Mika Sato
1543014691609.png
Some nicknames she has been given include:
-Em
-Cricket
-Leapling

The story behind the nickname 'Em' is fairly simple. When she was younger, she had a friend who'd laugh at her because Mika thought the word 'me' sounded weird. Therefore she started saying 'em' instead of 'me', and the nickname was born.
The story behind the nickname 'Cricket' involves Mika's older brother Lee. Mika talked quite a lot when she was younger; she had a lot to say, and she wanted everyone to hear it. Therefore, she was quite the chatterbox and earned the nickname 'Cricket', since crickets often make a lot of noise. (And as Lee said, because crickets are annoying because they keep you up at night with their noise.)
And here we come to the nickname 'Leapling'. This was given to her by her father when she was born, due to the fact that her birthday is on a leap year.

Mika is a member of the pack, a rather recent one at that.

Mika is biologically female, and her preferred pronouns are she/her.

Although having talked to many people before, Mika has only ever dated two, which were both male. She considers herself straight, but is pretty undecided.

Mika is 19, her birthday rather awkwardly falling on February 29. Her zodiac sign is Pisces, the sign of the fish.

Appearance -
1543015925491.png
This is Mika's appearance once shifted. She has a thick coat, which is coloured black with gold dappled on her back, ears, face, legs, and the the tip of her bushy tail.

Mika has a very curious personality, and is quite possibly one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She enjoys being around others, and affection is something she loves to both give and receive. However, she has her flaws like everyone else. One of those is that she dislikes letting people get close to her, because she's afraid she'll hurt them. Mika has a fierce temper at times, which can cause her to both say and do regrettable things. She hates hurting those around her, and she wishes she could learn to control her emotions at times. She enjoys things such as running, reading interesting books, sharing information, listening to music, and photography. Her dislikes include posing for pictures, being told that her opinion is wrong, arguing over pointless topics, and crying in front of others.

Mika grew up with her mother, father, and older brother Lee. Her mother had an office job in accounting, and her father worked in retail at a popular store out of town. Therefore, it was usually just herself and Lee at the house, since both her parents worked most of the time. Lee and Mika got along pretty well; Lee taught her how to cook, and they played video games together when they had the time. They both loved winter; it was their favourite time of year. Why? Because the snow falling over everything was absolutely beautiful to them. Lee liked to skateboard on the ice in their driveway ("Sure, it's a bit dangerous, but what's life without a little risk?" -Lee), and Mika would go outside and photograph the way the snow covered everything.
However, all siblings have days where they argue. One day, it just happened that they were both in an irritable mood. They bickered incessantly all day, but it never really escalated above snide comments and a few well-placed curse words. Well, at least not until later that night. Mika had just come inside; she'd been outside photographing the icicles and talking to her friend Aiko. Upon her entry into the house, Lee scolded her for not taking off her shoes before coming in, because the floor was now wet with melted snow. Thing is, he didn't exactly say it in a polite way. Mika's anger flared up and she told Lee some choice words, which snowballed the entire argument. From there it only got worse - by the end of it, Lee was shouting at her, and in the heat of the moment, told Mika he wished she'd never been born.
That night, Mika stormed out of the house, so angry she hadn't even bothered to put on a coat, gloves, scarf, anything. She fled into the woods, never bothering to tell anyone where she was going, not even bothering to bring her cell phone with her. She walked for almost an hour straight into the woods, never looking back. At some point, her legs stopped working and she collapsed into the snow, frozen down to the bone. The last thing she remembered seeing was the silhouette of an animal approaching from the shadows, her desperately trying to drag herself away, pain, and then darkness.

(I hope this works!)

Nickname: Aki
Alliance: The Pack
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Age: 14
Personality: Akila, though a bit blunt at times, is an easy-going and friendly kid who enjoys the company of others. He seems to have an endless supply of energy most days (that is, until there's work to be done...), and loves to crack jokes and make people smile. Despite the situation he's been thrown into, Aki still retains a bit of the naive innocence he had before he was turned, and is frequently far too trusting of those around him.
Fears: Akila is afraid of drowning and heights, and being forgotten one day.
Likes: Soft things, running, puns and jokes, and listening to stories
Dislikes: Thorns, waiting, rainy days, and strong smelling things
Backstory: Akila lived a fairly happy life in the quiet town of Frostwood, raised in a cozy house near the outskirts of the city with his parents as an only child. He was often described as a little ray of sunshine, rarely seen without a smile on his face and finding entertainment in the littlest of things. Winter had been his favorite season, and though he admits his fondness for it has since diminished, he recalls many of his happiest memories happening during the season.

Ironically, his worst memory also stains the wintertime for Aki, leaving a chill even the snow can't compete with.

He was around 8 when it happened. It had just snowed the day before, much to Akila's joy, and he had run out into the cold the moment his mother said he could. Just until she finished cooking breakfast, she had said, so long as he stayed by the house. As he bounded around trying to decide what to do first (after all, how do you choose between a snowman and a snow angel?), he couldn't help but notice something moving by the edge of the woods that was near their town. Curiosity overruled his mother's wishes as Akila approached the trees, vaguely making out the shape of what looked like an animal watching him.

Closer and closer he went, stopping and watching in awe as the creature started to move towards him, eventually approaching and giving the boy's hand a sniff. It looked like... a big dog, with a pretty soft and gray coat Akila found himself petting. Laughing and smiling, completely oblivious to any possible danger, Akila found himself following the 'dog' into the woods.

Unfortunately for Akila, this was no regular dog. It was a wolf, and a rather unique one at that. She was a wolf of the cold, hailing from the Pack, one who had desperately wanted to be a mother, despite being unable to carry her own. And so... she decided she'd get a child one way or another, even if it meant taking one from another mother.

Aki followed the creature until his little legs couldn't carry him any further, the boy eventually plopping into the snow with a huff. The last thing he remembers was seeing the wolf charging towards him, then darkness as pain tore away his consciousness. He woke in a house nestled deep in the woods, never seeing the wolf again...

Akila Breeze

(I'm like... super sick and in desperate need of a nap, I'm sorry if this is a bit sucky <3)

Arabella Roth

Name - Arabella Roth
Nickname(s) - Ara / Bell
Alliance - Pack

Gender - Female - She/Her
Sexuality - Heterosexual
Age - 19

Personality - Aloof and distant to most, it’s hard to tell what’s really going on in Arabella’s noggin. When a tiny smile passes over her lips, one can only wonder what she may be thinking about. To the Pact, however, she’s warm hearted and caring. Despite her young age, Arabella has become more or less a ‘mother’ to the younger children of the community home, and those who have recently turned. Since she was turned at such a young age, her knowledge on the subject is expansive.

Backstory - It’s impossible to pinpoint where Arabella is from. With golden eyes and a mysterious aura, some mumble she’s from another country. That her name isn’t even Arabella. She hasn’t denied those claims, mostly to spook the younger ones. Still, she never speaks of her past, and for good reasons…

While most of the Pack members were turned without consent, and found themselves at the unlucky maw of a rogue wolf, Arabella was a bit different. Chosen at a young age by the old ‘leader’ of the Pack, she was bitten on purpose. He claimed she had an air of ‘authority’ to her, with her golden eyes and all. It wasn’t long before she was taken under his wing to learn the history of the curse, and how to care for those who come looking for shelter. To them, she looked like the model member, completely confident in her shifts and her ability to protect the other members. Hunters were no issue to her, and she even boasts one kill under her belt.

A kill, that she hates. Despite the mask of confidence she eludes about the hunt itself, it was anything but that. It had been self-defense from the young hunter, and she simply didn’t let go of his neck despite his screams and pleads.

It was him or her, right? Yeah, there’s no way she’s ever going to spare a hunter. They can rot in hell, for all she cares.

Nerissa Bennett
1543020524685.png
Nicknames -
Nerissa's usual nickname is 'Issa', which is a name that her close family and friends call her.
Everyone else refers to her by her original name.

Alliance [Pack or Guide] -
Nerissa is apart of the Guild.

Gender [You may add preferred pronouns here too.] -
Nerissa is female and uses the pronouns she/her.

*Sexuality -
Nerissa has dated only one person in her short lifetime, and that person was male. She is fairly sure she is straight, no doubts about it, but she hasn't felt any romantic attraction to anyone specifically in a few years.
A few minor crushes here and there, but nothing like she had with her previous partner.

Age -
24

Personality -
To many, Nerissa is a strong individual that can hold her own in many situations, either verbally or physically. She quick-witted and swift, rarely missing blows in combat training and in arguments. Being in the Guild has roughened her, of course, but that never took away from her soft side she always harbored. Nerissa is ever diligent in caring for others, whether they're close to her or not. She hesitates to hurt those who are innocent, and always puts their wellbeing over her own. This will ultimately cause her downfall, unfortunately, for her occupation requires her to slay the mysterious wolves that wander the woods. Her mindset consistently clashes with the Guild's requests. Nerissa is a skilled fighter and a strong woman, but she holds an ever stagnant zero kills under her belt.

Backstory -
Nerissa grew up in a large family of two adults and five children, including herself. Their little quaint house stood at the edge of the town, it's back to the vast and towering woods that people both cherished and feared. Her father never served in the Guild, but her mother did, and strongly agreed with their ideals. Her father, on the other hand, had different views. He often spoke of the wolves and the woods in wonder, reveling in their mystery. Nerissa would always listen to her father's rambling, wondering too if wolves were really all that bad. As a child, her mother would always try to spook her and her siblings with scary tales of the wolves in the thick brush, waiting for small children to wander in for their next meal. Of course, her siblings were shaking in their boots. Nerissa never really believed the stories, though.

As soon as Nerissa turned ten years old, her mother sent her off to the Overseers to become apart of the Hunt. She knew that it'd be an honor to serve the people, but deep down, she despised the Hunt. What good is contributing to a war with a people who never initiated it in the first place? Nerissa went through the difficult trials and struggled throughout some of them, the thought of purposely failing creeping into the back of her mind now and again. Though, she didn't want to disappoint her family, who put their faith and trust in her. Nerissa succeeded and began her training as a hunter.

Nerissa evolved into a fairly skilled fighter as she grew older, gaining respect from some of her hunter buddies. She was expected to do well in her first mission, that of which was rapidly approaching. Nerissa tried to find some excuse, some way that she could avoid the whole ordeal, but couldn't come up with a logical reason. The day of her first Hunt dawned, Nerissa already deep into the thick forest. It wasn't long until she stumbled upon one of the wolves, its eyes gazing at her and it's large form arched. It took her a few moments to pull herself together, but Nerissa took a stance, readying her weapon. The wolf attacked out of fear, clawing and slashing at her. Nerissa managed to tire it out and pin it down against the ground, patches of fur and one of its fangs strewn about in the grass; she could've brought her weapon down into its skull and killed it. But, she didn't. She stood above it, frozen with hesitation and conflict. She couldn't find it in herself to murder the wolf, despite the thought of disappointment and shame that would come to her. The wolf took this chance to claw it's way free, slashing Nerissa's face in the process, and disappearing into the thick brush. Nerissa didn't know what to do at first, she had just failed her first mission. She knew she had to come back with some type of trophy, some type of evidence that she slew the wolf. Nerissa stood motionless for a moment before her gaze fell upon the loose fang laying in the dirt. She brought that back as a trophy to the Guild, 'completing' her mission. To this day, whenever she is sent on a Hunt, Nerissa tries her best to avoid confrontation with any wolf. She never touches a single wolf she stumbles upon, she only whispers a soft "Go," as she disappears back to the town.

ASHLEY IYKE

AT A GLANCE

FULL NAME Ashley R. Iyke

NICKNAMES None yet!

GENDER Male

AGE 23

FACECLAIM Victor Ndigwe

IN THE FLESH

gray_wolf_6210_by_whitespiritwolf.jpg
image courtesy of WhiteSpiritWolf on deviantArt

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION An athlete even before he turned, Ashley is one of the strongest males in the Pact. An imposing figure at 6'1", he is often tasked with the heavy lifting in the house and bringing back plenty of supplies from town. His wolf form is similar in stature, exchanging his height for broader shoulders and rippling muscle beneath a thick tawny pelt. Dark or light, his eyes contain the same focused look throughout the season.

UNDER THE SKIN

PERSONALITY Ambitious, focused, and diligent, Ashley feels the most at ease when working with his hands. He has a steadfast nature that earns him the respect of most, but has also made a fair number of enemies in his years as he competes for leadership positions. Far from affectionate, he can often be seen as too intense and absorbed in his work. A licensed journeyman, he is responsible for the upkeep of the house's infrastructure, which always has a project for him to work on. Specializing in mechanics, he has a fascination with machines and a head for numbers. He is brighter than he lets on, always seeming to have a practical solution to any problem he is tasked with. Welcoming change and fresh blood in the house while staying faithful to tradition, he is looked up to by both the younger and older Pact members, but he distances himself from personal relationships.

HISTORY Teased for most of his youth because of his name, he embraced his Pact bloodline and the powerful animal awakened in him during the winter. He was taught to keep humans under close watch but to never approach them, and he has never sought to turn anyone, especially after one late winter night. He was mistaken for a stray dog by a human pup and snapped at them as a warning, but misjudged his movement and came too close to their hand. Disgusted by the taste of human blood on his tongue and ashamed of the harm he caused to a child, he vowed never to bare his fangs again, and secluded himself in the house to work. He ventures into town only on occasion, even in the warmer months when he only takes on a human form.

Oliver Snow
the Weasel
member of the Guild
Male :: Bi :: 28

1365704293194.jpg
Compassionate, Warm, Intelligent, Clever, Mentor

Oliver has lived in Frostwood his entire life. His family was neither well off or rich, a simple family really. His parents were good to him, gave him the clothes off their back, never worried for themselves. Only for him. They taught him what they wish of their son, and they succeeded. They did the same for his brother, Jacob Snow, who took to the teachings as well. Possibly even better then Oliver, had he not succumbed to the curse. Jacob's been missing since 2004. Oliver's made it his mission to find out what exactly happened to Jacob, and he believes the Guild will help him find what he seeks. Having made no progress, Oliver is beginning to question whether or not Jacob had truly "disappeared".
