Calamity struck in the year 2030 when a virus broke out of a laboratory called, "Ecoterra". A scientist was infected during his work and quarantined, but by the time they realized the patient had already spread the virus onto their family members. With the outbreak unraveled by the media, panic swept through the world, unaware of speeding the process. It started with the simple flu, evolving something extraordinary like physical black plague crawling up their skins. The symptoms were cough, high fever, pale in pigment almost like a corpse, and bloodshot eyes accompanied by black spots. It didn't take long for the first host to be consumed by Nosoi, the virus, and shapeshift into a horrifying, mutation that awakened the infected, commencing the beginning of humanity's genocide.
The military tried their best to eradicate the Incubus even go so far as to execute the infected regardless of age. It was a terrible day in history where monsters attacked humankind, and humans murdering one another for the sake of survival. Generation after generation forced to live a horror lifestyle filled with greed and sorrow the way God intended, or so many believed. Nothing was sacred and the land once lush decayed into a radio-active, wasteland. The destruction caused by hungry Incubus created a chaotic world where the atmosphere's changed, the environment no longer as it once was, a shift in weather made it hard for people to adapt. Ecoterra, however, persevered in attempting to resolve the world's state. They provided a haven for wanderers and practiced drills, safety precautions while living in an abandoned research facility. In time the pack grew and it was time to expand or refuse shelter to survivors. The counsel of scientists agreed to kick out anyone they see as a liability such as an elder person or a family with children. One of the scientists objected this person is the same man who created a future for mankind, and his name was Professor Wallaby Flex.
Prof. Wallaby Flex
Prof. Flex was the one who had to think quickly before any measures were taken. He was the only sane person with morality searching for an answer. Behind his comrade's backs, he created a prototype A.I. to help lighten the load of undoing their mistakes. Having no one to confide in, it was the best idea Flex could muster. Although they were baby steps, he didn't know he was going to lead the world in the right direction. After five years, he succeeded in completing his A.I. which he named, "Codex". Codex was installed in a digital watch for traveling purposes. The first question Flex asked was the percentage of survival in the state they are in. The news was grave but not worthless when Codex provided a plan with a low risk of surviving a mission that decides the fate of the world. Flex was torn, but opt it to be better than waiting for death to take them. He brought up a conference between the council of scientists and the military. At first, the council was baffled and outraged, but the fruition of their condition was too great to overlook. The remaining military was reluctant for it would mean the sacrifice of their party, luckily the lieutenant was all in vouching for Wallaby for the commander to give in. A three-day travel to the nearest city and the roars of Incubus alarmed the residents of trespassers. It was a straight run to the tower followed by a fierce fight lasting thirty-six hours with the exception of installing Dex into the mainframe and becoming the brain within the center of the city. Dex crafted a barrier over the ruins of the city and reignite the powerhouse and for the first time in fifty years, there was light again. Witnessing a glimmer of hope, the soldiers felt a newfound ambition to once again eradicate the Incubus from every nook and cranny before moving any civilians into the city.
The professor's decisions have anointed him the leader of the city, thus dubbing their utopia, "Cornucopia"
It's been fifty years and progressing faster than normal thanks to technology. Humanity is able to sleep well and have hope once again.
Welcome to Cornucopia! It's not an ideal utopia, but it's better than nothing. The city is watched vigilantly by Dex, patrolled by cadets of the Arcane as enforcers. The buildings and streets remain the same as in the modern world with the exception of a few, high walkways to get to and from a place without intersecting the streets. The barrier is visible to the folks inside, but from the outside, it's camouflaged by giant incubus or even flying ones the size of a dragon. During such moments, people are drilled to keep quiet, and should an Incubus invade, people are forced under strict lockdown while the Arcane handles the situation as quickly as possible. The lights are vibrant and entertaining as any metropolis city, but Cornucopia isn't the only viable facility. There are four more cities across the continent yet to make contact. Some wanderers have confessed that there are tribes even colonies attempting to do the same as Cornucopia.
(pretend it's voiced by Steve Blum from Toonami) (the second form is his physical form installed in a robot in case of an emergency)
Codex, also known as Dex, is an A.I. created by Professor Wallaby Flex. He was built as an assistance in resolving issues such as eradicating Incubus, probabilities of expanding their base. He came up with a risky plan that would be the present of Cornucopia. Dex is the power source of the city and all the mechanisms invented. He is an important asset and the true guardian of humanity. Although Dex is just a supercomputer, Prof. Flex made sure to implant emotion to understand the needs of humans both logically and physically, therefore, giving Dex his own personality that is his sassiness. Dex is everywhere at once doing multiple works at full capacity prioritizing the people first for the sake of keeping civilization from collapsing again as well as the military. Should a cadet lose consciousness, Dex is able to maneuver the suit on command but only if given permission on Autopilot.
The Arcane Army is a military force within Cornucopia's walls protecting and serving the people. Their sole purpose is to explore the outside world, for survivors, research, obtain land, and resources all while fighting against Incubus. With the amount of the population growing, expansion is one of the priorities. So far, they have secured a few acres for farmers and expanded their barriers. The military base is found by the borders fenced off for the safety of civilians. There is an underground utopia border with sanitized, white walls and an open garden for those seeking relaxation. Library, workshop, bedrooms, bathrooms, cafeteria, etc. Everything needed to train cadets and stock up on inventory.
There are ranks like any other militia starting from lowest to highest.
Ranks:
Rookie- Adept
Bishop- finished with the basics and has an easy handle on how to be a soldier.
Duke- Taking on missions much more serious and usually called upon for assistance for the Knights.
Knight- The expert level and holder of power and the only ones that may pass their power on.
Bio suits are armored suits welded with nanobots for easier mobility, this also helps the owner suit up easily thanks to the advances of Dex and the Ecoterra department. The suits are used to fit whatever the human body needs such as changing temperature, holding oxygen, scanners, shields, utility belts for manual, repairs, and grappling hooks in case of climbing a mountain. There are various useful tools added into the tools even modded, however, the owner wants such as weapons even rockets. Rookies contain basic armor called, "exoskeleton". Each Bio-suit has Dex installed in them for assistance. He's also the energy source used to keep the suits mobile. If anything happens to him such as a disconnect, the suit is not able to move at full capacity.
There are various types of suits all unique under the wielder and fit the needs of their powers or skills. Cadets are taught the basics of how to maintain their suits and should they need to make adjustments they must go through the master mechanic at the workshop and approved by them before taken into battle.
Powers, humanity has no idea how they received it, but scientists believe it's connected to the Incubus and evolution. There are plenty of powers from psychic, to elementals to beyond comprehension types. Thankfully, these abilities are harbored under the good side, humans. Those that wield power are the highest rank, Knights, and are on the front lines, the last resort bridging the gap between the light and dark. The Knights that are ready to retire or those that don't want the power plan a ceremony for the Dukes that work hard to rank up. The retired Knights pass on their power by consent of both parties with a handshake or any sort of contact and thus the power takes host within the body with "slight, painless" symptoms. The pain is due to the body taking notice of a new entity and acknowledging the power as a dominant Virus. It takes time for the body to adjust and harness the power, but in due time those abilities will become greater than the start. There is indeed more to powers than just obtaining it for the purpose of fighting Incubus. Using too much of it takes a toll on the body as well as a darker secret the higher-ups refuse to say for the sake of the military.
A shadowy monster usually leaking what seems to be black mist or black tar-like substance. These creatures currently rule the world and have evolved exponentially since they first surfaced. They infect whatever they touch like a living virus walking the Earth that carries no emotion but to kill for sport. Their whole purpose is to destroy everything and anything including their own having no sense of moral compass. Some Incubus are harmless yet deadly, while the majority are hostile sometimes traveling in packs. There are several types of species just as there are ranks to determine the level of danger. What is most noticeably dangerous are those marked with purple-violet markings on their bodies to standing up straight.
Incubus Types & Level of Danger
Star Sirens- The name derives from the shape and the high-pitch sound they make. These creatures are common and found almost anywhere. Defining one is hard as they are usually hanging or laying down with their backs turned to camouflage with the dark. What's most noticeable is their hypnotizing eye that lures their prey and sucks the life out of them with their baring teeth on the rim of their eye. If found in danger or otherwise, they make a screeching sound that allures the incubus in other words serves as an alarm. To deactivate, one must impale it through the center of the eye or back as quickly as possible.
Cerebral bombers- Shaped like a brain and harmless to the core, this creature explodes upon contact at a radius of five meters. The name derives from the shape and it's the ability to explode. They are mostly found on seriously plagued lands.

Nomads are mindless, the mutated incubus that leaves a trail of black tar and wanders around like zombies searching for something to kill and eat for nutrition value. These creatures are common minions and used as an entrance exam for rookies. They measure up to 5-7 feet tall on two legs and on 4 can grow as large as a bear.
Mauler- A simplistic name for a simple, one-tracked beast, this Incubus blends in a forest usually seen as a walking tree. It wanders around hopelessly making horrifying, groaning noises that sound like a gasping, dying person. It's weakness is fire given it's wood structure, but may also be put down so long as the limbs or it's body is dismembered then burned to ashes. Unfortunately, it is able to regenerate much like an evolved plat at a slow pace of 24 hours. They have the ability to stretch themselves so long as their rooted. The soil grants them balance and nutrients to grow at a rapid pace. They are also able to spin their torso when rooted, but it's a rare sight to see. In it's normal form, they're only capable of charging and digging their sharp branches into flesh. Once their sure their prey is locked down in it's grasp, they open their mouth from the center of their chest and squeeze them into bits before feeding on their victim. The center of their mouth is also a weak point. Once stabbed or torched from the inside, the Incubus is left to their demise. Maulers are mostly found near forest areas.
Arachnids- As the name states, Arachnids live mostly in caves and keep away from the light. They build their nests in a clove and sleep the majority of the time. Should they need to hunt it would be during the night. They instinctively leave threads of a web for their prey to fall and alarm them to be injected with poison before cocooning and setting it aside. During the cocooning, the victim goes through the gruesome torture of waiting in darkness while the ball slowly secretes acidic slime burning them alive until the ball fills up leaving bits and pieces of their pray inside for the Incubus to feast. This creature can run and crawl on walls as well as burrow themselves for shelter. They spew sticky acid to glue their victims and their tail has a spearhead to impale them. They have a great tracking sense but are vulnerable to any light. All in all, they are terrifying than dangerous and docile so long as they are left alone or asleep. To kill an Arachnid, one must have a sharp object and shields to evade it's attacks.
Strangler- Stranglers are the most deformed Incubus drenched in tar. They're erratic and vile to the core always carrying five or more sets of tentacles to whip and curl their disgusting, slimy tentacles on anything they can get their hands on. They're flexible and speedy as if pumped with adrenaline. They're able to crawl onto walls and make clicking sounds which are mostly used as echolocation. Though they have several eyes, they lack scent and sound often using vibrations to help them navigate. Once their prey is in their grasp they strangle it to death before hovering the body over their heads and easily squeezing their internal organs as if it were a yogurt bar. Their skin isn't particularly tasty to them so they drop them for vultures to take. The eyes he's consumed are automatically fused with him and serve as a second pair of sight. The number of eyes is the poor souls they killed. To take a Strangler down, one must be swift and silent. Remove it's tentacles and leave it a sitting duck.

Level 3 is less of a name and threat and more of a code name. Level 3 is dangerous for many reasons but it's a code name for a horde or pack of Incubus. Certain Incubus of level 2 can be in a pack that usually is attracted by the scent of death.
Kaiju's a middle threat regardless of their massive height, they are without a doubt the most terrifying just by sight, their mass alone gives them great strength and is the reason camouflage exists for the purpose of concealing physical appearance. Their senses are weak and are accustomed to a variety of smells having no interest in attacking. The Kaiju's are the most curious because they move accordingly at a certain route without breaking focus as though they are ordered by a higher power. Some of the Kaiju's act as guards even infesters, they are the queen of reproduction of Incubus. In order to purify the land, one must take down the queen. Kaiju's height is up to 50-100 meters tops. So far, Kaiju's are found at least on part of the region.
Deathbringer- A Deathbringer can take any shape or form so long as they spew the virus terraforming to fit their environment. They plague the lands, create nests, and are seen as mothers to the Incubus. They are never alone which makes it difficult to take down. Their roar alarms their children to protect them from battle. Their physic makes the Earth shake, but if their enemies cling onto their body or even manage to get close they are done for. They are weak but in size, they can be extremely dangerous. Deathbringers know how to hide and keep themselves safe using the smog, however, should it fail, they tend to burrow themselves into the ground.
Spinel- A spinel is a giant serpent usually infecting the underground. Not much data is found on this beast

Believe it or not, not all Incubus are brain dead. Specters are the most dangerous of them all, second to level 6. These are evolved Incubus with intelligence and know how to barely talk. They observe closely and learn, mimicking their opponent while dealing with their primal instincts. Specters are evolved Incubus shaped more into humanoid bodies. No one knows how they became or if it's the extent of their evolution. Not only have they developed but as well as their powers. Some have the ability to possess their victim and others are parasites.
