Bittersweet Revenge

Cambree looked up at Slader and took in a breath. She nodded slightly and grinned a little bit when he ran a hand over her stomach.

She kissed him back and then grinned. It was nice to hear the reassurance. "Okay," She agreed quietly.

She took his hand and followed him into the kitchen, grinning when he grabbed them chips and soda. Food fixed everything.

She followed him to the couch and giggled when he pulled her on top of him. "You're a dork," She teased him, putting her arms around his neck,"You're the sexy one here." She winked at him and then smiled. "What are we watching?" She asked, turning her head towards the TV which she was pretty sure she might've accidentally left on before going off to do her own thing.

"Uh I dunno," Slader replied as he gently placed his hand on her cheek to turn her attention back to him. He pulled her down, kissing her again.

His hand ran down the curves if her side and hips and back up again. "I still think you're perfect. Don't worry about this," he pointed to the baby. "It'll be out before you know it."

Cambree turned her attention back to Slader and grinned before kissing him again.

She smiled at his words and then shook her head a little bit,"Yeah, I know. That's the scary part," She pointed out. It'd already been four months which meant she only had five more to go and she could have swore that just yesterday she'd found out that she was pregnant in the first place.

Shrugging, Slader traced a finger over her slightly swollen belly. "It'll be okay. You've got plenty of help," he whispered.

Gently, he lay Cambree down beside him and curled his body around her back. He honestly was freaking out about the whole kids thing too, but he sought comfort in being near her. It calmed him down.

Cambree grinned a little bit at his words, looking down at her belly.

She laid down comfortable on the couch and looked in the direction of the TV. "I couldn't do this without you," She told him quietly after a few minutes,"You mean pretty much everything to me."

She'd never said that before. She'd never even told him that she loved him. She did though, and she thought that maybe he knew that. She'd never been too concerned with him saying it to her though. He was here and she was fine with just that fact alone. She didn't want to do this all by herself and wasn't looking to complicate the situation.

"Thank you," Slader mumbled into her hair before closing his eyes, a bit tired from everything.

He had just graduated. Then, he told his dad that he was moving out. Of course, his dad could care less and let him. The two of them moved in together. Her parents were less than thrilled, but he didn't care. Dean hates his guts (understandably) and his alcohol issue was getting worse. He felt like everything was spiraling out if control and it terrified him.

Cambree wasn't really sure how to feel about how things were going.

She'd finally told her friends that she was pregnant and although Carly seemed to support her, she suspected that she was talking shit behind her back to everyone else because she'd cheated and all. It was a hell of a scandal. Dean hated her too but he'd still call or text her from time to time. She would've loved to be on good terms with him because they'd spent four years together but every conversation ended in a fight. Above everything though, she was absolutely horrified at the idea of being a mother. She was terrified of something being wrong with her kid or fucking them up while raising them because she didn't know what the hell she was doing.

Slader held Cambree tighter, needing her to be closer. His mind was racing and screaming that he needed needed needed something to drink. He needed it. No you don't you asshole.

He really wanted to stop, for the kids sake. For Cambree's sake. But he didn't know how. "Hey Cam.." He whispered into her hair. "Is everything going to be okay?" His voice cracked a bit and wasn't as tough or rough sounding as usual, which surprised him.

Cambree was snapped out of her thoughts, having heard Slader. It didn't sound like his usual self.

"I.." She began to say quietly,"I don't know.." She wished that she could tell him that it was going to be okay but she had no idea. She didn't know what was going to happen in the future. She wasn't ready for it though, she knew that much. She turned around in his arms so that she could face him and locked eyes with him. "I hope so," She answered him quietly, moving her hand to his cheek where she gently moved her thumb back and forth across it.

Slader nodded, closing his eyes against her touch. "Okay." He could live with it.

"I'm just scared. Like you," he admitted, his fingers moving up to tangle in her hair. "I need to forget it for a while, but that's... That's not good." He continued.

Cambree furrowed her eyebrows a little bit, listening to him. "Then go," She told him quietly,"I'm sure Derek would go out with you."

She hated the idea of encouraging Slader to go out but if it kept him somewhat sane, then so be it. He worked and everything anyways. This wasn't his lifestyle. He wasn't meant to be a dad at 18. He was suppose to still be sleeping around and partying and whatever else he did.

She was scared that if she let him go out, he'd end up falling back into his old ways.

Slader sighed. He didn't want to leave her, but he was going to snap if he stayed. She didn't know this, but he got aggressive when he tried quitting, or didn't give his addiction what it needed.

"I'll be back soon. I'm sorry. Don't be mad." He mumbled before sliding off the couch and out the door.

He got in his truck and drove to Derek's. There were already other people there, like he speculated. It was a Saturday night, after all. Slader got out and walked up to the door, only to be greeted by a drunk off his ass Derek. He grinned, and walked through the doorway.

Cambree nodded a little bit, listening to Slader. She knew that he needed to go and that was fine. It was just where he was. She told him that he didn't need to quit everything when he'd first moved in.

She rolled onto her back and put her hands on her stomach, listening as he left. Well. Now what did she do? She sat up and grabbed the remote then began to flip through all the channels to try and find something to watch. She ended up on a movie channel that was playing a bunch of Disney movies.

Content with that, she got up from the couch and walked to the bedroom and grabbed her phone. She called Pizza Hut while she headed back to the living room and ordered herself a large pizza with stuffed crust and cinnamon sticks. At least she had an excuse to eat whatever she wanted..

A few hours later, Slader was hammered and high as fuck, but driving home. He'd gotten pretty good at driving while under the influence, and only managed to hit the curb five times.

He pulled into their parking space, not so straight though, and staggered upstairs. He used the key and opened the door. She'd probably be asleep since it was like one in the morning, but you never know.

Slader stumbled over to te couch, immediately falling and onto it, laughing as he did. Everything was so blurry.

Cambree watched movies for a few hours until she decided it was time to shower and then head to bed. She had just really fallen asleep when she heard the door open and close, then something being bumped into and laughing. She sighed, knowing that it was Slader.

She opened up her eyes and pulled the covers away from herself, then shuffled out to the living room in her bra and running shorts. "Hey," She mumbled tiredly, looking down at him,"Come on. Let's get you to bed.."

She offered him her hand and furrowed her eyebrows when she saw his keys. "S, you didn't drive, did you?" She asked him. He was obviously fucked up so it would be really stupid of him if he had.

Slader got up as Cambree came into the living room. He nearly fell, but caught himself on the counter. "You look hot," he mumbled lazily.

He screwed up his face when she asked if he had driven home. "Yeah, but I'm alive. Sleep sounds good." He didn't bother to wait for her, he just shuffled toward the bedroom and fell onto the bed.

He then began to cry. For the first time in his life in front of a girl, he cried. " I'm so messed up, Cambree. Fuck fuck fuck," he shoved his drunken face into a pillow.

Cambree sighed softly, running a hand through her hair. She didn't even bother arguing with him on the fact that he'd drove. She'd chew his ass out later for it. She just really cared about him and godforbid he every crashed or something..

She followed him into the bedroom and went to join him but then she heard him start to cry and she almost started to panic. Never ever had she heard him cry or even seen him kind of going to cry.

"Oh, Slader..." She told him softly, walking over to the bed. She sat on the side of the bed and rubbed his back. "No, Slader. You're not... It's okay..."

His tears were silent, but Slader continued to cry until he eventually fell asleep. His body relaxed as he rolled onto his side, instinctively reaching for Cambree, but she was sitting on the side of the bed opposite the way he faced.

"Babe... Come back," he mumbled in his sleep as his arm searched the bed for her. "I'm sorry don't...."

Cambree bit her lip, watching him. She knew he was still crying even after he stopped talking because of the way he breathed. Once he calmed down though, so she stood up and let out a deep breath. She walked over to her side of the bed and sat down on the edge of the bed, looking down. So this is what it was going to be like? She was going to have to be taking care of a newborn baby and a drunk boyfriend who liked drive home intoxicated. How was she suppose to do that? She didn't even know what the hell to do!

She looked over at him when he started to mumble things and bit down on her lip. She wasn't even tired anymore... Her mind was just awake with thoughts.

Slader woke up a few hours later, his eyes bloodshot and head pounding. He noticed his pillow was stained with something wet. Tears. Had he cried? "Ah shit," he mumbled.

"Cambree?" He called out, his eyes barely able to open and look for her. He must've gotten pretty drunk to have this much of a headache. She was probably pissed.

Slader sighed loudly and sat up in bed, his vision went blank for a moment as he did so.

When Cambree decided that she really couldn't sleep, she went out to the living room where she turned on the TV and listened to it on a low volume. Well, really it was just background noise as she cried her eyes out about everything.

She had five months to get her shit together and figure out how she was going to go about all of this. Being a mom with a guy who obviously didn't really want to be a dad. He might say it but she knew that he didn't. Sadly.

After her cry, she grabbed her computer from the coffee table and began googling everything that she could think. Things about preparing for the hospital, what labor was like, what the first month was like, what supplies that positively needed. It was a lot of information. She had a lot to do and it was just proving to her that she wasn't ready for something like this.

She was so wrapped up in it all that she didn't even hear Slader.

After a few moments, Slader decided to go find her himself. He flopped out of bed and got rid of his shirt. He then staggered out toward the living room and found Cambree with her laptop.

"Hey..." He muttered as he went to stand behind her. "I.. Sorry." He felt absolutely horrible both physically and emotionally. This whole mess of a situation was sometimes too much for him.

Cambree looked up when she heard Slader's voice behind her and looked behind her, biting her lip slightly. "It's fine," She told him softly, then moved over on the couch and patted the space next to her for him to join.

"Why are you awake?" She asked him, looking back down to her laptop. It was five in the morning and she'd yet to sleep. She was starting to feel it too. She went along with her googling and typing. Right now she was working on a list of things that they'd need to get for the nursery room.

Slader sighed and sat beside her, glancing over at the screen. Kid stuff. Figured. "Can't sleep. You seem exhausted," he slid his fingers through her hair and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Why don't you sleep? we can continue looking in the morning." He whispered, turning her to face him before he gently kissed the corner of her lips.

"Wouldn't want you to sleep all day." His voice was back to it's usual rough, sexiness. "I'll help."

Cambree turned towards Slader and grinned slightly. "I can't sleep," She told him quietly. She leaned forward and pushed the laptop onto the coffee table before leaning into him.

She didn't want to vent to him about her problems because she figured it would only drive him to drink or party more which she wouldn't be able to handle.

"I'm hungry," She told him simply before getting up and making her way to the kitchen. She rubbed her eyes and opened up the fridge, looking for something to snack on for the time being.
