: Change. The soul society works so hard to protect the world of the living, and yet they can’t devote any time to help the lives of the poor souls outside of their own walls. Rine plans to become a captain one day so she can have enough influence to make the changes needed to make life better for those living in Rukongai. In general, all Rine wants is to be able to make an impact on the world, and make it better.
Relatives:
Mother - Soul living in Rukongai
Younger Sister - Soul living in Rukongai
Personality: Without a doubt, Rine keeps up a pretty relaxed front. She does her best to show very little care for everything that happens around her, giving only brief and uncaring reactions to something that would normally call for something greater. In reality, Rine works to catch up to and surpass her peers. She is dead set on accomplishing her goals, and takes any option that will help her reach it. Rine is a bit of a sadist, enjoying the fact she can make her enemies feel pain. She doesn’t want her allies to get hurt, for those who help her towards her goal are not to be left behind or forgotten.

Some say Rine’s a masochist in combat, but Rine just says that getting hurt helps her learn and improve, so she enjoys knowing that the pain will make her better. But in truth, she’s a masochist. When Rine isn’t threatening to slice up her friends, she’s been known to be a bit of a flirt. She considers herself to be pretty good looking, and wears her shinigami uniform a bit more open than most. Getting other shinigami to react her antics and playful threats always manages to get a laugh out of her. Rine doesn’t take her free time for granted, and never turns down a chance to have a little fun. Life is too long to make it boring.

Backstory: Rine began her life as a soul in District 7 of Rukongai, Kodokuna. It was a nice district, being neither too rich nor too poor. Rine’s adoptive mother and adopted younger sister were both extremely nice and well mannered women who always tried to give Rine the best. However, Rine was never interested in what was best for her. Rine liked to start fights with some of the folks in her district, often landing her in trouble with the residents. More than once was she seen starting said fights by passing groups of shinigami, and thoroughly beaten for causing trouble. Rine hated the shinigami for punishing her. It wasn’t her fault that those damn people made fun of her for being so ‘different’. Her adopted family wasn’t fond of Rine’s behavior, but showed her love regardless. They tried to help Rine get over her bad behavior, but were unsuccessful. Rine was too busy trying to have fun and cause trouble to pay much attention to either of them. Eventually, however, Rine’s antics were no longer tolerated in District 7. She and he family were forcibly moved to District 77, where the standard of living was abysmally low compared to their old home. Rine’s mother and sister were broken emotionally. The home and safety they had known for nearly a century had been taken from them, and they were thrust into a place of danger and lawlessness. The two rarely left their home, relying on Rine to bring them everything they needed to survive. Rine was more than happy to help, knowing it was her fault that they were like this now. She joined in on all the stealing going on to try and provide enough for her mother and sister, but it wasn’t enough. The only people in the district who had plenty to get by were the various gangs running amok. Rine set her eyes on said gangs, looking for a way in.

It was easier than she thought. Rine found a group of lowlives loitering in front of a store and asked if she could join their gang. They laughed, and told her that if she could bring them the head of gang boss Yakaho, she could join them. They were certain she couldn’t accomplish such a feat. Yakaho was the leader of the biggest gang in town! To their surprise Rine shrugged, and agreed.

Seven days later, Rine found Yakaho passed out in a woman’s bedroom on the edge of the District. For once, he wasn’t surrounded by his goons. Rine took the opportunity, and slipped in through s window. With a katana she found lying in the room, she sliced off the man’s head in two strikes. The first killed him but made a bloody mess, and the second popped his head off. Rine took the head and disappeared into the night, leaving one headless man behind.

Joining the gang was a success. Hell, those brutes loved her after that. She was practically their queen! With the death of the gang boss, Rine’s gang was able to expand their influence, or whatever that meant. Rine didn’t understand it. All she knew was that she got to help them jump people every now and then and she got to take as much stuff home to her mother and sister as needed. It wasn’t a bad deal, until the shinigami decided that cleaning up the streets wasn’t such an issue anymore.

One day, while Rine was loitering about with her gang of hooligans, a small group of shinigami approached them, demanding that Rine submit herself to them to be arrested. Apparently she had been seen leaving a building with a severed head a month or so back, connecting her directly to Yakaho’s murder. Rine decided not go along with the shinigami, and turn tail instead. Rine sprinted through the streets, trying to escape the shinigami, but was quickly caught by a knee to her gut. Then, another one of them used some sort of magic on her to tie her hands behind her back! It was kinky, but Rine didn't want anything to do with the damn shinigami! As Rine was carried off, she made sure that her friendly gangsters promised to take care if her mother and sister, because if she came back and heard otherwise, she’d slice their crotches open! They were happy to oblige. They weren’t ‘that’ terrible of a gang.

Rine was imprisoned within Sereitei. When she was questioned on why she did the things that she did, she answered truthfully. Rine explained how she came to District 77, and how she had to help her mother and sister go on living. Killing a man wasn’t beyond her to keep her family alive in such a terrible place. Rine then proceeded to berate the interrogator, letting him know exactly how she felt about allowing for such a difference in the standards of living of the districts, and how such rampant crime was nearly ignored. Rine was left alone after that for a week, only getting to talk to some shy shinigami who said he was from squad 4 or something.

Rine was woken up one morning by a young girl in a shinigami outfit covered by a white coat. She looked like a child, yet she was a shinigami. Rine was impressed. The girl asked Rine if she wanted to be a shinigami to atone for her crimes. Rine shrugged, agreeing casually. It was better than sitting in some damn cell, how hard could it be? Rine was confused though. Why ask a criminal to be a shinigami, she asked the young girl. The girl responded happily, saying she liked her spirit and resolve to do whatever it takes for her loved ones! Rine chuckled at that statement. She was just trying to make things better for those whose lives she ruined.

The academy sucked. Rine was a poor excuse for a shinigami. She was bad at Zanjutsu, Hakudo, and Kido. All she could well was run fast. People made fun of her, calling her names from ‘low-born trash’ to ‘A wasted second chance’. Rine ignored it the best she could, and focused on what she did best. Threats and intimidation did well to keep people away from her, whether they be hostile or friendly for that matter. It made Rine’s academy life quite isolated, but Rine preferred it that way. It helped make it easy for her to not get in any fights that would get her kicked out, and end her quest for change early. Rine had returned home a couple of times to keep her family updated on her progress, but her family still didn’t seem to care about much at all. Their depression was too great. The boys in her gang got a big laugh seeing her in the academy get-up. Rine laughed right alone with them, because she knew she looked silly. But one day she’d be a captain like that little girl, and make it so those thugs and her family could live better and safer lives like the one she refused to live before. Then no one would worry about all the bad things she did to get to where she was.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style
Rine tries to use her speed to win fights. Being a member of the stealth force, Rine has been working to use stealth and surprise attacks to her advantage. Rine can hide her spiritual pressure to a degree, but hasn’t been very successful. She will use a couple distracting kido to help her get in a strike if the enemy can keep up with her. She’s pretty good at dodging attacks, but isn’t a defensive fighter in the slightest. She’s always been crafty, and is willing to fight even dirtier if her surprise attacks don’t work. Rine likes to distance herself from her opponents before swooping in for a strike. Whether the strike lands or not, Rine normally retreats afterwards to avoid a direct fight. The faster the fight ends, the better off she is.

Weaknesses
If Rine’s speed doesn’t give her the edge in combat, because her opponent is either faster than her or reacts fast enough, then Rine can’t do much. Her swordplay isn’t very refined, nor is her kido worth much either. If you find a way to shut down her speed, her options are severely limited because she can’t keep up in close combat for more than a few moments. Rine is also quick to forgo any sort of plan put together, and just fight like she’s in a brawl despite her weaknesses. She likes to taunt and mess with her opponents, which in turn draws out the fight. The opposite of what she needs at her skill level.

Fujiwara Natsume - Mother
Fujiwara Kenjuro - Uncle, Younger Brother of his Father, former 5th Division Vice-Captain, deceased
Fujiwara Seiken - Younger Brother
Fujiwara Natsuki - Younger Sister
Fujiwara Seisuke - Younger Brother

Personality:

Outwardly shows a flippant behavior towards everything, and rarely takes anything seriously. Hence, he is commonly referred to as "The Fool of Fujiwara". Though most of it is just a front, or an act, so that he isn't perceived as a threat and have everyone lower their guard around him. He is cunning. In his private moments, or if the situation calls for it, he is able to show some tact and sharpness. Though he is a perceptive and insightful person, he is often hindered by his cockiness and pride. His attitude also rubs people the wrong way, and in most cases, he is seen as a disrespectful upstart. He often has no regard for others, and can be very self-centered, when he sets his mind on something.

Backstory:

The Fujiwara is a large and prestigious clan well-known for a few things: They were caretakers of various holy shrines and sites in Soul Society, well-versed in architecture, and they have produced a number of noteworthy shinigami that have served the Gotei 13.

This lead to a strict, and stern upbringing for children born to the Fujiwara clan. They were expected to be men and women of culture, and great ability. Seijuro was no exception, and this was exponentially true for him as he was the clan's heir.

Even though he was the heir of the prestigious Fujiwara clan, he preferred hanging out with people from Rukongai, and was friends with a rowdy group of boys. Many from the clan saw him as a brash and unruly brat, a fool. This was when a lot of people started calling him "the Fool of the Fujiwara". Though many of his clansmen saw him as a disappointment, including his father, there were a few people that saw talent and brilliance in him. One was his mother, and another was his uncle, Fujiwara Kenjuro who at the time was the vice-captain of the 5th Division. They were probably one of the few people that were able to see his true nature. Kenjuro was often ridiculed within the clan for it.

His juvenile tendencies continued even during his days at the academy, where he would hang out with an unsavory group of people that were mostly perceived as thugs. It was almost a foregone conclusion that he was going to be a run-of-the-mill 11th Division grunt, that would further shame his clan. There was a clamor within the Fujiwara to skip over him as the clan's successor in favor of his younger brother.

His demeanor changed when his uncle died in battle. Suddenly, one of his most ardent supporters and cherished people was gone. Something inside him snapped. He wanted to prove that his uncle was right to believe in him, and that his uncle was the wisest of them all. It was then that his ambition to become the greatest shinigami started to form.

In a short time, he progressed quickly, and surprisingly became one of the academy's top students. Though he would still hang out with the same group at times, his peers saw him in a different light. He started to develop a fervor and zeal when going after his ambition, something that he tries to conceal. After his academy years, he joined with the 5th Division to honor his uncle.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style

Though he is a capable all-rounder, he prefers to fight at a distance, strategically trying to pick apart his opponent's weaknesses with his mobility and versatility. But if push comes to shove, he's able to throw down at close range. He approaches fights cautiously, and would often test or feel out his opponents to see their capabilities, or try to tire them out if possible. Once he's certain he's able to beat the opponent, he goes all out without a shred of restraint. He will not hesitate to retreat and regroup if he feels he is overmatched.

Weaknesses

He will often drop his guard if he thinks his opponent is not a match for him, and can be careless when he underestimates his opponent. The reason he conserves his strength, and tries to win in one fell swoop is because his zanpakuto's release tires him out fast. Though he is skilled and quick, he isn't particularly strong.

Aomine.Daiki.full.1808251.jpg
Name: Ryoto Sano
Aliase: None
Age: 91
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: 9/22
Squad: 11

PERSONAL
Sexuality
: Heterosexual
Motivation: Acquisition of strength.
Relatives:
Raised by a poor family living in the Rukon 55th District. Mother and Father are still alive as are his brother and sister, although he hasn't seen them for years and is quite distant.
Personality:
Ryoto is laid back and aloof. His air almost meditative in its apathy towards the outside world as his energy focuses within, towards personal enrichment and empowerment. A stoic stillness shrouds Ryoto, like the pitched darkness of a cloud covered night.

He is laconic and speaks when needed and in short form, erring away from monologues and conversational dominance, caring little for the manners and rules of conversation.

This meditative persona, usually one adopted by people of good moral fibre, covers a dark, violent and selfish streak. One that gives Ryoto a thorough enjoyment of battle and dominance over an opponent.

Intertwined with his violent aspects is a passion for self improvement, in the field of battle more than any other. For him, surpassing his peers is very important, and because of this the acquisition of power is at the forefront of his mind. This makes him corrupt-able, hollow like in a sense, vulnerable to a darker path to fill a void within.

Despite being self centered and dark, he's particularly straightforward and tends to be honest with others. This carries to his fighting style which is incredibly quick, straight up and skill based, relying on talent rather than the sense of battle that more tactical fighters display.

His stoicism helps him in tight situations and allows him to maintain his cool when times are tough, however it also makes him a crap empath, with little emotional intelligence or ability to relate to others.

He finds most people tolerable, but does prefer the solitude of his training, which he engages in quite often, being motivated to achieve greater power.

However, while motivated in his pursuit of strength, he can be quite lazy when it comes to other pursuits and finds the tedium of some of his duties irritating.

Backstory: Ryoto was raised in the Rukon 55th West District, a place of poverty and crime.

His family was average, scraping by, struggling to put food on the table and failing to provide the young Ryoto with anything in the way of an education or future.

His nagging mother and irate father drove him away over his childhood and his overly optimistic sister and his simple minded brother annoyed him endlessly, driving him away as well.

As a result of these frustrations, by the time Ryoto reached young adult-hood he wished nothing more than separation from the small Sano clan.

Atop his perpetual irritation and avoidance of his family, his life outside the home was marked by the malaise of drudgery, lacking in meaning or notable event.

Without the meaning, eventfulness, or power that Ryoto desired deep within, he dabbled in crime as a way of escapism and as a source of income. His petty theivary and corner scams went unchecked for years in the poorly policed 55th, but eventually Ryoto's luck would run dry with a failed robbery attempt on a cold Fall night.

On the 27th of November, a few decades prior to now, Ryoto and his band of theives jumped a shrouded figure walking through an alley in the dead of night. Unknown to the gang, the figure was a Seated Shinigami of the 11th Division who was headed to visit family in the outer districts.

During the "fight" Ryoto was the only member of his gang that was not immediately incapacitated by the Shinigami. Furthermore, the street brawling criminal was even able to land several glancing blows on the officer, forcing the soul reaper to draw his blade, a sign that the Shinigami was taking the battle seriously, or at least taking it seriously enough to withdraw his Zanpakuto.

After a couple minutes of fighting against the now armed officer, the senior Shinigami was the clear winner, having landed many strikes to Ryoto's handful.

However, the criminal still stood. Battered, bloodied and weak he stood with his fists raised, determined to win, the ferocity in his eyes burning as flame in furnace.

His unwavering commitment to the fight, although foolish, greatly impressed the 11th division member, and for his strength and gall in the face of a superior opponent, the soul reaper offered Ryoto an opportunity to become a soul reaper, a path to the 11th division set, where Ryoto's hardiness and passion for a fight would shine through.

Knowing that life as a soul reaper was far better than life in the 55th, Ryoto accepted the offer with little hesitation, knowing how valuable such a prestigious career could be.

Ryoto awoke the next day bandaged a bruised, but smiling widely at his profound luck, knowing that if he trained hard, his mealticket was punched and a path to great power would be found.

A week later, once wounds had healed, Ryoto made his way to the center of the soul society, beginning his training there, his entrance to the academy a form of sponsorship by the 11th division officer that Ryoto had battled.

Once in the academy, Ryoto displayed excellent hand to hand combat skills and attuned physical ability, yet with a blade he was but average, dead center of the pack.

Where his downfall lay was with Kido. For Ryoto lacked natural aptitude and the drive to learn spell forms. Though he would push through, and by final testing his spellwork was sufficient for graduation, and whatever fatal shortcomings he possessed in the astral arts were covered by physical proficiency.

COMBAT

General Fighting Style

Ryoto is a close range brawler that uses his body as a weapon as much as his Zanpakuto. Much of his fighting style comes from his upbringing in a poor, violent part of the Rukon district, being an improvisational and direct fighter that sometimes resorts to slight of hand, trickery and below the belt tactics if it means a win.

He is incredibly acrobatic, using verticallity and speed to his advantage along with utilizing the environment around him to great effect.

He is straight to the point, skewing offensively, and attempts to push the pace to make his opponent uncomfortable and off balance.

He prefers using his fists, thriving as a stand up fighter, but is well versed in submission tactics and kicking techniques, not shying away from any school of martial arts, his aim to be the most well rounded fighter possible.

Weaknesses
Ryoto has no long range capabilities and skews offensively, being capable on the defensive but not outstanding. His best play against a ranged fighter is evasion and then quick movement to close the gap, but against a fast, evasive ranged fighter he can be hard countered.
