Big 'Ol Book of Legendary Lore

Deadkool

A Sad Remnant of a Forgotten Time

This is an ongoing project of mine where I will invent and combine existing and nonexistent lore in order to create a detailed fantasy universe for any and all to use. Should you wish to assist me in this endeavor, pm me with your ideas.

Volume I

-The Beginning-

Chapter One

Year Zero of The Creation Age

First, there was light, a small, not in any way brilliant light. Aside the light was darkness. The light separated itself into two pieces and each piece named the other. Daedra, of The Moon, and Solas, of The Sun. The two then made creations of their own. Gods and realms, many of the worlds created collapsed in on themselves just minutes after creation. After some time, Daedra and Solas (as well as the lesser Gods) put a stop to their bickering and created a world, named Gaia. It was lush and has great oceans and rolling hills. However, Gaia was bare. Each of the Gods went about creating their own followers from nothing.

Chapter Two

The Sun Gods

Note: Interference is counted by interventions per 100 years

Solas embodies the best intentions. His creations, the lesser Sun Gods express different aspect of such. Few mortals have ever laid eyes on Solas, fewer have ever been influenced by him. Solas' power in the mortal world is very limited. Solas is the most widely worshipped throughout Gaia, revered by most races as The Grand Creator.

Chapter Three

The Moon Gods

Daedra embodies evil in the world. Many believe Daedra's presence to be unlike that of a demon. Scholars who examine it further believe that the motivation of Daedra is much more complicated. As difficult as it is to understand, good cannot exist without evil and Daedra's plots of malice bring out the best of Gaia and stops the world from corrupting itself.

Chapter 5:

Those of The Earth

-Dwarves-

Dwarves were created by Strusessem, hearty and strong. The Dwarves are tied strongly to the physical world. Magic of the ethereal variety barely effects them, the downside being that Dwarves have no connection to The God Realm and can't practice magic. As one might assume, Dwarves spend almost all of their life underground governed by great Dwarven kings. The few Dwarves to leave the confines of the ground are almost always either exiles or merchants. Often, Dwarven Kingdoms will have those dedicated to trading with the outside world. Valuable minerals in exchange for specialty items that the Dwarven people are unable to produce. Alternatively, many exiles have commited heinous crimes or refuted the Dwarven lifestyle to search the surface for adventure.

See: Gnomes

Average Lifespan: 200-500 years

Orcs:

Orcs are by far the most diverse species of Gaia. They were created by Daedra and dubbed one of the God Races (by mostly Orcs). Many embrace the Barbarian lifestyle and live and fight in roaming bandit parties. Many traders have faced their early end at the tip of an Orcish blade. Still, there are peaceful Orcish societies, as few in number as they may be. Orcs not dedicated to tribal life often reside in warmer climates as mercenaries or bartenders. Orcs have the stereotype of being easily angered and very stupid.

See: Goblins, Uruks, Trolls, Ogre, Gremlin, Oni, Gorgons, Gnolls

Average Lifespan: 120 Years

Ents:

Ents were created by Mira as the ultimate moral compass. Ents are the embodiment of life in trees, bushes, or other foliage. Ents have a strong obligation to do what is right and fair down to their very core. Ents do not often leave the great forests out of tradition. Little else is known about Ents due to their mysterious disposition.

Average Lifespan : Unknown

Chapter 6

Those of Planes

Humans:

Humans were created by Solas. Humans are by far the most numerous species of Gaia, but they are also the most divided. Humans seem to have a strong power within them to do evil, but given some guidance, humanity can do the most good. Humans are prevalent in most terrains, their adaptable nature doesn't confine them to any one place. However, Humans are not extraordinary in any obvious way, their power is something deeper in their soul.

Average Lifespan: 100 Years

@SirFlabberghaspy

This book is a homage to your original works and I'm finding myself a little out of depth. Care to join me?

Hmmm, it's been awhile since I've been on this site, but I'll do my best.

@Deadkool

I think I'd be most useful creating monsters, which is honestly my favorite part of any good fantasy world.

@Deadkool

Fine with me, just run any ideas by me before you spend too much time on them.
